Chapter 1: Rebirth
"Ladies and gentlemen, Apple Airlines welcomes you to imperial capital".
Jiang Xia opens her eyes suddenly as she wakeup gasping and shouting, shocking sickly old man sitting next to her.
"Where am I" jiang Xia exclaimed scanning unfamiliar surrounding for danger as it was a habit. The old man next to her thought she probably had a bad dream while sleeping so she is confused as he said, "we just landed in the imperial capital".
Jiang Xia thought 'what! What is happening, who is this old man, where am I, is this a plane, am i dreaming, imperial capital?' as she tries to figure out her situation.
Her head suddenly burst in pain that she couldn't help but crouch and memory of her past came rushing forth. The old man next to her saw her crouching and asked with a voice laced with concern "what happen? Are you okay? Should I call for help"?
She couldn't reply as she sat straight in shock remembering that this is the time, she just returned home from abroad ten years before.
If before she couldn't figure out this was a dream or not the sudden pain gave her a clarity of reality that she is back in time. This time she was returning home secretly because she didn't want to study abroad and to celebrate new year in her home country, but she now already knows that it's not the beginning of happy new year but beginning of nightmare. While thinking this she searched for her phone to see today's date and sure enough it was Friday, November 17, 2017, just 3 months before apocalypse.
By this time, she was already out of airport. She quickly finds a cafe and sits down to calm herself and to think.
She remembers her painful death clearly. She sacrificed so much for her family even went far as not eating anything and fighting and killing zombies for days, mistreating herself and in return what she got was betrayal. The 'lovely' sister whom she has been protecting and giving everything that is considered good pushed her into zombie horde attack of 5th tier zombie because she found out that the man who was courting her swearing his loyalty for years was in fact her 'lovely' sister's secret boyfriend since the beginning. Everyone could see that, only she was a fool who knew nothing.
Now that she thinks carefully did her family even treat her as real family. No, they didn't. She always knew that her father remarried her stepmother after her mother passed away but why is her stepsister same age as her? She never suspected anything before because she was too small when her father remarried and now it seems her father had cheated on her mother while her mother was pregnant. Maybe her family before apocalypse was treating her well was for her mother's property because everything her father has was given by her mother which is in her name right now and after apocalypse may be to survive because jiang Xia was one of the early to awake a superpower. Jiang Xia gritted her teeth in anger as she thought this.
"Miss, may I take your order" a waiter interrupted jiang Xia's thought bringing her focus on him. He couldn't help but stare at her face and think 'what a beautiful face'. Jiang knew that she is beautiful right now unlike the time where she mistreated herself to take care of blood suckers in the name of family so this time, she is not going to mistreat herself. Jiang Xia thinks as she orders herself her favorite chocolate milkshake with vanilla ice cream and some snack and goes back to plan what to do next.
Heaven must have given her chance to do everything because of her suffering so she must do everything well without mistake this time.
In her past life apocalypse could be said came silently. Although there was earthquake and tsunami half a month before nobody connected it to the zombie virus outbreak and when red moon and bloody acidic rain finally hits on new year morning nobody got time to even think about it.
It was just the beginning of doomsday era. At first a lot of people got bad fever that people started dying that hospital became so crowded that patients couldn't even see the doctor before dying. Then some people with fever started transforming into zombies and biting people and some people started awakening superpower. This all happened in one week.
Jiang Xia was one of the few people who awaked her superpower and her superpower was water some years later after consuming zombie crystal she develops another superpower lightning. Yes, it was possible for people to awake more superpower as long as their body can handle it and they have enough compatible crystal but to find such people was hard. Even though jiang Xia was one of the few to awake superpower first, she still struggled hard a lot with the baggage family. She stayed at home with her so called 'family' until the food and water ran out and this was the first time, she remained hungry to feed her 'lovely' two faced green tea b*tch sister.
After that she embarked on journey to reach safe base with her family facing her fear just so she could protect her family.
Stealing, killing and betraying became common. Women giving sexual Favour to powerful one just to have a bite of food became common. Even she herself once nearly got r*p*d because of her sister if not for her superpower maybe it would have been her end. Since then, she couldn't even think being close to someone.
After years of being pushed and pulled she was so worn out that she was weak and started looking like women in 40s when she was just in hers 20s. In one of the missions, she was so tired that she couldn't even protect herself that she nearly died, and it was this time she discovered space in her mother's necklace. She was so happy that she wanted to share this news with her sister so returned fast just to find out the man whom she was going to accept after returning was in a relationship with her sister since a beginning and her sister and her family never loved her. They just wanted to make use of her to the fullest.
Jiang Xia touched the necklace in her neck thinking should buy all the necessary items and goods and everything needed. This time she would survive like the queen not letting anyone harm her and live for only her. This time she will be ruthless and first she has to stock and take care of her 'family' properly.
