Chapter 60: Don't Worry

Lowering his gaze, Song Zhuyu smoothly slipped the wooden ornament into his pocket and returned to stand beside Rui Ye's bed, gazing down at the blind man with cold and scrutinizing eyes. 

Time and time again, he had told himself not to let his guard down in front of this man, yet he didn't know why… there was just something about Rui Ye that ticked him off in the wrong way. 

Was it his thin frame that trembled ever so slightly when drenched in the rain? Or the way he clung to Song Zhuyu with such desperation and anxiety like the very air keeping him alive? Or perhaps it was the fact that Rui Ye was blind, which made Song Zhuyu feel at ease since he knew the way Rui Ye treated him was entirely due to who he was, and not what he looked like? Song Zhuyu couldn't tell for certain; it might even be the combination of all. 

And before he knew it, he had placed Rui Ye into the category of 'to be protected' rather than 'to be observed'.
