Anger and desperation are the only things I feel as we drive away from Jayne's place.

Evelyn used us as a weapon against Jayne. I allowed it.

I never wanted Jayne broken, but I fear this is going to devastate her and Declan and I were a part of it.

Watching her building shrink in the side mirror as we drive away, I realize I am worried.

I can't lose her.

Right now, I don't deserve her, but I won't let her go.

Jayne was never choosing between the both of us and her mother. She was trying to hold onto us and keep her childhood home. In the end, her admission about her beach house shows me she chose her future with us by gambling her past and she is about to pay dearly for it.

Guilt is seeping through my veins like a thick poison and all I am thinking about is fixing this mess. I'm paralyzed by the good chance there is nothing we can do.
