Chapter 2: Chosen path
Axel slowly opened his eyes, checking his surroundings he realized he was in the hospital. He looked over to his side and seen his mother sleeping in a chair. A nurse walked in the room and said "Axel you're awake." His mother then woke up and ran over to hug him. "Boy you scared me half to death when I found you in the yard passed out." "Sorry mom," says Axel.
"Ms. Gray, his test results came back and everything checked out fine, actually better than fine he is in perfect health." "He is probably the healthiest teenager we have ever seen. We have no idea what caused him to pass out, and burn his clothes to shreds, almost seems like he got struck by lightning."
Axel thought back to last night and the pain I went through and the voice in my head, and started to feel some excitement and fear at the same time. "If I really did inherit some powers like I heard in my head, there is no telling what troubles or opportunities these powers could bring."
"So nurse Jackie, is it ok to check him out?" "Yes he is fine to go home but just have him take it easy for the day." Once we arrived at home an hour later and my mom told me to go to my room and take it easy. As soon as I got to my room I locked the door and sat on my bed in a meditative state like they do in most wuxia novels, and just to my surprise my consciousness transferred to a dark palace with lightning crackling in the pitch black sky.
I was a bit hesitant at first but I eventually walked over to the huge doors with markings on it that I've never seen before. The door opened automatically and in front of me was a man sitting on a throne with black lighting sparking around his body like he was in super saiyan 2 form from dragon ball z. He looked to be around 6'5 and built like The Rock from the fast and furious series, he had long black hair and purple eyes that glowed like a sharingan from Naruto. I stared at him in shock and awe and a fear from the invisible pressure that all of a sudden felt like it was pressing down on my body.
"My inheritor, you've finally arrived said the man on the throne." I was still in shock, then I finally snapped out of it. I asked the man, "so what exactly am I inheriting?" The man said "you will inherit my powers and legacy of the dark lightning god."
"The legacy of the dark lightning god will grant you unimaginable powers, the strength and power to conquer galaxies if you so choose to do." As I heard this my heart couldn't stop racing everything I had dreamed about this in school or at practice and now it was about to become a reality.
I took a deep breath and gathered my self, and asked the man, "so what is it that I have to do?" The man on the throne looked at me with a small smirk on his face. Then he held his hand in the air and summoned and black lightning spear. "Receive this dark lightning spear and all my knowledge and techniques will be transferred to your mind and your body will undergo a miraculous change.You will become a different being all together, the people of this world will think of you as a god or one of those cartoons you watch basically a Superman."
I ready my self for the dark spear with fear in my heart knowing I never took a bullet how the hell would a lightning spear feel, the man on the throne threw the lightning spear so fast I couldn't even see when it hit me. Once the spear hit my body I felt electricity spread throughout my whole body, then the lightning started to wrap around me until my whole body was covered in a lightning cocoon.
While inside the lightning cocoon my hair started to grow longer, my muscles where getting ripped and defined, I was going through excruciating pain it felt like my body was changing on a molecular level, my body started growing taller and a burning and warm sensation was happening to my eyes. I started to see visions of myself using powers like teleportation, throwing dark lightning spears, summoning lightning from the skies, using martial art moves and many other techniques Ive only seen in comic books and movies.
This whole process lasted for about a hour until the lightning cocoon finally dispersed. In the real world I was going through the same changes but there was a barrier in my room so you couldn't hear anything going on. When I opened my eyes they were glowing purple just like the man on the throne. He looked at me with a bright smile and nodded his head, he said, "the fun will start now, time for your training and to choose which path you will walk Axel Gray."
