After the young girl killed those zombies I looked back to see the group of humans looking scared and angry again with these humans fearing the unknown "Wh-what was that!" An older woman said with fear in her eyes "I gained a sort of
power that makes me stronger I guess." The young girl said with a little bit of a timid look on her face.
"If you had this much power than why didn't you help sooner if you had my wife would be alive right now she died because of you!" Am middle aged man spoke up what a joke his wife didn't die because the girl it was no ones fault it's just that humans want to blame something as I'm thinking this I look over to the girl she looked dejected even though she had just gained this power she was blaming herself for not using it sooner poor girl I wish I could defend her. "Get her out of here she probably is gonna kill us all we need her to go back to where ever she came from we can't have her here!" A young girl yelled I looked at my apostle and spoke "It's not your fault child you are not responsible for the death of anyone here's loved ones remember you are not a monster." She looked a little relived hearing that someone was on her side then a look of surprise when a rock almost hit her face "Monster! You are probably trying to kill us all aren't you go away we don't want you here go and kill your self for all I care!" The young girl then turned around and made a sound that was unmistakably the sound of someone crying these humans truly are disgusting "Hey let's go you don't have to stay here." I said in a calm voice "I want to go but they could die." She said still crying "These people aren't worth your kindness you understand!" I said pointing to her then she looked up gave me a smile "Ok I'll go." As she said that she got up and walked away I soon followed. After about a mile or so we ran into a few zombies which were quickly dealt with "So what's your name?" I asked "You want to know my name?" She looked confused "Yeah why do you ask?" She looked embarrassed as she was about to speak "Well you know your death and everything so I kind assumed that you already knew everyone in the worlds names." I laughed at this it wasn't ridiculous for a human to assume such a thing but this was funny to me "Sorry I don't mean to make fun of you it's was just a little funny to me." Her reaction to this was to puff out her cheeks and turn around "Anyway my name is April!" I chuckled a bit more. "That's a fine name."
(10 DAYS LATER)
April had managed to get to a military base were she is living comfortably for now everyone is pretty nice their and the living quarters aren't that bad the only problem for me at least is the young children not that I can interact with them it's just that I never got their innocence as they are just gonna die anyway. Suddenly I got a tap on the shoulder "Death how's your day" She said giddily "It's alright how's yours." Her face turned a bit serious "Well it's not going well some of the soldiers stated that theirs a hoard of zombies that was spotted heading are way that was a day ago and it was about 50 miles away then so their recruiting civilians to fight and their sending all the kids and women away I was going to ask you if I should help." She looked like she was really intent on helping I have no plans on stopping her those humans going into that fight we're probably going to die anyway from what I've seen it would normally take 5-10 armed humans to take down one zombie I looked up and noticed April standing their looking down probably waiting for my approval. "Fine I'll allow you to help but you know these humans may fear you if you show them what you really are." She looked pressed for second before looking up "I'm prepared even if they see me as monster I'm prepared even if they kick me out and leave me to die these people have families and I don't want them to feel the same pain I had to." Those words had more than just a hint of pain in them I'm starting to question the gods decision in making the human race. "April what are you doing over their talking to yourself!" A woman soldier in her 20,s yelled at April she seemed a little annoying but she was nice to April so I'm fine with it "Oh Cecil I'm just thinking as all it's pretty stressful around here lately." Cecil looked a bit conflicted for a second before giving April a smile "Don't worry me and the rest are gonna kick some zombie ass!" After she said that her and April started to laugh as I was about to turn around and walk away Cecil pulled out the gun from her holster and pointed it in my direction "Who's there!" She looked confused as if she just saw a ghost this girl has keen senses it makes sense that she's in the military even the most perceptive people have trouble sensing me she did it the moment I moved. "I'm sorry I don't know what came over me April it's just I thought I heard something." She put her gun back in her holster and fell down "I'm sorry it's just I'm freaking out and with zombies coming here I just don't think I can stay calm!" April stared at her with a worried look "It's alright I don't think anyone can stay calm In this situation especially you who's gonna be fighting on the front lines." April said in a comforting voice and hugged her friend "Thank you really thank you you don't know how much those words actually mean to me you're a real friend April." Cecil stated happily "Oh please anyone could do that I just happened to be here." Cecil chuckled a bit after that "You don't get it April it doesn't matter to me that anyone else would do that it's just the fact that you were their for me ands that's all you need in a friend." After a bit more talking April got up and started to walk away I saw this glint in her eyes it was filled with determination looks like she had strengthened her resolve even more that girl is just to kind.
"No you can't fight!" The sight I saw was Cecil and April arguing "And I'm telling you I can fight!" They we're just getting more and more angry yelling at each other "Your just a little girl what do you even know about being on the battlefield!" April glared at her "In the world we live in now everyone should be prepared for battle!" Cecil had a pained look on her face "But you shouldn't have to a kid like you shouldn't even think about having to risk their life!" Cecil screamed on the verge of tears "I'm not gonna let you die on that battlefield protecting me like everyone else did like my parents did!" April creamed her voice getting weaker when she mentioned her parents "Fine you can fight in the battle but if you die I'll kill you!" She said wiping her tears before turning around and walking away.
It's the day of the battle the zombies are about half a mile away they'll arrive in a few minutes the numbers have thinned due to the traps set by the soldiers but not nearly enough to make a big difference. April and the other civilians also got some rudimentary training from the soldiers again it won't make much of a difference but that's not what I'm worried about April plans to not use her powers unless necessary I'm worried about her.
"Death it's time to go." April says this looking at me she has determination in her eyes
Cecil POV:
As we step outside the barrier in the distance we can see a hoard of about 200 zombies give or take at the very least we would need about 1000 soldiers to win this fight we have 200 soldiers and 300 civilians were fucked we all know that but we each have some sort of reason for it be it their job a sense of obligation or someone they need to protect maybe even all three well that doesn't matter now the fight is about to start "Men charge!!!!" The general screams as loud as possible we all run forward shooting doing the best we can but these zombies almost have an invulnerability to bullets so their pretty much useless but somehow we haven't managed to lose anyone yet….yet I looked over at the child I befriended April was her name she was too kind for her to have such a harsh life. We're doing just fine though maybe we won't have any deaths yeah right they're,s no point in lying to myself a lot will die we're just full of stamina since it's the start of the battle but it's weird not a single person has even been seriously injured hell we even managed to kill a couple zombies. "Yiiiiiiiiiiiieeeieieleiel!!!" A piercing scream could be heard across the battlefield I look to April just to check if she's still alright she was fine but when I looked forward I saw what looked like a zombie bear barreling towards me at an alarming speed I wouldn't be able to run away this is it this is we're I die not gonna lie it's scary I'm even shaking more than I ever have in my entire life but somehow I can't move I drop to my knees as the bear is about ten feet away from me this is it I never even got a boyfriend god my life was sad but it's not like I would get change it goodbye everyone. Huh I don't feel any pain I open my eyes and April is in front of me no no no no no no no don't tell me she jumped in front of that thing but now that I look closer she's holding something In her hand is that a scythe how is she holding back that massive bear back with just a scythe and her own strength "Goodbye grizzly." She said as she jumped up and cut the massive beast in half with her scythe glowing purple along with her eyes "Th-thank you." April gave me the same smile she always did "Your welcome Cecil!" After she said that she ran in the battle field everyone soldier and civilian eyes on her mowing down every zombie on the battlefield I was afraid not of her but of the massive presence next to her that seemed to be helping her out I always noticed something around her but this is what it was truly like it's presence was massive it felt like a bomb about to go off as if the true embodiment of death was right next to her so this this is true power within thirty seconds this petite kind little girl managed to kill every zombie left on the battlefield but I couldn't even see a drop of sweat on her. She's she's awesome! She's so cool. I quickly ran up to her and gave her a hug. "Cecil get off me I'm covered in blood!" She said looking embarrassed "No! You were so cool and brave out their you deserve a hug!" She looked away for a bit. "Okay! But don't hug so hard."
