Chapter 141: Chapter 140

Xiu Ye took a slow and deep breath in through his mouth for a full minute before he exhaled for two whole minutes.

Through the air, he could feel the elemental energies within it as he inhaled the energies, mostly soul power and fire qi, and channeled it through his meridians and gather most into his dantian.

The sealed purple colored soul power of Tianguo begin to pulse in response to the soul power filtering into Xiu Ye's dantian.

The metaphysical form of soul power in his dantian began to swirl around in a counterclockwise rotation, forming a whirlpool with the sealed soul power in the middle of it.

Xiu Ye continued on breathing in and out, absorbing and filtering the energies in the air into his body–he was using the revised version of the Soul God Cultivation Method.

The Soul God Cultivation Method was made with a simple task of making him cultivate automatically when he sleeps, aka, goes into his inner world and battle against Ryūjin Jakka, with the Zanpakuto spirit being the one to cultivate the former's body at the same time.

Some ignorant people would say, it was a revolutionary thing and it could make their cultivation much more easier. But those aged veteran soul masters would say otherwise. Why? Because it was just a simple cultivation method of meditating the entire night than sleeping.

The Soul God Cultivation Method he had previously, was just a upgraded basic technique of that.

Do you know how embarrassing it is for having such a powerful sounding technique, only to find out that it could help you from getting sleep deprived?

'Tianguo and Ryūjin Jakka couldn't laughing at me for realizing it so late, especially Ryu. That bastard! He was the one who laughed at me the most, because I was being such an idiot! He didn't brought up the issues about the cultivation method until a few years ago was because he thought I already knew about it!' Xiu Ye paused in his breathing exercise for a moment as his concentration was broken.

He let out a sigh and opened his eyes to see the cultivation room he was in–a world of brimstone and burning flames around as far as the eye could see.

It was like he was in hell.

Specialized cultivation space. An area with cultivation rooms designed according to a spirit master martial soul-type. The rooms help speed up cultivation a little.

Unlike the cultivation spaces built in the outer court. This one was one of many special cultivation rooms built in the roots of the Ancient Tree, and could only be accessed by inner court students and the elders of the academy. By paying with contribution points of course.

As a librarian, a blacksmith, a mecha craftsman of three professions, and a part time trainer/sparring partner. Xiu Ye earned quite a lot of contribution points, enough that he could rent a cultivation room in the Ancient Tree for an entire year. And renting a cultivation room is expensive, much more than building your own cottage or cabin in the island.

Xiu Ye looked at his hands, clenched them, and he circulated his red soul power aura in his body throughout his meridians.

He could feel it, the power of his soul power as it covered his body in a haze of red aura and can rival the pressure of a Soul Sage's full burst of soul power.

This new version of the Soul God Cultivation Method is really great and was worth it for investing several months in it.

Xiu Ye's lips tugged into a smirk.

"Rank 47... just a bit more and I can finally be a Soul King and I can finally create my soul core." He let out a satisfied huff and stretched his arms up, feeling his stiff shoulders pop, he groaned.

"Ryu, good morning. How long have I been cultivating for?" Xiu Ye asked, communicating through their mental link, as he untangled his legs and stood up from his cultivation position.

"About a full three days and a half. And it's noon now so it should be good afternoon." Ryūjin Jakka responded with a chuckle.

Xiu Ye scratched his cheek, let out a sigh, and shook his head. "Whoops. Yuanen Yehui's going to be pissed at me for skipping two days of work, well, its not like there was much work to do in the library these days."

"The inner court students are busy with their exams; constructing their Two-word Battle Armors, friendly tournament between them and.... ah, if I remember right, there should be a festival going on right now, right?" He thoughtfully said, rubbing his chin.

Ryūjin Jakka nodded and said, "The Sea God Fated Date Festival, an event where students, or teachers, come together in a group blind date to find their fated other half and they become a couple, with a hundred percent success rate of every couple being inseparable and becoming a married couple."

He rolled his eyes and scoffed. "Honestly, this sounds a lot like tinder or something. Oh, you should probably make an app like that. God knows how many people here need some love...' He drone on.

Xiu Ye chuckled and he thought, 'Love, huh...' His eyes began to glossed over as he remembered memories of his life as Emiya that was oh so long ago.

An image of a twin-tailed, black haired beautiful girl wearing a red blouse and a short black skirt that revealed a bit too much of her long legs. Her blue sky eyes seem to see through him as they narrowed.

'Emiya-kun, you idiot!'

A girl, which shared a bit of resemblance to the former, long purple hair with a red ribbon tied to the side of her face. She wore a school uniform, as she tilted her head to the side, she smiled. A smile full of affection and kindness.

'Good morning, senpai.'

Then a blonde haired girl, her long hair tied into a bun, wearing a knight's armor over a blue dress. Her beautiful face was set on a aloof serious expression. Her lime, steel like, eyes stared at him with so much conviction and determination that even if the world burned, she wouldn't falter.

'I ask you, are you my master?'

"....Ye? Oi! Partner!" Xiu Ye snapped out of his daze and he turned his head to the side to see Ryūjin Jakka, looking worried.

"Ryu? Ah, sorry. I was a bit lost in my thoughts." Xiu Ye rubbed the back of his head and chuckled wryly.

"...Are you remembering more of EMIYA's life?" The sword spirit asked in worry.

"..." Xiu Ye was quiet. He wanted to lie to him, saying that he was a little out of it from not sleeping for a few days, but after biting his lip for a moment he decided to tell him.

If there was anyone he trusted the most in this world, it was Ryūjin Jakka. He's been there with him since most of his life and has been helping him even to this present day.

"Yeah. I've been getting more and more of EMIYA's memories lately, recalling the things he'd done, the places he's been through, getting the skills and abilities he had, and... remembering the people he met and had a meaningful relationship with." Xiu Ye let out an exasperated sigh.

"The last one is what's bothering me the most. These people, I... don't know them. I have never knew them in this life, never met them, and I would never will get to know them in this life once more. But as I start go remember them, I start to get reminded of them through my friends."

"At this rate," Xiu Ye lowered his head, looked at his hands, trembling, and he pursed his lips. "I might become EMIYA."

His face turned bitter. "Honestly, it shouldn't make any difference. After all, was there really a Xiu Ye that lived in a normal earth before getting isekai-d into a fictional world that I had read before? Or was it just a artificial memory implanted by the one who got me out of Alaya's control? Ha!"

Xiu Ye tilted his head back and stared at the empty blank sky of the specialized cultivation room. Bitterness, resentment and sadness on his face.

"In the end, I'm just a faker... through and through the end."

"Ye." A firm and stern voice snapped him out his daze.

"Hm?" Xiu Ye turned towards Ryūjin Jakka who called out for his name, only for his eyes to widened and sidestepped to dodge the fist that had almost punched his face in. "Ah! What the hell? Why are you trying to punch me?!"

"Tsk." Ryūjin Jakka clicked his teeth, cracking his knuckles with his hands. "You know, when someone tries to give you a scolding punch for being an idiot, you don't dodge. Seriously, where did that confident young man that said he was going to be the same person, even if his past lives took over?"

"Listen, Ye. Take it from a sword spirit who's been with two masters, that souls are complicated and complex. You have past lives other than the first one you know of, now remembering some it, so it is making you have a identity crisis, and I can understand that."

"But so what? In the end of the day, the life you are living, the life you know and living through, is what matters. What's important, is the present. The past stays in the past. EMIYA is what you once was, but that's all over. Who and what you are now? The boy that wants to become the strongest soul master in the world, essentially wanting to become a god, to protect your friends and family."

"And I know you don't want to save everyone, like Shirou, or wanting to end your existence like EMIYA, because you are you. You are Xiu Ye. Someone who just wants to live his life peacefully along with his friends and family. Don't ever forget that."

Xiu Ye was stunned into silence. His face softened and his lips tugged into a smile.

"Thank you, Ryūjin Jakka. For the talk and everything..."

"Heh." Ryūjin Jakka smiled.

"Anytime partner, anytime."
