Chapter 19: Chapter 15 - Compromise
I hear the sound of ocean waves. My eyes open as I find myself on the beach. How the hell did I get here.
"Wait up!"
I hear two young kids running up and falling on the sand in front of me.
"Alexandra stop running off"
The young boy sits next to his friend and hugs her tight. She smiles and leans her head on his shoulder "Your turning 11 tomorrow"
"Don't be jealous, you'll be in the double digits in another week " He says patting her head
I kneel down in front of them and hold out my hand
"Hi my name is Alena how about we find your parents, you two shouldn't be out here by yourselves" I say with a warmly
Silence. They continuing talking as if I don't exist
"I heard my parents talking about being each other's best friends and how much they love each other because they make each other happy. I guess I love you too since you make me happy and your my best friend" the young boy says to his friend
"Ewww then that means I love you too"
The both start laughing hysterically as they start throwing sand at each other.
"Um kids" I finally speak up
Nothing. No reaction. I go to touch the girl's shoulder and my hand goes right through like a ghost. What the fuck is this
"Khar promise we will always be together" the young girl says causing my heart to skip erratically.
Oh my god. It's Khar and Alexandra.
"I prom…"
SPLASH
I'm awoken by a wet substance. I start gasping for air as I'm hit with the sudden impact. Someone just fucking through a bucket of water in my face.
I finally catch my breath as my eyes open and start darting my surroundings. 3 men with guns guarding each pathway in the forest. I try to move and realize I'm tied to a tree.
"Alena Pierce.."
A middle aged woman walks up tossing the bucket aside. This is the bitch who threw water on me. She tilts her shades on her forehead and kneels down to my level
"My name is Alena Fields and who the hell wears shades at night"
She grins and shakes her head disapprovingly "We know who you are Ms Pierce. You're the daughter of Silas Pierce. Agent of Mercury Corp"
I wince when she mentions my father's name but I don't let her notice. Who is she.
"My father's name is Jason Gage and What the hell is Mercury Corp?"
I quickly try to throw her off course. She continues that ugly grin. I try to free my arms behind my back as the ropes start feeling looser.
"I'm going to make this simple for you. Take me to Gabriel Ellington. I'll end him and you get your daddy back. Life goes back to normal"
I can't let her notice my reaction. She must be one of Mercury Corp's targets. It still doesn't make sense how she knows so much
"I don't know who you're talking about. Sorry" I say with a smug smile.
She nods and starts backing away from me "Very well, you want to do this the hard way"
I look at her confused as I continue to try to free my hands. My body flinches from the pain after that crash. Wait Vick.
"Where the hell is Vick!" I scream at the lady as she smirks while continuing to talk to one the guards.
"Bitch I know you hear me" Margo is defiantly influencing me.
One of the men places his gun on the ground as he starts walking towards me. I tense up as I tug at the ropes. What is he doing.
He finally approaches me and his disgusting predatory eyes scan down my body.
"Who the fuck are y.." I'm cut off as an excruciating pain emerges from my stomach.
"Where is Gabriel Ellington!" the man yells, sending another hard blow to my stomach
"Who" I say smiling, trying to ignore the pain.
"She's tough. Definitely one of Gabriel's agents" The woman spits out
I feel the ropes behind me getting looser. I just need another minute.
Suddenly his filthy hands take my shirt and lifts it up. Showing my bare bruised stomach.
"You don't know who Mercury Corp is but you have the initial branded on your stomach"
Fuck. Now what
"It's my boyfriend's first initial" it's all I could think of in the moment
She laughs like a hyena as she signals her guy to injure me again. His next hit is brutal causing me to groan in pain. Blood starting to fill my mouth.
Can't lie, it hurts like a bitch
"Does the name Khar Evans ring a bell. Will one shot to the head be enough to get you to talk? The woman says grinning. Nothing mattered until she mentioned him. I would give my life for him. Over and over again. I won't let anyone hurt him or Cassie
I felt that rage surging inside of me. I couldn't control it. I wanted blood. I will protect my family at all cost.
I lift my legs and wrap them around the man's neck. Squeezing harder as he tries to break from my hold. Both men point their guns but the woman orders them to stand down. The adrenaline became stronger as my hands break free from the ropes.
The guard finally falls unconscious to the ground. I stand up and head straight for the bitch. Her guards run forward to protect her. Guns pointed in my direction, I instantly lift my arms in the air continuing to head towards them
"Stay where you are!" one of the guard's order.
I continue to hold my hands up as they approach me. I got them right where I want them.
I manage to pull the gun from one of the guard's grip and kick into his chest causing him to fly back against the ground.
The second guard comes behind me trying to grab ahold of my neck. I pull his arm and slam him over my shoulder as his back meets the ground.
I put my heel against his neck and press hard against his skin as it starts to bleed. Causing me to smile
"Stop!"
I look up and the woman is pointing a gun at me. My smile fades as more guards emerge from the forest. It had to be over 20. It's no chance of me surviving
"Listen Alena Pierce, either you give me Gabriel Ellington or I kill your beloved Khar" She says proudly.
I lift my heel from the guards neck as I look at the woman. All my energy was consumed. There was no way out of this.
I walk up to the woman as her gun presses into my chest. I open my arms out
"I won't give you Gabriel and You will not lay a fucking finger on Khar. Your going to kill me instead" I say kneeling down as I close my eyes. I accepted my fate. I'm sorry dad but I can't let Khar die. Please forgive me. I will be watching over you with mom and baby brother in heaven.
I know he can't hear me but I pray he will forgive me
"Kill me!" I demand
I feel pressure on my arm as she grabs me and pulls me through a path. Her men following behind us. Minutes later we approach a line of suburban trucks. We end up at the first one. She opens the door and pushes me in
"What's going on! Don't hurt Khar please I told you to kill me" I plead.
She puts her shades back on and sighs "Shut Up!"
She slides in beside me as one of her men jump in the passenger seat.
"Drive!" she orders
The driver heads though the path until we end up back on the highway. I keep quiet. All I can think about is Khar I can't lose him. God please take me instead
My thoughts are interrupted when a blindfold his placed against my eyes causing me to jump
"Keep quiet and don't say a word" She mumbles
All I could do was nod my head and sit in silence while they drive me to wherever the hell their taking me
We drive for what it feels to be 2 hours. We come to a stop and suddenly im pulled out of the truck. I'm still blindfolded.
I can feel the texture of pavement turn to a feeling of hardwood floor. I'm inside of a house or something. Maybe this is where they will kill me.
We walk for 10 minutes up multiple flights of stairs until we reach a door. I'm pushed inside hard, causing me to almost fall flat on my face.
"Remove the blindfold" The woman orders
One of the guards unties the blindfold as my blurry vision starts to get clear.
Hell No. This Has to Be A Fucking Dream
"I never been so proud of you" his voice escapes from his lips
