Chapter 21: Entrance
"Sorry not free, you're not the only one planning something today," Lucas said with a grain of salt
"Alright, sorry for bothering" I tried to close the door, but Lucas grabbed it
"I can't help you doesn't mean my lackeys can't. One of them's named Fin, he's pretty good at illusion magic... I pretty sure if he really pushes he'd be better than me"
"Oh... thanks"
I didn't expect that he'd be so helpful.
"I didn't do it for you. The King of Leon... I despise him. That's why I'm helping you... not because I like you. You owe me one" Lucas closed the door
There's a back story I'm missing out on. If I have to guess he's either betrayed by the king of Leon or raise to despise the man. The king, he's a good guy from what I've seen. He has 3 sons and 1 daughter. I've only seen one of them, an eight-year-old boy named Aurelius
Better go find Fin though... I'd rather start the plan today
I walked around
"Hey! Alvin!"
"Yes? S-Sir?"
"It's Ignis"
"Right! Yes, Ignis?"
"Do you know someone named Fin?"
"Yes... I'm not friends with him, but I do know who he is"
"Do you know where he is?"
"Library... probably he's always there pretending to be so smart" Alvin babbled
So he's an undesirable know it all. Probably a rich spoiled brat that's also a nerd that's not smart. How come a nerd isn't smart? Well... they're more dumb than normal and study to make them smart, but only as smart as the normal human being so they're not smart, but they pretend to be
I went to the library and sure enough... I feel like I found Fin. A black hair guy with brown eyes and square glasses
"Are you Fin?"
"It's Sir Fin to you"
Arrogant... brat
"I'm general Ignis"
He finally took a quick glance at me
"S-Sir Ignis... I'm so sorry for being so rude. I thought you were one of the lower-ranking demons"
A great man once said 'If you want to know what a man's like. Take a good look at how he treats his inferiors, not his equals' *cough* Sirius *cough*. Wait... did I just cough inside my own head? Ahh, who cares
"It's alright. I was just wondering if you're as skilled at illusion magic as I've heard. Lucas talked a big deal about you"
"I'm afraid he made your expectations of me too high"
I can't even get close to doing illusion magic so whatever he shows me would impress me
"I want you to help me with something"
Is it okay to play this mission as no big deal? To do it isn't a big deal to me, but the impact is... something for future Ignis to think of
"Yes, sir!" Fin saluted
I'm glad he doesn't question me, but he's pretty dumb for not even questioning what we're doing
"If you don't mind me asking, do you know what you're going to do?"
"No... sir"
"We're killing the king of Leon. Now, are you sure you want to carry out this mission?"
"Yes"
Well, sometimes stupid people are the easiest to command
"So... what is the plan, sir?"
"You use illusion magic to make me look like Shin"
"Shin the Hero?"
"That's the one... then I'll use Shin's Hero status to see the king and kill, it's that easy. Throughout history in this world that I've read, Heroes were always the saviour the king wouldn't suspect a thing."
So we did just that we went to the 'Gate', a portal that allows demons to travel to the human world
I just realize that most demons don't know Ignis's appearance. It's a pain to have a guard ask 'Who goes there' every time I enter somewhere special. Like right now
"Who goes there"
I hate this... I'm just gonna make an annoyed face at him and show my ID/Badge
They stumbled back like normal and was very surprised and said "L-Lord Ignis... we'll open the Gate right away sure"
"You better you filthy peasants" Fin scared them off
By what he said I guess he's a noble. I don't like his personality though... calling someone filthy peasant is just plan out rude and disrespectful
The portal opened and we both walked through
"That's the wall of Leon's border right sir?"
"Yeah and stop calling me sir"
"Right"
He dropped that fast. I guess he wasn't a fan of calling me sir either
"Let's go in disguise I'd rather we use illusion magic inside the castle's grounds"
"Forgive if I'm wrong, but aren't you also a hero?"
He's not as dumb as I thought
"I'm a hero, but I'd rather make my appearance a secret. I wouldn't investigators knowing I was in town when the king died. It could make me a suspect of the crime"
"I see"
I think I have some cloaks and village outfit in my inventory, let me check
Swipe left to right... and click inventory... cool I didn't forget
"Also Fin... I can't show my face to the guards since they knew my appearance so I sneak in my some random guy's carriage. Just remember no matter the cost they cannot see my face"
"Yes of course"
There was a line waiting to get into the kingdom. Soldiers would randomly pick someone to inspect. Now it's just a game of chance. I'll just go in randomly too
I went in and there was nothing... just an everyday fantasy carriage with a white... something as a roof. It's also covering the walls too, but this also screams inspect me! It's too late to get out though. Fin's outside walking by the side of the carriage as a spy like as possible
Now let's hope it goes through
