Chapter 74: Friendship Breakup

Annalise took his hand while staring dumbly at him for a minute. She'd heard the name Amante whispered but it eluded her just as the door opened and Nicolás strolled out of his office, a tight expression on his face. He stopped and slowly his eyes moved from person to person staring at the intruders.

Sir Amante smiled. "Aah, Black." he started in a pleasant tone. "Seeing as you'd barged into my office the last time, I thought it would only be proper if I returned the favor, eh?"

Annalise saw Nicolás struggle to control his anger, his fury depicted heavily from how his orbs burned.

"Good to see you then." he turned to her. "go upstairs, Annalise."

"Oh not so fast, Nicolás. I am actually enjoying her company. Isn't that so?" he asked, his grip on her hand tightening until she winced and bit her lower lip to keep from letting out a cry.

"Let her go," Marco said.
