Chapter 17: Unveiling the Supreme Evil

Zhang Wei's heart sank with anger and deep humiliation as he made his way back to his small room after the night of unspeakable shame in Chi Yang's room. The feeling of disgrace and frustration simmered within him, intensifying with every step he took. When he entered his room, he saw his hands trembling with fury as he threw objects and furniture around in an uncontrollable fit of rage.

The vivid memory of the previous night kept flashing before his eyes, causing him unbearable pain and misery. Zhang Wei's heart was pounding with fury and despair as he could still hear the cries and screams of Liu Ming's wife and daughter echoing in his ears, and the sight of his friend being forced to watch as his family was humiliated was etched into his mind forever. He needed to do something, anything, to change his fate and the fate of those around him. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, trying to shut out the memories of the unspeakable horrors he had witnessed. He knew that without becoming immortal, he would never be able to change the fate of himself or those closest to him. He turned his attention to the glowing balls of light that had been appearing in his mind, hoping that they held the key to his salvation.

He focused all his energy and concentration on the balls of light, willing them to reveal their secrets. Suddenly, with a burst of energy, the wall shattered, and a flood of new information flooded his mind. He gasped in shock as he received not just one new cultivation technique, but five. And these were not just any techniques. They were peerless, forbidden techniques that were considered taboo in the immortal world.

As he delved deeper into the memories of the inheritance creator, he realized the true horror of these techniques. The first technique was called the Heavenly Devil's Immortal Qi Technique. It allowed the user to absorb and refine any kind of qi, including immortal and demonic qi, to increase their own strength and power. But with each use, it would corrupt the user's mind and soul, driving them further into a pit of insanity and despair.

The second technique was the Soulless Divine Technique, which allowed the cultivator to control the souls of others and manipulate them as puppets. The cultivator could even separate a part of their own soul to create avatars with other people's bodies. However, the cost of using this technique was that the cultivator would lose their own soul and become nothing more than a vessel for the souls they controlled, trapped in an eternal cycle of madness and suffering.

The third technique was the God-Devil Immortal Harmony Sutra, which allowed the user's body to become as hard as diamonds and unbreakable. However, it came at a terrible cost: the user's body would slowly consume their soul, turning them into a heartless monster with no emotions or empathy.

The fourth technique was the Eye of Darkness, which allowed the user to see through all falsehood and deception, making it a powerful tool for manipulation and control. However, the side effect of this technique was that the user's own heart became shrouded in darkness, causing them to become more and more twisted and evil with each passing day.

The fifth and final technique was the Boundless Evil Immortal Sutra, which allowed the user to devour any kind of energy, including spiritual energy, life force, and even the opponents' soul, simply by coming in contact with them. It was especially effective when used during dual cultivation with a female, as it could make them become obsessed with the user and do anything for them. However, the side effect of this technique was that it could cause the user to become addicted to devouring energy, leading to their own downfall as they continued to use it. It was a taboo among taboos, and its use in the long term could cause the cultivator to become increasingly evil and twisted in their desires.

Zhang Wei felt a chill run down his spine as he realized the true nature of these techniques. They were not tools for cultivation but instruments of torture and destruction.

As he understood more of the memories he received, he also learned some additional information from them. The creator of this inheritance was Xia Leiyan, a relatively powerful cultivator in the immortal world. When he was young, he bought a broken treasure chest from a merchant in the village. That merchant did not have a very good reputation and most of the time sold fake goods. He bought the treasure chest because he was fooled by the merchant's high words that there may be valuable gold within it.

Later when he opened the treasure chest, there was no gold but a broken tattered book. He knew he had been fooled, but when he read the book, he realized he had obtained something more valuable than gold: an opportunity to become immortal. That technique was the same technique Zhang Wei had received, but what Zhang Wei got was only a part of the complete technique. In the memory, there was a complete version of this technique included along with the five taboo techniques.
