Chapter 31: Meaningless notion

Daisy's pov

Lights out, windows open, I sit in the corner which has become my world for two days. I gaze around the room which is engulfed in the dark except for the light coming from the bed lamp.

My eyes fall on the wall which is decorated with pictures. Pictures of me and Ron, of us all. There's only one picture of my family which is nothing but broken now.

A happy family, we used to be. It was taken when I was ten and Dy seven years old. Mum was smiling, holding Dy while I was in dad's arms, all of us smiling at the camera. That's the only happy memory of us. As a family.

With my eyes which could cry no more, I gaze out of the window at the hustle of people busy with some business. But what was I doing here? Drowning myself into misery. Into the depths of darkness where there's no escape.
