Chapter 2: Chapter 2
Senna looked out onto the table. There are 14 chairs. Six on each side and two at the head and foot of the table. She was sitting four chairs apart and was on the opposite side of the table from her parents. On the table were many dishes. She saw California rolls, salmon, fruit salad, garden salad, three different drinks, soup, and bread. There was two of everything on both sides of the table.
"Why do we always have to have so much food out. There's only four of us," Senna thought to herself.
"Now Senna," Mrs. Yotsuba spoke calmly. "You and your brothers flight to Estralia is this evening." Kano walked into the dinning room and took a seat two chairs away from Senna. "When you guys get there there will be a driver to take you two to the houses we bought."
A big grin was clearly showing on Senna's face."We have separate houses?"
"We thought that you and your brother would like more space so we bought separate houses for the both of you," Mr. Yotsuba explained. "Now, since you two are joining mid school year there will only be two days before the "Ranking Games". You guys will get into the top ten do you understand me?"
"Yes father," Kano and Senna both said in unison.
Mrs. Yotsuba clapped her hands together. "Great! Now you two may eat." Senna got some of everything and and started eating. No one said anything as they ate.
"This silence is killing me," she thought to herself as she ate a California roll. "The sushi is really good." Senna said trying to start a conversation.
"Of course it's good. We only eat the food made by the best chefs in this country," Mrs. Yotsuba said flatly. No one said anything after that.
"Okay... that didn't go as planned. Let's try again," Senna thought frowning. "What's the weather going to be like when we get there?" She said making another attempt of conversation.
"Hot and there will be clear sky's," Kano said not looking up from his plate.
"The maids will pack your clothes so don't worry about it. Just focus on your outfit for the plane ride," Mr. Yotsuba said. "Since you two are Yotsuba's you will attract a lot of attention. You guys need to look your best, act your best, and be your best. Your actions reflect on the rest of your family so don't embarrass us."
"Understood," Kano said politely.
Senna felt a chill down her spine. "Yes father. I won't disappoint my family."
"Not what I wanted but it was something. Let's keep the conversation going," Senna thought as she made another attempt of conversation. "What will our ho-" She asked before being interrupted by he brother.
"Stop with the pointless conversation. We're trying to eat," Kano ate some of his salmon.
"Sorry for interrupting you guys's dinner," Senna sank into her chair. "Rude," Senna thought frowning. She quickly finished her food and stood up from the table.
"I'm done eating so I am going to get dressed now," Senna said politely.
"Be ready to go in two hours. You are dismissed," Mrs. Yotsuba said without looking at her.
"Everyone in this house is toxic," Senna thought to herself as she walked away from the dinning room.
