Under Alexander's crafty influence, Xeron's soul-snatching campaign intensified.

To expedite their march, Xeron left a fraction of his army to escort the siege equipment, ensuring they could catch up slowly. At Alexander's suggestion, this task fell to Leo, who led a contingent of hellhounds and little demons. Leo, reluctant to part with Alexander, kept rubbing against his legs. However, Alexander insisted, concerned for Leo's safety on the impending chaotic battlefield. The demon army might clash with the united elven forces at any moment, and Alexander wanted to minimize the risk of injury to his companion.

The immediate impact of this strategic decision was evident. The AvLee elves, responding to the demon invasion, had been evacuating civilians. Scattered villages marked their route eastward to the elven capital. Originally, they could have reached the safety of the city before the demon army's arrival. However, Xeron's forces accelerated unexpectedly. Caught off guard, many migrating elves found themselves stranded midway.

If encountering these migrating elves was akin to snacking, the real feast occurred on the fourth day when they encountered a division of the main elven force.

This division, led by a druid named Uland, aimed to protect the Gold Dragon Queen. The audacious demons even sent a challenge letter, proclaiming their intentions. Word of this bold move spread among the elves, enraging druids everywhere. Determined to thwart the demons, they abandoned their stationed cities and rushed to the defense of the gold dragons' nest.

The Gold Dragon Queen's nest, located roughly fifty kilometers from the elven capital, Middleham, aligned with the demons' route. The inevitable clash occurred as both forces converged on the eastern side of the land. The elves, in their withdrawal, now faced the relentless advance of Xeron's demon army.

The forces under Druid Uland's command were formidable, rivaling Xeron's army in size, setting the stage for a fierce confrontation when the two armies collided.

In the midst of the battle, Xeron, showcased his exceptional magical powers. While he usually refrained from using magic against smaller groups, the scale of this engagement demanded a different approach. Positioned amidst his troops, Xeron raised his scythe, unleashing a cascade of magical radiance that enveloped the demon army in protective enchantments like Shield, Stone Skin, Fire Shield, Bloodlust Slayer, and Precision.

Alexander found himself enchanted as well, his admiration growing for Xeron's magical might. Even with the use of Bloodlust, Alexander knew he would barely match Xeron in sheer physical strength. However, the introduction of Xeron's potent magic tipped the scales decisively, making it clear that Alexander would be no match for the high-rank demon.

Unlike the limitations of demonic physical strength, magic offered a versatile advantage. It not only allowed self-enchantment but also enabled the weakening of adversaries, creating a significant disparity in combat effectiveness. With the array of spells cast on him, Alexander, could effortlessly contend with mid-level elven soldiers.

Druid Uland's diverse troops comprised not only dwarfs, wood elves, and silver pegasi but also an array of druid guards and unicorns.

The unicorns, majestic creatures with snow-white coats and imposing musculature, bore long, spiral-shaped horns on their foreheads. When these unicorns united in a charging onslaught, the threat they posed was immense. Recognizing the imminent danger, the demon army prioritized eliminating the unicorns, well aware that their combined force could shatter the demon ranks at any moment.
