Chapter 58: Chapter 58: Reveal Wood Release

Yakushi Kabuto was certain that if he were to be hit by the powerful waterfall-like flow of water, he would suffer severe injuries. Without hesitation, he swiftly dodged as the torrent crashed heavily onto the ground. The impact created a massive splash that soared more than ten meters high, drenching everyone in the area.

The rain affected not only Sato, the caster, but also Tsunade, who knelt behind him, Shizune, who had been defeated by Kabuto, and Naruto, who was overwhelmed. Amazed at the remarkable water flow created in a waterless environment, Kabuto pondered the young boy's abilities. Despite losing his arms, he clung onto the Kusanagi sword and continued pursuing Orochimaru, who had been defeated by Jiraiya and was also caught in the rain.

Similar to Tsunade's drunken state the night before, Orochimaru seemed to see his idol's reflection in Sato. Impressed by the tremendous chakra emanating from Sato, Orochimaru wondered if he was truly an ordinary person.

Yakushi Kabuto, holding Sato's Ninja Info Card, was familiar with the young boy's background. Sato, the top student in his grade throughout his six years in the ninja school, was the first civilian student to achieve this. Kabuto recognized Sato's talents in illusion, perception, Body Flicker Technique, and medical ninjutsu. However, these talents, while exceptional within the ninja school, might only be sufficient for a Chūnin level if not paired with a skilled teacher.

Luckily for Sato, his guide and Jōnin instructor happened to be Konoha's expert in illusions, Kurenai. Under Kurenai's guidance and training, Sato had the potential to become an illusion Jōnin in the future. This was Kabuto's assessment of Sato. Nevertheless, the impressive display of Water Style and the massive chakra required to create such a water flow shattered Kabuto's preconceptions.

"This kid is not to be underestimated! Could he have been hiding his true strength during his time at the ninja school?" Kabuto questioned as he raised his glasses with his palm. He formed Chakra Scalpels in both hands and swiftly charged toward Sato. Determined to uncover whether Sato was concealing his abilities, Kabuto proclaimed, "Genjutsu: Bringer-of-Darkness Technique~."

Observing Yakushi Kabuto's attack, Sato, now wearing the 'Genin' vest, also engaged in a battle of illusions with Kabuto, who was also a 'Genin'. Suppressing 99% of his true power, Sato unleashed one of his best illusions, known as the 'Genjutsu Clones.' Two shadow clones materialized beside Sato, attacking Yakushi Kabuto alongside the real Sato.

However, this non-Sharingan illusion had no effect on Kabuto, a Jōnin level shinobi skilled in Yin escape techniques. Even against Kakashi, his illusions had been ineffective. Kabuto effortlessly dispelled Sato's clones with a flick of his hands. Surprised by the ease with which his illusion was broken, Sato, who was seeking an opportunity to strike Kabuto, wore a look of astonishment on his face.

Seizing the moment, Kabuto swiftly lunged forward, using the Chakra Scalpel to sever Sato's Chakra Pathway System. At that moment, several shurikens flew toward Yakushi Kabuto with incredible accuracy, accompanied by the sound of piercing through the air. Such precision in throwing required exceptional accuracy, insight, or perception. Kabuto effortlessly deflected the shurikens and glanced at the girl with red hair who had thrown them. His eyes sparkled beneath his glasses.

Devoting his attention to Orochimaru and Tsunade, Kabuto had been channeling his Yin Release chakra since the start of the battle. It was through this focused state that he easily dispelled Sato's illusions without the need for hand seals and sensed the tremendous chakra emanating from Sato. Similarly, when Kabuto noticed Karin, he immediately sensed her remarkable chakra.

Accompanying Kabuto was Orochimaru, who was chasing the weakened Jiraiya, and Karin's powerful chakra caught Orochimaru's attention. Excited, Orochimaru commanded, "Capture her!" Kabuto understood Orochimaru's intentions and swiftly abandoned his pursuit of Sato. Instead, he rushed toward Karin.

Witnessing this, Sato's expression changed dramatically. Using his utmost speed with the Body Flicker Technique, Sato caught up to Kabuto and aimed a kunai at him. Kabuto, taken aback by Sato's ability to catch up, considered the young boy's talent in the Body Flicker Technique. With a sneer, Kabuto retorted, "Don't get in the way!"

In an instant, Sato let out a deafening roar akin to a lion, shouting, "Rage—Erupt!!!" Blue chakra flames erupted from Sato's body, releasing an overwhelming surge of energy. The intense vibrations caused Orochimaru and Jiraiya to halt their fight, drew Tsunade's attention despite her fear of blood, shocked the injured Shizune, and left Naruto in awe as they turned to look at Sato.

Suddenly, Sato unleashed an unfathomable display of chakra. The land beneath them trembled as countless cracks spread across the earth. Saplings burst forth from the cracks, rapidly growing as if time had accelerated. Within seconds, a palm-sized sapling transformed into a towering tree several meters tall. The branches intertwined, resembling giant pythons, instantly creating a vast forest.

The sea of trees engulfed everyone, including Sato. The earth continued to crack and more saplings emerged, spreading outward like a group of snakes released from their cage. A view from above would reveal the expanding sea of trees, steadily growing with each passing second. Soon, an astonishingly large forest appeared on the grassland. It was as if a realm of trees had descended upon them.
