Chapter 5: The Ball!
*Two Years Later*
The two years have been... busy for Adrian. Well, not really, but a normal guy would have collapsed sooner or later. Thinking of new products, gauging competition in different fields for the company, continuing my magic and technological studies, everything kept him busy. The main building of Avalon industries is now situated in New York. Lex is enough for Metropolis.
The gaming industry had skyrocketed from the start. Multi-players like Minecraft to simple in-game purchases in android games like Among Us. And yes, he made Among Us. This world needed entertainment badly. Adrian also included different mods in Minecraft as DLC's. Other games are COD and pokemon. He also started a network and PC security branch, which is responsible for making anti-viruses or data cloud storage.
Of course, Adrian always visited his family whenever he got time, that's a given. Clark has finished his studies and got a job in Daily Planet as well. And he is already head over heels for Lois Lane. In Adrian's opinion, she was interesting, to say the least. And opportunist would be the perfect term for her. She didn't hesitate to use Clark to get an interview from him, but Adrian didn't mind. Since Clark was well aware she was using him, he didn't say anything and let him resolve as he sees fit.
Another major thing would be the appearance of the Dark knight himself. The events played out similar to Batman Begins, but the whole thing actually spanned over the whole year. Adrian did get a good laugh seeing Gordon drive the batmobile haphazardly. Adrian did secretly knock out goons attacking others, he's not that self incited.
Anyway, Batman did thaw Raz Al Ghul's plan, but he would no doubt return. Because the energy radiating from his body indicates Lazurus pits were definitely a thing. One more thing to be wary of.
And Batman wasn't the only billionaire vigilante making an appearance. The search for Hood has also begun in Star City. But unlike Bruce Wayne, Adrian didn't find Oliver's carefree and playboy act convincing at all. Adrian did go to reduce casualties of the earthquake machines as much as he could, which included Oliver Queen's best friend, Tommy Merlyn. Adrian had an amused expression wondering what impact this butterfly effect would cause. He didn't have any problem in messing with the so-called 'intended way'. He would save whomever he could, or let everyone have a life not governed by fate as much as he could.
Adrian also had plans in visiting Central city soon as the particle accelerator was reaching its completion, and Adrian wanted to reduce as many casualties as he could. Of course, he's gonna try getting the speed force, who would miss such a golden opportunity?
But that was for later. Right now, he was getting ready for the charity gala Lex has organized, as he would also meet Bruce Wayne and Oliver Queen there. Adrian never introduced himself during the attacks, so this was technically the first time. Choosing a car, Adrian set off towards the venue of the ball.
*Sometime later*
"Ah, yes. I'm glad you two could join us. I understand your cities have been... hectic lately." A man said. He wore a completely white suit with a red tie and gave an aura like he was superior to those around him. But the most noticeable feature... was his bald head. This was obviously Lex Luthor, owner of Lex Corp.
And right now he was talking to two people. One wore a black suit with a blue tie, with black hair and sharp features, with a well-built physique, with a smile that could charm girls with a glance, Bruce Wayne. The owner of Wayne Enterprises.
While the other wore a green suit with a yellow tie, matching his blond hair and beard, and his physique was no less than the man beside him, Oliver Queen. The owner of Queen Consolidates.
"Yes, the city has been more chaotic than I remember. A bunch dressed as clowns getting chased by a man in a Halloween suit. Though he did save my company from blowing up, I guess." Bruce replied.
"Same here, the... undertaking has caused a lot of problems, and my mother's involvement is to be blamed as well. Queen consolidates is doing its best to restore the city to its former glory." Oliver Queen said with a solemn expression, while Lex nodded in understanding.
The three got distracted by the sudden noise near the entrance, which was followed by a burst of cheerful laughter. And it didn't take long for them to spot the reason for the fuss. In the middle of the crowd stood a man with almost golden blond hair and dreamy blue eyes, wearing a blue suit and a golden tie, contrasting his eyes and hair, Adrian Kent himself. He shook hands with everyone with a smile and moved in.
"So that's Adrian kent?" Oliver asked, raising a brow.
"Indeed," Lex replied with a nod, while Bruce just observed. After greeting a few people, Adrian saw the group of three and came towards them with a smile.
"Mr. Luthor," Adrian said, putting forward his hand.
"Mr. Kent," Lex said, shaking the hand.
"As I've said before, just call me Adrian, Mr. Kent's my dad," Adrian replied.
"And as I've said before, just call me Lex," Lex replied back with a smile of his own.
Adrian then shifted his attention and said, "It's nice to meet you, Mr. Wayne. You gave quite a surprise, coming back from the dead. And the same goes for you Mr. Queen, nice to meet you as well."
"The pleasure is all mine, Mr. Kent. I read your thesis on hyperspace portals, quite fascinating. Just call me Bruce," Bruce replied with a smile but was analyzing Adrian at the same time. ' A well-built body, like a swimmer. His intentions seem pure, but heading a big company is bound to attract unwanted attention unless someone took care of it.' Bruce thought, throwing a glance at Lex.
"Nice to meet you too, just call me Oliver," Oliver replied too, and accessed Adrian as well, but not as thoroughly as Bruce.
"Well I heard your cities have become quite the hotspot," Adrian said, taking a drink.
"That's one way to put it," Oliver quipped back, as they clanged their wine glass together.
"Yes, hopefully, metropolis stays away from trouble. The cost of repairs would be quite high," Lex mused, getting a nod from Adrian. "So, how's life been after your return?" Adrian asked looking at the two.
"Good so far, the company's stable and I get enough time for myself," Bruce replied while sending a wink to one of the models that was looking towards us.
"Mine is still in the rough for now, but I hope to make amends," Oliver said.
"I wish you the best of luck. I also heard Dr. Ray Palmer is also looking into investing in Starling city." Adrian said, giving a hint to him, which he caught onto.
"Well, if you'll excuse me, I've to entertain the other guests," Lex said, finishing his drink and taking his leave.
Adrian then looked towards the two and asked, "Hmm, this may seem like a silly question, but what are your opinions on the vigilantes of your respective cities?" He asked, intrigued.
"Well, the guy dresses like a bat definitely has some issues, but at least there is someone who took a step to stop Gotham from becoming hell," Bruce said, dismissing the conversation.
"And the one in my city is rather known as a serial killer, and I honestly don't know much either, except he wears a hood and uses a bow and arrow against criminals with guns." Oliver gave his take, then asked, "What are your opinions on this?"
Bruce also looked towards Adrian for an answer, while he took a thinking position and replied, "Well, honestly, I think your cities would grow more chaotic after a while."
"Why's that?" Bruce asked.
"Well, your cities would take time to recover, but the underworld gangs won't let this opportunity pass either. Plus, the vigilantes were successful so far because the gangs were in kind of a comfort zone, ready for the police, but they didn't expect them. And now, they would find ways to deal with them. Bigger guns, new tricks. If that doesn't sound the recipe for disaster, I don't know what does." Adrian finished his explanation. Bruce and Oliver had gotten serious mid-explanation, and they had to agree with his assessment. Things are definitely not so easy for the in the future.
"Well, I'll take my leave as well. Hope we meet again." Adrain finished is drink and said.
"Sure, drop by whenever you visit Starling city." Oliver shook his hand again.
"Same here. Do visit if you come around Gotham." Bruce said and shook hands as well.
"And I invite you to drop by whenever you're in New York." Adrian said and left.
