Chapter 3: Chapter III: Secrets
Underneath the mountain lies the bastion of all medicine that has advanced humanity thus far. They call it Project Hippocrates, but to many it doesn't exist.
The project has been running for several decades without public's notice, those who knew were either dead or missing.
Except one...
An old man in uniform tokes his pipe and blows out a smoke that spreads across his office then he turns his seat towards a fish tank behind his desk. he stares at it for a while, seemingly unbothered.
Then suddenly...a knock on the door.
" Come in! " he speaks in a stern tone.
" Hey sir, there's an unidentified personel in sector 11 above, it looks like he's skinning a deer?" the young officer tells his superior.
The old man turns his seat around and looks directly into the young man's face...
" Tell me sonny... " he takes the pipe off his mouth.
" What does the security protocol state? " he added.
The young buck nervously replies " To report this to our immediate superior sir..."
" No! , the next part..." the old man speaks with emphasis.
" To capture or eliminate any trespasser by any means should they be made aware of the facility sir!" the young man replies.
" Now Sonny, tell me... is he aware or should he be dead? "
" I don't know Sir..." the young man answers
" PROTOCOLS GODDAMNIT!!! " the old man screams in anger.
The young man not knowing what to do next stood there like a deer in a headlight, his head tilted down before his superior. he felt ashamed.
" Now go back to your damn post sonny, and read the goddamned protocols. " the old man commands in a composed manner.
Jean had butchered the deer and hung it by a low branch, he starts a fire directly below the meat he had hung to smoke it out and try to get rid of it's smell so as not to attract predatory animals like wolves.
" I think i'll make camp here he says " as he looks towards the thick forest and notice the sun setting.
" It's getting dark, i wonder where that fucker is by now " he thinks to himself with concern as he takes off the recording equipments strapped all over his grimy torso.
" Protocol for breach of sector 11, raise the iron curtain and release the fog. "
A slight shake in the ground followed by the creaking of metal hinges and bird noise filled the air around the area as the darkness suddenly heightened to pitch black. The startled Jean , dropped the grilled ribs he was munching on and stood suddenly with the feeling of paranoia setting in.
He kicks dirt over the fire and Grabs all of his equipment. With a wild look in his face, his eyes dart at every direction looking for anything that might give reason to what he heard. He doesn't feel full but a cold sharp unpleasantness enveloped his stomach.
" Gun ... radio... light ..." these were the thoughts running in his head. he held the gun with his right hand and a flashlight tightly with his left.
he walked and waved the light towards every noise he heard, the noises of rustling feathers and things clashing into things grew louder as he walks towards where he came from. What he saw made him limp in disbelief...
the thick vegetation was suddenly gone and in its place is a thick dark metal wall covering everything.
" This is it huh? " he thinks to himself as tears fall to his cheeks...
" I FOUND IT!!! " he screams in absolute ecstasy as his screams reverberate throughout the dome. The madman cries.
" Finally, 9 months worth of effort is paying off, i'll get to the bottom of all this soon. " he thinks to himself as he wipes all the mixed fluids covering his face.
He feels a sudden drop in temperature...
