Chapter 7: Chapter 6: Adam had friends
10:00 pm. January 11th, 2009. Saturday.
For the next five days, all I did was work and learn more about this world. This world is still behind on a lot of the events I was familiar with. Although, I would like it if those events never happen in the first place. I may end up six feet under earlier than I want to because of those events.
I realized something odd in the past few days. It was when I accidentally encountered the uncle's family on my way back from work. Usually, they would make fun of Adam or throw insults at him on such an encounter but they seemed to be avoiding me. I mean I was avoiding them as well but it's odd seeing them avoid me.
I remember from Adam's memories that the uncle's family would make him do work for them whenever they saw him or even seek him out sometimes to make him do work but never avoid so obviously like that. It's almost like they are afraid. But the weirdest thing was that they even left food for me on the dining table. Not scraps or leftovers, proper food. It was just sitting on the table with a post-it note saying my name on it. I was skeptical at first but the food was okay, there wasn't any type of anything mixed in. It was just plain old food.
It makes me question even more about what actually happened the past few days before I woke up in this body. It is honestly infuriating that I don't know but I can't do anything about it.
I didn't get around talking to any of Adam's two friends. Also, I have no idea how I can go about interacting with them. The way Adam talked and behaved was very different from mine. He was a lot more timid and shy than I am. He also didn't express himself very well. I don't think I can pretend to be him. I feel like I shouldn't even try and just be me. I mean people change all the time, it's no big deal.
It's a Sunday tomorrow and they should be free. Adam's friends I mean. I checked the texts they sent before. It was just saying hi and whatnot. I'm responding to these texts about seven days after they were sent. They'll probably be mad. I said 'hi' back to them and asked if they could meet tomorrow. Both of them said they were free and agreed to meet in a park near the school.
With having nothing else to do and being very tired I turned it for the night.
