Chapter 3: Chapter 3
The coffee house 'San kofee' was booming in business. But the stay house has no guests. I know they would come. And, I also know that they will not come till midnight. The very reason of trying to scare my assistants to death and leave the job. I am very dissatisfied with them.
"I will charge him more money," Anne said firmly.
"CREAKKK..."
"KIKIKI..."
A dog came from behind the darkness of the storeroom. It was slightly bigger than my Kuro. He comes forward and barks.
"You cannot talk, can you?". Anne asks the dog.
Jumping all over me as if I am understanding her. I know somehow that the soul is a female dog and looks like she is in pain. "Are you in pain?". She shakes her head and pulls my dress as if asking me to follow her to a small trail by the river.
I saw a bundle of rags that was moving violently and a whine comes out from it. I knelt and saw five puppies in the rag, mewling for milk. Some pace away, I saw the dog standing amidst tall grass and glowing brightly, looking sad. As I approached the place, a strong pungent smile hit me like a truck. I swear that this smell is too strong even for a dead creature. The dog must have died in a car accident or something else. I was inspecting closely, the wounds were overflowing with a dark aura. I didn't mind much. I know. I am new and do not have much experience. I shrug it off, thinking it will not affect our guest house.
I buried the dog in the field. So that her soul can be in peace. She was standing with her pups beside me as I bury her under the soil. I can feel the worry of her kids growing up alone and cannot defend themselves.
"I will take care of them until they grow up", Kuro said firmly. The pups were nuzzling Kuro. From my calculation that these litter of pups can see my Kuro. And they can also feel the bond of kinship with Kuro. Kuro was very delighted that he can be a father to them.
I somehow can feel that Kuro always wanted kids of his own. Here is the opportunity of having the experience with kids. I am very excited that how will Kuro raise them and their future.
I take them back coffee house and clean the litter of the pup and feed them some milk.
Later, I went to the inner room of the stay house and got the register 'Book of souls'. The book has her name, said Tima. I marked her as death and she rests in her room.
Like that 49 days went by, Tima departed for the underworld. Kuro was taking care of the pups and grown a lot after rescuing them.
My shop assistant contacted their friends who want the pups. I was very happy that each one of the pups got home and happiness.
