Chapter 16: Practice 2
Miyuki feel a headache coming from babysitting Mio too much. He glared Mio and squat down and pick up his mitt indicating that Mio can proceed.
'First give me two-seamer.'
*BOOM*
'Four-seamer'
*BOOM*
'Nice pitch, next splitter'
The reason Mio confident in learning change-up as his new pitch because it's similar to splitter. The ball spin significantly less than a fastball. The low spin rate causes this pitch to have serious drop when thrown correctly. And the case with Mio, his splitter was fast but have less spin on it and it drop so much causing the batter have no choice but to swing their bat.
*BOOM*
'You got some disgusting pitch Mio! next forkball'
*BOOM*
'Ahhhhh senpai can't I throw this one?' He sulked
'Why did you learn this pitch then? '
'For fun'
Miyuki was irritated by Mio constant change temperant. He take a deep breath and exhale.
'Then give me your cutter' Mio instantly brighten up. He threw it.
*Fwoosh*
The ball was the same as his regular fastball but then at the last minute the ball break away perfectly . Miyuki astonished by Mio's talent and ability to learn many type of pitches. If he can use Mio's cutter properly then he can eliminate most batter. Miyuki stop his wishful thinking and contemplate. Wait isn't Mio a southpaw?!
'But Mio you know that if a southpaw throw a cutter it will break away from left-handed batter and head toward right-handed batter right? '
Mio nodded and then smile mischievously.
'But I use my right hand just now?'
'!!'

'W-what' Miyuki stuttered. Just now he use his right hand??. Mio blink innocently.
'Senpai are you okay?' Mio approach Miyuki and wave in front his face.
'Why are you daze senpai? '
'..ahh n-nothi-'
'Mio-kun the coach is expecting for you' a loud voice draw back their attention.
'Right now? '
'Yes'
Mio stand up and head to where the coach was, leaving Miyuki all alone.
'O-oi! ' He stand up and follow Mio like a mother hen guarding his chick.

'You call for me coach? '
'Furuya said that you catch for him'
'Yes? '
'Mio-kun is the only person other than Miyuki-senpai that can catch my pitch' Furuya chimed in. They don't know that, in the future they will be thankful for knowing that Mio can play as a catcher.
'Then you go wear a gear and catch for him' Coach Kataoka made his decision.
