Chapter 5: Crown Prince Christopher

"No one can be a bigger enemy than you! F*ck you!" Sylvia screamed angrily as she ran ahead.

Although she was tired and did not even have the strength to walk a few steps, she wanted to get as far away from this man as possible.

Why did grandfather send Chris after her? Wasn't he supposed to be attending his engagement ceremony with Norah right now?

The man sitting on the black horse furrowed his brows after seeing Sylvia's adamant behavior. "Protect the Commander!" He barked out an order and followed after Sylvia who was running ahead while clutching her bleeding stomach.

A few horsemen followed after Sylvia upon the man's order and surrounded her to protect her from the soldiers of the Southington Army. A man with golden hair bent forward on his brown horse to speak to Sylvia,

"Commander, go back with His Highness! Your father and I will take the charge of the battle now! Hurry up and leave before General Timor arrives!"

Sylvia halted abruptly to look at the man. "My father?"

The man nodded his head at her and then straightened up to look at the man with a crown-shaped helmet. "Your Highness, hurry up and save yourself and Commander before another troop of enemies arrives here! Leave the rest of the things on me." He told the man on the black horse who eventually caught up with them.

The man turned his head to look at the other man who had stopped Sylvia. "Thank you, Benjamin. I am counting on you. Take care of General Timor."

As he spoke to Benjamin, he bent forward, extended his strong arm to hold Sylvia's waist, and scooped her up.

Sylvia was shocked when her feet left the ground. She screamed in horror and reached out to hold the man's neck tightly.

In the next moment, she was sitting in front of him. Sylvia looked up at the man and when her gaze met his, her heart skipped a beat.

She instantly shifted a little and turned her head to look at Benjamin who was grinning mischievously at them.

"Your Highness, be careful. Commander Sylvia is injured." Benjamin reminded the man behind Sylvia. "Please go back to the camp. We will handle the enemy now." He then glanced at Sylvia with a devilish smile on his face. "You did an amazing job, My Lady! But I am afraid, your father will not accept this heroic act of yours. You crazily devoured half of the Southington army with the aid of only twenty soldiers! You and your troop are simply crazy!" He then laughed heartily.

Sylvia: "!!!"

That act was suicidal! No wonder Commander Sylvia perished in the attack! But why did she do that?

"Benjamin, go and take the hold of our troops in place of Commander Sylvia. Send those twenty injured soldiers back to the camp." The man behind Sylvia ordered Benjamin indifferently.

Benjamin's smile vanished and he instantly obeyed the orders solemnly, "Yes, Your Highness!" He then took his men and charged at the new troop of enemies fiercely.

The man turned his horse to go back into their camp along with Sylvia.

Sylvia blinked and turned her head to look at the man behind her.

Did that Benjamin call Chris 'Your Highness' just now?

"Why are you looking at me like that?" The man asked her when he found her staring at him with her mouth agape.

Sylvia realized that something was not right. She looked at him cautiously as she asked him, "Who are you?"

The man raised his left eyebrow at her questioningly. "What kind of new drama is this?" He asked her with a mocking smile on his lips.

"Drama?" Sylvia frowned a little as she repeated his word.

"I didn't think you could be this stupid," The man spoke in contempt as he rode the horse towards the direction of the camp.

"I am stupid," Sylvia said while staring at his enchanting lips which had curled upward into a perfect sneer.

"You finally agreed that you are stupid." He said and scoffed.

"I was stupid because I trusted you," Sylvia muttered absentmindedly. Tears started to well up in her eyes as she looked at his handsome face.

She wanted to squeeze and punch his face! She didn't get enough time to vent her anger on Chris as she had traveled through the time to find the blue stone right after her breakup. She didn't even get the time to mourn over it.

Everything was the same about this man except for his clothes, long hair, muscular body, and haughty attitude. The man in her memory never had this kind of attitude. Also, Chris was slightly slimmer than this man.

Sylvia shook her head to shake off her astray-going thoughts.

Looked like, she misunderstood him as Chris just like he had misunderstood her as some Commander Sylvia Timor.

The man looked at her for a moment before averting his eyes to look straight ahead. His Adam's apple bobbed up and down expressing his uneasiness. "Don't speak. You might lose more blood." He told her in a slightly gentler voice.

After saying that, he suddenly increased the speed of riding, without telling her to sit tight.

Sylvia jumped up automatically and crashed against his hard chest.

"Ouch!" She cried out in pain and hugged his waist tightly. Her wound started to hurt even more. She looked up at him again, fury boiling within her. "Can't you ride a little slower? I am injured! Do you want to kill me? If yes, then throw me here right now! Throw me, damn it!" She yelled in pain.

The man shifted his gaze to look at her again. He saw the aggrieved look on her face and eyes full of tears of hatred, pain, and grievances. He finally slowed down a little. "We need to hurry up." He said expressionlessly.

Sylvia took a sharp breath to endure the pain in her entire body. "I don't want to see your face again! Please stay away from me from now on. Got it?" She told him in a determined tone, expressing her disliking towards him.

Her conscience was telling her to be careful and stay away from this man as far as she could.

She needed to focus on her mission of finding the blue stone. There wasn't any place for Chris or any other man like him in her heart anymore now.

"I don't want to stay near you either." The man replied coldly and in the next second, the horse broke into a furious gallop.

"Hey!" Sylvia suddenly started to feel dizzy and sick. She had never mounted on the horse, much less riding on it.

"Close your eyes." She heard the man instructing her while holding her with his left arm firmly.

"Don't touch me!" Sylvia shifted in his arms uncomfortably.

The man's gaze hardened when he heard that. He tightened his grip around her even more and pulled her close to his chest.

Sylvia wanted to resist but as soon as she turned her head sharply to bark at him like a mad dog, she felt her vision turning blurry. Before she could comprehend what was happening to her, she fainted in his arms.

A look of concern appeared on the man's face and he shouted her name anxiously, "Sylvia!" He then looked ahead where he could see their camp getting near and near. He spurred his horse and rode faster amidst the fighting army of both kingdoms.

When Sylvia regained her consciousness, the sky outside had turned dark. She found herself lying on a cozy and warm bed in a spacious rectangular white tent full of luxurious items of the medieval era.

The curtains around the King-size bed were half drawn and she could see a faint light coming from a candle on the nearby wooden table.

Someone had changed her clothes and she was feeling more relaxed after getting out of the tight and heavy warrior outfit.

It took a couple of minutes for her to discern that she wasn't in her home and it was an unfamiliar place for her.

Sylvia instantly got up and flinched in pain when her wounds started to hurt again. She touched her head and stomach and found someone had treated and bandaged them neatly.

"My Lady!" A feared voice of a young girl came from nearby.

Sylvia opened her eyes widely and turned her head to look at the shadow sitting beside her. She couldn't see her face as she was sitting with her back towards the light.

"Who? Who are you?" Sylvia asked while looking at the shadow alarmingly.

The girl instantly lighted up a lantern on the bedside table and with that, an innocent and average-looking face of a young girl lit up in the light coming from the lantern.

"Young Miss Sylvia, it is me, Meliaz. Your personal attendant and companion." The girl replied politely with a worried look on her face and extended her hands to push Sylvia back gently. "Please lie down. The Royal Physician has asked you to take complete bed rest for one day and night. We will go home tomorrow morning."

Sylvia slowly lied back but kept looking at the girl and uttered her name, "Meliaz... Where am I right now? What place is this?" She asked while looking at her surroundings.

Meliaz gently rubbed Sylvia's palms. "My Lady, this is a temporary Royal tent of Crown Prince Christopher." She replied with a warm and emotional smile on her face. "He and your father have gone outside a few minutes ago to discuss your health condition with the Royal Physician again. They were extremely worried for you. Old Master is angry with you. But I am sure he will not scold..."

Sylvia furrowed her brows and interrupted Meliaz who was blabbering non-stop, "Wait! Crown Prince Christopher? Who is he?" She asked Meliaz as the name 'Christopher' appeared to be familiar to her.

The smile on Meliaz's face froze along with her exciting speech. Her grip around Sylvia's hand tightened subconsciously. "My Lady, don't you... remember... him...?" She started to stutter as she looked at Sylvia in fear. "Have you... forgotten...?"

"Forgotten?" Sylvia asked her in return and her eyes darted everywhere as an instant idea struck her.

Meliaz's gaze shifted towards the gauze on Sylvia's head as she asked slowly again, "My Lady, have you forgotten everything?"

Sylvia squinted her eyes and started to think about something. After a long silence, she extended her hand to hold Meliaz's hand. "Meliaz..." She called out and licked her lips, preparing herself to lie to the innocent girl who was around her age and looked genuinely worried for her.

Meliaz started looking at Sylvia in anticipation. "My Lady..."

Sylvia smiled awkwardly at Meliaz and slowly nodded her head. As if it wasn't enough, she said in confirmation, "I have indeed lost my memories. I don't remember anything. I didn't recognize the Crown Prince... I didn't recognize you either..."

Meliaz: "!!!"

She was too shocked to speak anything.

Suddenly, the curtains on the other half of the bed pulled apart and a sturdy and tall man emerged through them with shocked expressions on his face.

Sylvia and Meliaz jumped in fright and instantly turned to look at the man.

Sylvia's eyes widened in surprise when she saw the familiar-looking man and she shouted in shock,

"Dad!"
