Chapter 5: Let's break up
I saw Caitlin laid down on the ground and right in front of her was red Zoyota crashed into the wall behind us.
Caitlin wasn't moving and after looking closely I saw that her foot was under the car.
I started panicking, after taking a few deep breaths I quickly ran to Caitlin, she was still breathing. had she not pulled me back I would have ended up under the car.
I quickly pulled out my phone and called an ambulance. I tried to pull her out but she wouldn't budge, I didn't want to worsen her condition so I decided to leave her alone and laid down on the footpath, my knee was paining but now I could feel even worse pain from my left arm, the adrenaline was dying out and the pain was worsening, I tried to look what happened to my arm but I wasn't able to move it since even moving the slightest inch gave a shit ton of pain.
I started to blackout due to the pain, I didn't even care to check about the driver of the car since it was that person who crashed into us on a completely open road.
I could hear the siren's wailing, I could feel people lifting me.
I woke up to an obvious hospital ceiling, I looked to my front and the room was pretty spacious, with a giant ass tv in front.
I turned to my left to see a man in a black suit, sitting and scrolling through his Kpad.
he looked at me with a stern look.
"Sir, do you now realize why you need bodyguards?"
I sighed, "come on now, how would have bodyguards helped me in a car crash, by making a meat shield?"
he shrugged "there would have definitely been a different result."
that's when it hit me, I sat up "How long have I been out!?, and where is Caitlin?" I literally screamed at the top of my lungs
I had never found myself in this much anxiety before, it almost felt like my heart would jump out of my mouth, tons of scenarios rolled through my eyes, all of them involving Caitlin dying.
"calm down, she had a mild concussion and broke her ankle and her right wrist she will be fine and you have been out for about 6 hours now."
I took a breath of relief "so did I break any bones or stuff?"
"nope just some bruises and scratches nothing major you can go home right now if you want to"
"so why am I in the VIP wing when I only have bruises and scratches?"
"It looked like you were sleeping peacefully so I didn't wake you up, after all, you are working really hard these days"
I sighed since it was no use arguing with him. "take me to her."
she was in a private ward. I grabbed a stool and sat beside her bed. " you can go out now, do your work or something." I said as I wanted to stay by her side till she woke up. I didn't realize when I fell asleep right by her bedside. but when I woke up she was gently caressing my hair. I looked up and she quickly pulled her hand intending to not let me know what she was doing.
I looked at her face and I could tell she was on the verge of breaking down. there were dried tears clearly visible on her face. she looked like she had lost something very dear to her.
I was legit worried "what happened, are you in pain!?"
she shook her head. "adam, let's break up."
I looked at her "even though we have barely been together and the reason we started dating wasn't love but the time I spent with you was one of the best times I have ever spent in my life, so are you truly happy with breaking up?"
she nodded violently, but tears were flowing down her eyes like streams.
I calmly said "then, why are you crying?"
