Chapter 1: BEGINNING
The year 3060, the earth had evolved. Mana was now flowing freely in the air. Earth's animals and plants were the first to evolve with the mana, turning them into Savage beasts.
They had somehow learned how to control and utilize Mana in their body which gave them abnormal abilities, some had the ability to enhance their body durability, strength and many more things in their bodies some had the ability to control elements like fire, wind, water, earth etc. some had abilities that were still under research.
with this these evolved beast terrorized mankind, feeding on them, mankind tried to retaliate with thier technologies and machines but they were all futile and since man couldn't control mana, they had to go into hiding.
But all these came to an end in the year 3086 when an unknown species came to earth.
They called themselves the TARRIS.
Where they came from was unknown, but their motive was known to all.
They were here to capture the evolved beasts and perform unknown experiments on them.
Slowly the evolved beasts were decreasing some went into extinction.
Seeing the opportunity for safety, mankind decided to put forth an alliance with the unknown species for safety and protection.
But instead of the expected alliance, the tarris took the opportunity to abduct the humans for experiments too.
These unknown species were slowly bringing an end to humanity until the year 3119.
they had been discoveries which proved that mankind could now control Mana, they could use Mana to bond with these evolved beasts and control them through something called the monster contract.
It involves a some process in which humans and the evolved animals would have to agree to merge their souls together to become one.
After much research, it was proven that after the merging process the stronger soul would become the life of the two parties.
meaning that if the human were to die the evolved beasts would also die with him since their souls were interlocked, but if the evolved beast were to die, it would just respawn after some time since it was the weaker soul.
Scientist also discovered that after the merging process the human and his evolved beast would share everything together sadness, happiness, hunger, weakness practically everything and even power too but in a more weaker version. This means that if a human were to feel sad, his evolved animal would also feel sad but not like the person with the emotion and vice versa.
After those discoveries, man decided to go into the monster contract with the evolved beast in other to rebel against the reign of the tarris.
After a long brutal war with the tarris, man had emerged victorious and the defeated tarris disappeared into thin air. No one knew where they had gone.
Some said they had gone back to their planet, some said they had fled to the underworld, some said they were still here hiding in plain sight and observing us waiting for the right time to strike.
No one knew for sure what had happened to the tarris.
After the war, humans had given these evolved beast a name, the DIVINE PETS. And they had coexisted with the humans happily and in peace albeit some divine pets were aggressive and would still kill any human that crossed it's path.
But that didn't stopped humans from living with the divine pets in peace.
After the war, we humans were still alert, ready for war at anytime, that's why starfield high was created to train young cadets like you to be prepared for anything at anytime.
With that, today's class is over. Don't forget, we have an upcoming monster hunting expedition next week Monday for all of you who don't have a divine pet yet.
After the class was dismissed and miss Tim had left, I took the opportunity to quickly escape the forseen danger.
I was almost out of the class when "hey chase, wait up" I heard a very familiar voice.
I turned to the owner of the voice. He had short blue hair, an athlete physique, perfect jawline, in short he was handsome, he was the heartthrob of the school given that we've only been here for three weeks.
He was the complete opposite of me, he was an extrovert, he was quite famous in this school as his father was one of the three nobles primates of this city, so you could say he was spoilt, really spoilt.
"what do you want Jake" I asked with a frown knowing what he was about to say
"don't be like that man, I'm only here to ask you if you would like to join me and my new friends, we're going clubbing since you love training on the weekends so I decided we should do it today and moreover what kind of friends would I be if I didn't invite my best buddy".
there it was, he always put me in a situation where I would have to leave my dorm, he knows that I'm an introvert yet he keeps bringing up useless stuff like I have nothing better to do.
Ok I admit I do have nothing better to do and I also don't train on the weekends but it's still not enough reason for him to bring me to whatever party he was going to.
Sadly I couldn't refuse him because he was my only friend
"haaa... alright Jake, but am not drinking
"it's not that I don't drink, but the last time I got drunk it was disastrous. Now am not going to go out of my way to explain what happened that day, but just know it was embarrassing, very, very, embarrassing. "Come on chase, look at your skinny arms, you need to gain some weight and what better way to gain weight than having a beer or two"
he was right I did look skinny but I was still adamant on drinking and there was no way he could make me drink.
"oh, is it because of your last incident with her, that was so funny you were like..."
Shut up you fucker, don't say it out loud
"okay, okay I'll have a beer when we get there, but that's it only one and am done" he had used his Trump card on me and that was what I hated the most.
I cringe so hard just by thinking about it, just know it gave me more reason to stay indoors.
"well see you at 7, and you know where to meet me" Jake said as he walked away.
"haaa..." I sighed "it's going to be a long day" I said while walking to my door.
After a few minutes of walking, I got to my dorm.
I raised my wrist to my door and on it was a watch, it was for students of this school only, it had a portable space in it for storing anything, it was your personal inventory, it was also used for transferring and receiving credits to anyone in and out of the school, it was used for communication, it was used to show your divine pet rank, tamer's rank, serial number and it was also the key to your dorm.

I withdrawed my wrist, pushed the door open and immediately fell on my bed.
It was a small room as dorms were not given fairly, because I had no special family background, so I wasn't given a special dorm but for Jake, he was living in a mansion for a dorm because of his father position.
And for my family whereabouts... let's just say I have no family.
My dorm was really small, I had a mini fridge next to the door, a desk in the middle a computer next to it and the bathroom was just by the corner.
All this things were given to you for free by the school management and as for how I got here? Well it turns out, after the tarris attack, humans has been on high alert, ready for anything and once you clock 16 you must be enrolled in a military school for divine pets tamers but this was not the only military school, but this was the only one in this city.
It was 3 pm in the afternoon.
" I need to get some shut eye before Jake calls, but before that I need to take a quick shower" I said while entering the bathroom.
After I was done showering, I took a look at myself in the mirror.
My brown hair was dripping little drops of water on my skinny body my jawline wasn't that perfect but it was still good and my brown eyes starred deep into the mirror. "Jake was right I really need to gain some weight" I thought to myself as I stepped out of the bathroom.
When I got into the main room I was surprised to see two objects lying freely on my desk, which means someone could also be inside my dorm with me.
