Chapter 48: Chapter 48: We Are Just Tools

Since H'el became Emperor, the world underwent a tremendous transformation.

First and foremost, the entire Earth adopted a universal language, establishing English as the global language.

After the adoption of English as the official language, Dawn's promotion was intriguing.

Worldwide, for every person who learned, memorized, or understood the meaning of a each deep English words, they were rewarded with 10 H'el coins. The first words earned them 10 coins, the second 11 coins, the third 12 coins, and so on. The more words they learned, the better the rewards.

With so many words, it was an incredibly enticing opportunity, almost like free money.

Additionally, there were official language proficiency ratings. Proficiency in language construction, idiom interpretation, essay writing, and more were rewarded with hundreds or even thousands of H'el coins.

It wasn't just English; the entire world was immersed in a reading and learning culture.

Mathematics, chemistry, physics, and other subjects offered financial rewards for those who memorized the multiplication tables, chemical formulas, and scientific knowledge. When someone achieved a certain level of expertise in a specific discipline, or a comprehensive mastery deemed achievable by an ordinary person after five years of effort, they were rewarded with superpower gene medication, granting them superhuman abilities.

Within the first month of announcing these educational incentives, over seventy million people became superpowered individuals.

The world was swept up in a fervor for knowledge.

No one could resist the allure of having superpowers—especially when it was an attainable dream through hard work and determination. When hope is visible, humanity can unleash terrifying efforts to reach its goals.

In the world, on every street, people walk while continuously listening to headphones and communicating in clumsy English using gestures.

Every moment pushed many humans to impatiently scratch their heads, their learning endeavors sometimes frustrating, leading to the books being thrown in anger, only to be picked up again after cooling down to continue studying.

After capitalism and socialism, the entire Earth embraced intellectualism. Knowledge was the key to obtaining more, and only with more knowledge could individuals gain powerful superhuman abilities, esteemed positions, and the honor and wealth that came with it.

Four years later.

To this day, millions of people still successfully passed assessments daily, earning superpower gene medication, becoming admired superpowered individuals.

Jupiter, elegant and dressed in a professional suit, revealed her slender legs in black stockings. She stood on the rooftop balcony of H'el's palace, her hair ruffled by the cold breeze.

Using delicate fingers, she tucked her hair behind her ear. She squinted her bright eyes and gazed down at the grand palace and the towering redwood trees that sprawled across half of Washington, D.C., creating a magnificent setting.

Over the past four years, she had worked tirelessly to maintain human peace, constructing a colossal unified human endeavor, ushering in a new era of intellectualism. She felt a deep sense of satisfaction that overflowed from her chest.

She silently felt proud.

After four years under H'el's guidance and the influence of wielding power over many, she was no longer the young person who had once been determined to kill H'el.

Her thinking had matured. She now understood that no one could replace H'el. No one could substitute for an Emperor who came close to selflessness.

Everything was taken from the people and genuinely used for their benefit.

He was almost like a saint.

Even a year ago, diverting more than 40% of humanity's resources to create crystalline core energy sources could not harm the foundation of humanity. Human scientists even managed to develop cold fusion, thanks to the technological insights provided by H'el, propelling humanity towards nearly limitless clean energy.

Jupiter welcomed the cool breeze, her hair flowing. She wore a professional suit that revealed her slender legs in black stockings. She crossed her arms and smiled, asking, "Dawn, our Emperor, what will he do next?"

After a long period of interaction with Dawn, Jupiter had already noticed that H'el wouldn't hide anything from them, and Dawn wouldn't conceal anything for her master either. Dawn's words provided insight into H'el's plans, almost every day being about what he didn't want to do next.

So, Jupiter, who had discovered this pattern, asked every morning, and even though the answer was the same every day for four and a half years, she never grew tired of it.

Maintaining the status quo was the best outcome for her.

"Master is packing the crystalline core energy sources and waiting for Sylvia to return before leaving Earth," Dawn's tone unexpectedly carried a hint of regret.

Jupiter, who had been smiling, felt her expression freeze as her fingers, entwined in her hair, clenched into a fist, causing a tingling sensation on her scalp.

She received unexpected news that she couldn't accept: Why was H'el leaving? Was he never truly part of Earth? But he had everything here! And why did he have to take Sylvia? Why Sylvia?

"Why Syl?" Jupiter's bright eyes began to flicker with dangerous signals as her frozen smile curved into a wider arc.

She slowly lowered the fist, which had been near her ear, pulling out a cluster of hair that left tiny droplets of blood at the scalp pores.

It was she who had preserved and led the great achievements of H'el's empire. She had maintained peace between him and humanity, thwarted conflicts with the Human Rescue Society, all for the sake of human peace, ensuring he sat securely on the throne.

Why should he leave so easily? H'el couldn't leave! He couldn't take anyone with him!

"Why is it so simple to take away a foolish, brainless, lab-bound woman!" Jupiter exclaimed.

"Oh, Jupiter, don't you know? It's because Dr. Cery is the master's subordinate. You, me, and the entire Earth—we're all just tools," Dawn replied.

"I see. Thank you, Dawn. Where is Sylvia going to appear based on the travel time?" Jupiter inquired.

"According to the travel time, she'll appear on the coast of Anchorage around 11:34 AM tomorrow."
