Chapter 73: Chapter 73: DECLAN

Today is shaping up to look a lot like yesterday. We still don't know anything about the company and we haven't heard back on our offer to exchange some of our holdings for Jayne's property.

All we know is the letter was received and signed for.

Jayne called in to Janice this morning saying she wasn't feeling well and it's probably for the best that she isn't here today.

I can't take keeping this from her. I can't handle the guilt that crushes me each time I see her.

Seeing her reminds me we are failing her.

I don't deserve her.

My anger is barely contained.

I send off a couple of texts to check in on Jayne, but she's not responding. I realize I haven't been paying the attention I should be to her these past few days. I need to fix this first, then I will spend a lifetime making it up to her.

I hope her lack of response means that she's sleeping and taking care of herself.
