Chapter 12: After that
"We meet again!" I smiled as I greeted the siblings, who had akward expression, I guess Fredta told them that I was the sword hero when she asked for a timeout a few minutes ago.
"Ah yes sir!" X2 both of them replied being overly formal I sighed, I guess they will understand soon enough travelling with me.
"Take a seat, what exactly did you tell them?" I asked Fredta who was standing at the side.
"Just that you are the sword hero and a fucking idiot" she replied at least she hadn't changed.
"Thank you very much," I replied and looked at the siblings, "So just behave as you normally would and don't belive this hag"
"Huh? I think you want another sparring match"
"At least let me be on equal grounds, I will wipe the floor with you"
As we bikered I could see the twins were staring to relax a little.
I smirked, "My name is Adric," I introduced myself as they nodded.
"Kelin"
"Arna" they introduced themselves though I already knew thier names.
"Listen, its fine if you don't want to join. I am not going to force you into it.
However you can think about it,
mostly due to the dangers you will face if you join my party, death obviously since you will be fighting monsters, posibly being branded a criminal since the king is a fucking idiot. As for the benefits, you will get the boost from being in a hero's party, plus I can help you improve your skills and I will pay you a nice amount of money."
They looked at me, as they nodded,
"I will be leaving tommorow so tell me by then" I added and got up, as I grinned at Fredta.
"Remember I won the bet"
"Fucking hell, I know you don't need to drive home the point alright." she replied sure enough even she was little off balanced since I was the sword hero.

3rd POV
"What do you think?" Kelin asked as his sister looked at the stairs Adric had just climbed.
"Well he is strong, strong enough to fool my intincts. I don't doubt that our strengths can improve but its just that I can't read him at all. In the Arena he was like any other swordsman in the initial round, then became a predetor that played around with us after which he turned into a vetran fighter" Arna replied as Kelin looked at her.
"What about the royal family?" He was still hesitating.
"We already don't like them." Arna shrugged they both became silent.
Before finally Kelin spoke up.
"I am going to ask for his help in getting Nan out" he said as Arna looked at him, while Fredta remaind silent on the matter.
"It's not a bad idea, but that guy is still a high ranking noble."
"We don't really have a choice do we?"
"I wouldn't trust that bastard" Fredta spoke up.
"And why would you say that?" Arna looked at her curious.
"From what I have seen he tends to do things his way,"
"And what's the problem with that?"
"Not everyone will agree with it,"
Fredta replied as the siblings looked at her, as Kelin just smirked.
"We both have been doing that for a while now, haven't we" He said as Fredta looked at them.
"Anyway what was the bet that you both made?"
".."Fredta didn't say anything as Arna's intrest piqued.
"Why aren't you answering? we need to know about him don't we?"
"service" Fredta muttered, as Arna didn't quite catch it.
"Say again?"
"He asked for a year of free service" Fredta replied gritting her teeth.

Both the siblings controlled thier laughter seeing Fredta who hated losing gritting her teeth.
"He might not be so bad!" Arna said only to get a glare from the former.

Adric POV
Next morning Adric, was sitting looking at the siblings who had just told them.
"So this nobleman, Kelot he rules in the next town?"
"Yes" Kelin replied as I thought about it, if I do rescue their Nan it will most likely put me at odds with the noble who was quite powerful but then the siblings will be in my debt.
"And he demanded 200 gold to get your Nan back?"
They both nodded, if I were to belive them, then teh noble was asking around $2.6 million in ransom.
"I know she is a demi-human but please sir.." Arna informed.
"It doesn't matter if she is demi-human or not, but I need to know what I will be facing, if they have a high ranking adventurer with them then it is us who would have to cave into their demands." I cut her off as she looked at me.
"They have three level forties with them" Fredta finally spoke up,
"Then we will have to wait until the three of us reach it" I added as both the siblings turned silentI saw them they were frustrated. I sighed
"Or the other thing we can do, is you take the two hundered coins from the five hundered that I won, but you won't be paid until the end of the waves" their expressions brightened up but Fredta slammed her hand into the table.
"You are just taking advantage of the situation" she glared at me.
"Its not a bad deal for them since according to you Kelot is very close to the king right? I intend to get back the two hundred gold in blood, to send a message to that dumbass if he tires something" I replied as the three looked at me.
"They get thier Nan back, and potentially get a payback on the noble, while I get to play around with the king's loyalist potentially reducing his power" I replied.
The three fell into deep thought as I continued.
"So what I am giving you are three choices, first we wait until we can take your Nan back just by appearing at the noble's house. Second we take her by force potentially killing Kelot.
Third, you take her now but won't be paid until the waves are over, and then we kill Kelot later. Those are the choices that I am giving you"
"What if we betray you later and run away?" Kelin asked as I just smiled at him,
"What do you think will happen?" I guess my question got the point across.
Arna looked at Kelin before nodding slightly, as Fredta looked at them it was clear she cared deeply about them,
"We will take the third option" Kelin replied as I nodded, then looked at Fredta.
"If it gives you any sense of relief our bet is on hold until I get thier Nan back." I said as I got up, "we will be leaving soon, as for you do you know anyone who is good with slave creasts and can keep their mouth shut?" I asked Fredta who nodded.
"Get them for me, we will have to remove that crest from her, if we rescue her. We will need to leave fast before Herlos get a wiff of me" I added and the other three nodded.
Time to go rescue a lady.
