Chapter 29: 29. The abomination

[You have broken through to the sixth level of the chi master stage.]

Silas stretched as he jumped off of the creature he just killed which was a very big, black snake.

"You sure you don't want to use this chance to cultivate?" Silas asked Karvon and Karvon shook his head.

"After I get the Ire of souls, my life energy will be on a steady increase." Karvon said and then they continued down the road.

Soon, they got to a part of the tunnel where there were nests above and on the sides of the wall and Karvon summoned his scythe and climbed up on it.

"Let's run." Karvon suddenly shot forwards followed by Juliet and Silas didn't even know what to do and just followed, putting all of his chi into his legs and body, he felt lighter thnn before and as they passed, giant flying bugs from the sides and above came through towards them and then they all chased after the people who were trespassing in their area.

Silas noticed the skeletons of creatures on the ground and he stepped on them without hesitation to continue forwards.

The bugs suddenly began to shoot out a beam of condensed green energy and Silas noticed that Karvon and Juliet were already far ahead and he focused on his hearing and running. Soon, he made it passed the bug area and continued until he saw Karvon and Juliet standing and he ran and passed them a bit before looking backwards and stopping.

The bugs flew back to their original location, the buzzing getting more and more distant. Silas then he walked towards Juliet and Karvon who also walked towards him.

"You gotta be careful in the crypts. Those vapugs are extremely dangerous when they're together like that." Karvon said and Silas shook his head.

"I can't believe a while ago you were just a weak kid who has seen a lot in life." Silas said with a sigh.

"You might need to break seals in the sins to restore their memories." Karvon said as he walked forward.

"And you too. Your own memories, you need it too. There are some important things you are forgetting." Karvon said to Silas and Silas looked at Juliet who was just focused on the road.

"What am I forgetting?" He asked Juliet.

"You'll have to find out yourself." Juliet replied to him and he just sighed as he left the talk and continued forward.

They soon arrived in a path which lead downwards and they all jumped down and landed on an soft, grassy area.

Silas squinted his eyes as he looked at the... Frozen lake in front of them which spreads around, taking up a large area of the road.

Behind them was just a wall and in front was the continuation of the extremely wide tunnel.

"Let's go around it." Silas said and then he and Juliet made their way around it.

Karvon summoned his scythe and stood on it as he flew across the lake directly, with the same neutral face.

The only sounds the group were hearing were the sounds of their footsteps and they were all on high alert.

"How did that lake get frozen?" Silas asked as he had been wondering how it was possible when there was no freezing agents close to the water or in the water.

"I don't know, let's just hurry up and keep going." Karvon said in quite the bossy tone and Silas frowned at him and walked to the edge of the lake and he called out to them.

"Hey, Karvon. Seems like you don't know who's in charge here." Silas turned around with an annoyed frown.

"I call the shots here," Silas reminded Karvon with a strict tone.

Karvon immediately felt the pressure from Silas and he looked scared and immediately bowed.

"I'm sorry." Karvon said.

Silas nodded to him and walked towards the lake. He bent down near it and looked at his reflection on the ice.

"This is no normal ice. But whatever..." Silas stood up and then he stepped on the ice to check if it'll break and a screen popped up in front of him.

[You have found the seal of the abomination]

[The abomination would be loyal to the prince of hell.]

[Destroy ice to break the seal]

"What? Hey Karvon, you ever heard of... the abomination?" Silas asked and Karvon shook his head as the scythe flew with him on top towards Silas.

'I've never actually used this power before.' Silas thought with a sigh and then he walked onto the lake.

"I'm destroying the ice, there's a seal here." Silas said, confusing Karvon and Juliet.

He put his chi into his legs and jumped up really high. Then he turned and looked down to the lake and his eyes glowed bright purple. Silas then came down with a punch, infusing all his chi into his right shoulder and arms.

All of a sudden, threads or dark energy weaved around his right arm which he brought down upon the frozen lake.

*BOOM!!*

The lake exploded with the impact of the punch and the ice shards shot towards Karvon and Juliet who deflected them.

Karvon's scythe was just in front of him spinning while Juliet just let the ice hit her and break into pieces from the impact.

The fog soon settled and they saw that there was water beneath the ice and the water splashed as Silas emerged from it.

He held an oval shaped object. It looked like a giant golden pill which was corrupted with black lines running on the body.

"What is it?" Karvon asked and then Juliet gasped as she stared at the cacoon.

[Cacoon: The creature within was sealed in the lake by the ice emperess, now it's just waiting for a new master... Or an old one]

[Time remaining for cacoon to hatch: 2 days, 17 hours.]

"Juliet, you know something?" Silas asked and she nodded.

"Karvon, it's Sebastian." Juliet said and Karvon looked surprised and he looked at the cacoon with visible fear in his eyes.

"I wonder what the creature did to made the heavens call it an abomination." Silas stretched his hand towards the cacoon and it teleported into the storage ring.

"It's called an abomination... Not by what it did, but by what it is. Something that's not even supposed to be possible to exist." Juliet said and Silas raised a brow at her.
