Chapter 26: Dai Mubai

"Sheng Ba, it's crucial to focus your energy on drawing in the essence of the atmosphere" Sheng Jun explained, his tone gentle yet authoritative. "This is the first step in mastering the Heavenly Dao Sutra. You must learn to refine this energy within your body, following the intricate pathways outlined in the sutra"

Sheng Jun's gentle voice filled the air, carrying with it the weight of guidance and encouragement. As He knelt beside Sheng Ba, his expression was patient yet firm. Her brown hair tousled by the gentle breeze, sat before him with a mixture of reluctance etched on her delicate features.

Sheng Ba's reluctance was evident, her eyes brimming with unshed tears as she struggled to comprehend the complexities of the cultivation technique. The prospect of spending endless hours in meditation seemed daunting to the young girl, who longed for the freedom to explore and play.

It's been two days since he imparted the Heavenly Dao Sutra to her, as Sheng Jun observed Sheng Ba's efforts to cultivate according to the Heavenly Dao Sutra, a pang of sadness tugged at his heart. He knew all too well the burden he placed on her young shoulders, pushing her to embrace the cultivation at such a tender age. Yet, he also understood the necessity of preparing her for the challenges that lay ahead.

With each passing moment, Sheng Ba's determination wavered, and her brow furrowed in frustration as she struggled to keep going. It pained Sheng Jun to see her endure such hardships, but he knew that perseverance was the key to unlocking her true potential. After all, it is unlikely for her to awaken any soul power during the Martial Soul Awakening without the help of the Sutra.

An hour later Sheng Ba stormed oof screaming. "I hate Bwother Jun! I don't want to cultivate anymore!" her words echoing the frustration and exhaustion she felt from the relentless cultivation sessions, Sheng Jun couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt tug at his heart. He knew all too well the toll that cultivation could take on a young spirit, especially one as spirited and carefree as Sheng Ba.

Sighing softly, Sheng Jun rose to his feet, his mind already formulating a plan. With a gentle smile, he retrieved a bag of her favourite candies from his storage ring, knowing that the sweet treats never failed.

"Sheng Ba, wait!" he called out, his voice soft yet earnest as he approached her. "I know cultivation can be tough, but remember, it's all part of becoming stronger and reaching your full potential. Here, why don't we take a break and enjoy some of these candies together? It'll be our little reward for all your hard work"

As he offered her the bag of candies, Sheng Ba's initial reluctance lingered, but she couldn't resist the allure of the sweet treats, with a hesitant smile, Sheng Ba accepted the bag of candies, her heart lightening with each colourful confection she plucked from the bag.

As Sheng Jun entered the house with Sheng Ba in his arms, the sweet scent of candies filled the air, his parents and brother who were engaged in conversation attention immediately shifted to Sheng Jun, curiosity evident in their expressions as they awaited his update.

"It's done?" Sheng Yu inquired, her eyes alight with anticipation. Sheng Jun simply nodded in response, a sense of accomplishment radiating from his demeanour. "Hmm, She has learned the basics, just keep an eye on her so she won't slack off and she will be able to awaken Innate Full Soul Power during the Martial Soul Awakening.

Hearing his words, everyone smiled brightly, especially his parents who were clearly eager, waiting for that day.

"Then we will leave first. My subordinates and the carriage should be here in two months at most." Sheng Jun was determined to do whatever it took to care for his loved ones and provide them with a better life so he had made arrangements for his family to move to Suotuo City, a decision driven by his desire to ensure their safety and well-being. With Shrek Academy nearby, he would be able to keep a closer eye on them and provide them with the protection they needed.

Though initially reluctant to leave their home, Sheng Yu and Sheng Fu eventually agreed to Sheng Jun's plan, reassured by his promise to maintain the property and ensure that they could return to visit whenever they pleased.

After bidding their farewells, Ma Hongjun spread his fiery wings and lifted Sheng Jun into the air, soaring away from the village without delay. Sheng Jun's mind was set on returning to Shrek Academy first to check on the progress of the ongoing constructions before heading back to headquarters.

As the echoes of the explosion reverberated through the air, jolting Sheng Jun awake from his slumber, he emerged from his tent, his senses on high alert. Blinking away the remnants of sleep, he scanned his surroundings, trying to make sense of the commotion.

"Saixi, what's going on?" he inquired, his voice betraying his curiosity and caution.

A figure draped in black robes materialized behind him. "Reporting to Young Master" Saixi spoke with reverence and respect "Your brother, Ma Hongjun, appears to have become entangled in a conflict with another individual just moments ago"

Indeed, Saixi is one of the members of Sheng Jun's protection team, meticulously assembled to ensure his safety. Consists solely of Spirit Kings at this stage, after all, it hasn't been long since their company's establishment.

Sheng Jun's Prophecy ability ensured that each member was chosen with precision. These individuals owed their lives to Sheng Jun's timely intervention during their darkest hours, instilling within them a debt of gratitude that transcended mere allegiance.

Under the protective umbrella of Spirit Saints like Flender, and the Titled Douluo rumoured to safeguard their company, Sheng Jun's safety was virtually guaranteed. Any betrayal would be an act of a fool, as the benefits bestowed upon them by Sheng Jun were not small either.

As Sheng Jun approached the scene, he observed Ma Hongjun locked in combat with a formidable opponent. The youth exuded an aura of power, his long golden hair cascading behind him like a radiant waterfall, framing his striking visage. However, what truly captured Sheng Jun's attention were the youth's mesmerizing eyes of heterochromia, with one eye gleaming blue and the other fiery red, each adorned with twin pupils that seemed to pierce through the chaos of battle.

Despite the intensity of the battle, the youth maintained a composed demeanour, his movements fluid and precise as he exchanged blows with Ma Hongjun. Every strike carried with it a sense of purpose, a testament to his skills.

"Young master, there seems to be a Spirit Douluo protecting this young man. We didn't notice it just now, but he exposed himself willingly. Luckily, he doesn't seem to be hostile" Saixi's voice conveyed the message to Sheng Jun. As he heard this, Sheng Jun's expression turned serious. The presence of a Spirit Douluo added a layer of complexity to the situation. Sheng Jun realized the potential threat posed by the Spirit Douluo and weighed his options. He knew that engaging in direct conflict with such a formidable opponent was not an option. It would be a battle he couldn't win. However, he was relieved to hear that the Spirit Douluo didn't seem to be hostile. It seems that this youth's background is more formidable than he thought.

As the clash between Ma Hongjun and the golden-haired youth escalated, their fists collided with explosive force, sending shockwaves rippling through the air and propelling them backwards tens of meters. Amidst the intensity of the battle, their exchange of words continued, revealing the cause of their conflict.

Ma Hongjun, attempting to defuse the situation, addressed the golden-haired youth with an explanation tinged with remorse. "Listen, man, it was really an accident. Who would have known you were cleaning yourself under the stream?" His tone conveyed a sense of sincerity, coupled with a hint of pleading.

The golden-haired youth, though visibly angered by the situation, responded with a mixture of frustration and restrained composure. "And that permits you to piss in the stream? Could you not piss on the ground or something?" Despite his anger, his voice carried a note of restraint.

Ma Hongjun scratched his head sheepishly, acknowledging his fault in the situation. He recounted the events leading up to the conflict, admitting to his accidental misstep. "Hey, it's just a misunderstanding. I'm sorry, okay? I was half asleep at that time and accidentally peed in the stream" His tone conveyed genuine remorse, mingled with a hint of embarrassment.

As Ma Hongjun explained, even Sheng Jun couldn't help but feel speechless. It seemed that Ma Hongjun had a talent for attracting trouble.

Facing Ma Hongjun's apology, the youth shook his head, his expression unwavering. "I can't just let you go like that after what you did. However, I must admit, your strength is formidable and you don't seem much older than me" He paused briefly before continuing, his tone firm, filled with fighting spirit. "Allow me to introduce myself formally. I am Dai Mubai, 12 years old, Level 27, 2nd Ring Attack Power System Spirit Grandmaster, Martial Soul; White Tiger"

Acknowledging Dai Mubai's words, Ma Hongjun sighed softly, resigning himself to the impending battle. "Ma Hongjun, nine years old, Level 24, 2nd Ring Attack Power System Spirit Grandmaster, Martial Soul; Evil Fire Phoenix"

Dai Mubai's disbelief was palpable as he struggled to comprehend Ma Hongjun's words. "You're nine!?" he exclaimed, his voice trembling with shock. The realization that Ma Hongjun was significantly younger and lower in level than him left Dai Mubai stunned. "It's impossible! How can you be so strong? How could someone so much younger catch up to me? Years of age difference can't be bridged so easily!" Dai Mubai's roar echoed with disbelief, unwillingness to accept the truth, his voice filled with disbelief and perhaps a glimmer of…hope?

"Hmph, impossible? At Shrek Academy, we only accept monsters" Ma Hongjun retorted proudly. "So what if our opponents are older than us?" His voice is full of confidence.

Sensing Dai Mubai's lingering disbelief Ma Hongjun sighed softly before retrieving his Spirit Hall's Badge and tossing it towards Dai Mubai. Catching the badge, Dai Mubai examined it closely, his expression reflecting a mix of emotions. "Born in the year 2637, Spirit Grandmaster...Shrek" he muttered to himself, his voice tinged with a hint of uncertainty, disbelief and loss as countless thoughts flashed in his mind.

Breaking Dai Mubai's thoughts, Ma Hongjun's question cut through the air. "Do you still want to fight or not?" Despite his absentmindedness, Dai Mubai responded with unwavering determination. "Fight!" he declared, launching into another attack.
