Chapter 1: Start of Life, The Greatest Hunt (Prologue)

"So I'm dead?" I asked, my face twisting into a scowl as I looked at the blurry entity in front of me, "Bullshit," I stated as I crossed my arms, leaning back against the chair I was sitting in.

"I'm afraid not," the entity said, giving me the distinct impression that it was smirking at me, "You died at 2:02 AM, in your sleep, after being stabbed by an intruder on the 29th of January, 2020. You're dead," it said, it's voice melodic and gender-less, yet also indifferent and emotionless. It was odd sounding, honestly.

Before I could even try and refute it, screens showed up, showcasing all of my life's biggest moments, ending with - you guessed it - my death.

"Do you believe me now? If so, please let us move on," the entity begged, it's emotionless voice beginning to fill with impatience. I wanted to speak out but found that I couldn't - this bastard was keeping my mouth shut!

How?!

Is it some kind of God? Or is it THE God?

"I'm going to reincarnate you. Why? Because I can. Every person I can divert from Heaven and into Reincarnation weakens that old bastard and strengthens me," the entity's voice finally left it's emotionless state as the blurry image shimmered, as if in joy and elation. It floated through the table and got close enough to me that I thought it was about to eat me or something.

It was vaguely human in shape, yet it also had inhuman traits. It was incredibly tall for one - easily 9 foot tall, and it had the width and frame to go with it as well. Even with the foggy white gas covering and hiding it's appearance, I could tell that it was massive and built to perfection.

It looked down at me, it's foggy face swirling and morphing like a hurricane, before it backed up and sat down on it's massive chair once again.

"24-years-old, human, male, average intelligence, quite frankly inhuman fighting potential...you were truly born in the wrong time. Put back a few hundred years and you'd have flourished...but when you were born? Talent left to waste away and when you used it, you were admonished. Why that bastard thinks Humans are so good will forever be lost on me..." the melodic voice spoke, seemingly with annoyance, yet also pity as it looked at me with what I could barely see as a frown.

I felt the force keeping my jaw closed loosen, so I opened my mouth and spoke out, trying to keep myself calm as I did, "So...reincarnation? Like in those novels? Then...you should be giving me some wishes, right?" I asked, my voice shaking as all the meaning of this situation was coming crashing down on me. The pressure. The uncertainty.

Everything.

"Yes, you'll get some wishes. One of those wishes will be used to decide where you'll be going and when. The other four can be used as you want," it waved it's hand and I decided to distract myself with the thought about what wishes I wanted.

I decided, that first I should decide where and when I want to be sent.

"DC," I spoke with a definite voice, feeling myself slowly dissociating myself with the situation and putting myself in an outside perspective looking in - so I didn't freak out, I'd presume. "Before Superman comes to Earth."

Gesturing for me to carry on, I looked at the entity's figure and remembered one thing I could wish for. But the thought of the 'side-effects' caused me to reel a bit, so I changed what I was about to say. "I wish to be a Human-Yautja Hybrid with perfect genes, having the absolute best of both species in this next life."

Knowing the entity wasn't going to answer me or even rate my wishes, I just carried on to my next wish, "I also want to have all the information about Yautja customs, traditions, their weapons and how to use them, and their martial arts and all their ways of training. This wish should also include their technology," I was really focusing on this aspect so I didn't freak out. I may have been a fighter but finding out you were being reincarnated and that Heaven and heavenly beings were real? It was enough information to shock anyone.

"Two to go. Make them count," the entity said, tapping away at the table. Though I couldn't dodge the slight suspicion that he was happy or at the very least pleased with my choices so far.

"My fourth wish will be to look more human than Yautja, but to not lose any strength because of it. At the very least my face will look more human, with hair instead of those 'dreadlocks' Yautja usually have," I said, knowing that I needed to at least fit in so I could get strong enough. It may seem like a wasted wish, but I had to make sure I wasn't killed for looking different, or being held in a lab because I was obviously an alien. Or at least half-Alien.

After saying this wish, I sat down and just thought about what I'd need most. When I thought of DC, I knew what I needed most, so I based my last wish off of that thought.

"For my last wish, I wish for the ability to constantly evolve further down the Human-Yautja evolutionary route. Every time I train, my body should get better and stronger, but most of all, it should continue to evolve. This isn't me asking for adaptation powers, but asking for the ability to perfect the Human-Yautja Hybrid DNA I'm going to have. Is that clear enough?" I asked before quickly adding, "This evolution should have no limit. It should only require time and the correct stimulus," finishing this before the entity could speak, I felt glad I hadn't fucked myself over at the very end and just collapsed into my chair, leaning against the cool object as I looked at the blurry, foggy entity in front of me.

"...Good. Very good. Then I'll send you on your way. But as you didn't specify which DC universe, I'm gonna throw you in an amalgam which has other immortal characters - wouldn't want you to get bored and without challenges, would we?" the entity laughed, standing up and pointing at me, the fog around it's body amplifying in quantity and slowly crawling toward me. I could swear I could see the entity smile as it continued, "And, because you didn't specify a time other than 'before Superman comes to Earth', I'll do you a favor and put you quite a bit before he gets there. Get stronger in the mean time!" it cackled as the fog flowed over me, funneling into my orifices and choking me, not allowing me to speak or reply to the godly figure in front of me.

This...feels like how a god should act around a human - not caring about what they think or have to say. Not like those gods and goddesses who seemingly care for every random human they come across.

My vision was going white before it slowly faded to black.

With one last wave of fog entering me, I felt myself losing my sense of touch and every other sense I had. But as quickly as they disappeared, they re-appeared and I found myself in a jungle, the surrounding air hot and humid, and filled to the brim with insects that flew around. Occasionally, a bird would swoop down and eat an insect, and sometimes a bigger bird would swoop down and kill the bird who just ate.

This was life. A continuous hunt.

I felt my body thrum with need. A need to live life like that. But I also found out something incredibly annoying...I was a child.

I heard a rustling to the side of me and a group of three short-ish men came into few.

Each of them was decently muscular and each of them had scars scattered about their bodies. Each of them was holding a wooden pole, ending with a black rock, sharpened to a point - is that obsidian? - Each of them had tanned brown skin, black hair, and brown or black almond-shaped eyes. Even if they didn't look very tall, they were definitely stocky and wide giving them a different kind of feel compared to the people I was used to seeing. Each of them only wore a loincloth and had a bow and a quiver of arrows slung over their shoulders.

The leading man held up a hand before slamming his spear into the ground before coming near me and kneeling down, putting his leading hand underneath me and picking me up. Though he seemed surprised by something - my weight maybe? - and brought his other hand to support me.

He held me like someone who wasn't used to holding a baby - he held me more like a sack or a big rock, if anything.

But him picking me up showed me something - where I had been lying. Or rather, who I'd been lying by.

A dead woman, the same kind of appearance as the man carrying me, covered in blood and leaking it from her genital region. Looking down at my body with my eyes, I saw that I was covered in her blood. Looking back to her, I realized this was my mother, but I didn't really feel much for her. I hadn't had a time to bond with her, of course. But there was something else. A whisper at the back of my mind, telling me that the weak needn't bother surviving.

...I'd say that's my Yautja instincts.

The man, oblivious to me thoughts, or even that I was capable of thought, lifted me up a little and by chance a leaf above me fell out of the way, allowing a ray of light to illuminate my bloodied appearance. This caused the man, and the other two men to give out gasps of surprise, and the man holding me finally said something.

"Eztli," he spoke, his voice deep and grim, the other two men repeated the word before I was held in one arm and the man picked up his spear and we got to going through the jungle again.

Did...did I just get adopted?

CREATORS' THOUGHTS
Yautja Yautja

The last part of the chapter should tell you where and when he is. Short but stocky, brown-skinned and wearing loincloths? It couldn't be anyone but the Aztecs!

Lets see how a Human-Yautja Hybrid makes his way up the ladder.
