Chapter 2: Bite than you can chew
The rest of the words died down in his throat when his gaze landed on his father.
Alpha Jason was furious seeing how silent he was, Angel knew how her father behaved when he was mad at someone or something. The fury begot the silence, and something told her the anger was directed at her, not her stepbrother.
Even when Henry had wiped out an entire family, her father covered it up with bribes and never scolded him for his wrongdoings. He overly pampered his legitimate children and treated her like trash since her mother's death.
Though he was lenient with them, they all feared him, including her, because he was a greedy man and would do anything to achieve his goals.
"What did I say about noise now, Henry?" Directing his gaze towards Henry, he asked, folding his hands at his back with a calculating look. That look meant he was deliberating on something, and Angel didn't like that look.
"You are just going to let him torture me?" Scoffing, Angel asked, her eyes swollen and red from crying too much.
"You are engaged, he has every right to do whatever he wants with his woman." Nonchalantly, he said and walked further into the room. Taking a seat on the chair, he carried his legs over one another and relaxed into the chair.
"Now tell me why I should spare you for trying to escape?" He asked.
Henry had retreated and was now standing beside his father, staring down at Angel with a triumphant look. His father might have interrupted their sweet time together, but he was going to continue later.
"Dress decently son," Jason said and Henry immediately did as his father instructed.
"I have nothing to say, why not let your beloved son explain himself?" She replied, staring daringly at Jason. He had never raised his hands on her, so she was sure he would either lock her up or order people to do it. At least she was safe for a while and could disobey him until he decided to instruct the guards.
"Don't you get tired of being tortured, Dear Angel? Your name should contrast your attitude, don't you think?" Grabbing her chin, he said, smiling warmly at her which almost fooled her for a second if she hadn't known the type of monster he was.
He was a man who could sell his blood to survive, he was worse than a serial killer. No, he is a serial killer.
"Dad, if I explain myself, would you believe me and spare me?" She asked, playing along with him.
"You know daddy loves you, anything for my princess." He lied, thinking he could deceive her but inwardly, Angel was only playing along.
"Then lock up Henry for threatening and torturing me and I would willingly stamp the transfer of ownership tonight." She said, causing Henry to widen his eyes in shock. Has she gone nuts?
"What makes you think father would agree to that?" He mocked, laughing at her for her foolishness.
"Fine," shocking both Angel and Henry, Jason agreed to her deal.
"Father?!!" Henry called, finding it hard to believe that his father was going to do her bidding.
"Do you have the papers with you?" Ignoring Henry, he asked.
"These are the papers," Angel replied, pointing at the papers on the table.
"Alright, now let's get some papers signed. Guards!" He called out to the guards and they helped Angel up, granting her access to retrieve her stamp.
Once the guards were done attending to Angel, he instructed, "Lock him up, and do not serve him anything to eat until I say so." The two guards nodded their heads in response.
"Father!! You can't do this to me? What of our plans? Father!!" Yelling, he struggled against the guard's hold but they overpowered him and led him out of the room.
Now that it was only Angel and Alpha Jason in the room, Angel wrapped the blanket on the bed around her body, as she was only in her undergarments
"Don't try to play smart sweet daughter, I can easily order your death with just an accusation." He threatened, and she nodded her head in understanding.
Even if she stamped this paper, he wouldn't be able to acquire her wealth unless she was present to approve it. Therefore the stamp was foolish, and she wouldn't be alive to help him with her presence.
"Impeach Henry as the future Alpha and make Andras the new heir, and all of mine is yours. Of course, I would witness this process before you claim the inheritance," she laid her conditions and it irked Jason.
"I already locked Jason as you requested, but you want me to impeach him? Don't bite more than you can chew Angel," standing up, he warned, towering over her.
"What is there to fear when the inheritance is going to be yours after I stamp this paper? You don't even care who the real heir is, why are you so sensitive?" She said and for a moment, she noticed the amusement in his eyes. He looked like he was surprised that she knew so much about him.
"You are too smart for your own good Darling, now let's get over it, and have a wine to celebrate this prosperous agreement." He said, rushing her into stamping the agreement.
"Okay," Angel agreed and turned her body to stamp the sea but was interrupted by an abrupt intrusion.
"Alpha Jason, he is here!" A guard who looked nervous said, not caring about intruding on the Alpha's privacy.
"He is?" Not expecting the announcement, Alpha Jason repeated.
"Yes, the Head of all the Alphas is in our pack presently and you should welcome him, Alpha Jason," the guard relayed, causing Jason to nod his head.
"I want this paper signed, give the guard once you are done, and you are free to leave the pack house from now on." He said, grinning from left to right, that meant he was having a very very special guest.
"Stay with her and do not leave without that stamped paper," passing by the guard, he ordered and left the room.
"Get this done with bitch, I can't miss welcoming the most powerful Alpha." Cursing, the guard said. Angel knew she had no respect in this pack so she didn't argue with him and gave him the stamped paper.
Once he left, she fell to the ground and started sobbing, resenting her mother for leaving her alone in such a cruel world.
