Chapter 22: CH 22: 1st Soul Ring, External Soul Bone, Gains
"Huhuhu... Huhuhahahaha!! Hahahaha!!" In the dark, giant tunnel where Nightmare used to stay in, Ah Li laughed excitedly while jumping around :"It worked! It actually worked! Hahahaha, my 1st Soul Ring is actually a 200,000-year Soul Ring!! Hahahaha!"
Although the Soul Ring hovering around his feet was only purple, Ah Li could easily and clearly feel the enormous power sealed inside of it. He was also happy that it was sealed. After all, he didn't want to be blown up into pieces because of his treasure of a Soul Ring.
"But it's fine. After all, I got these babies." With a huge, wild grin on his handsome face, he channeled his Soul Power to his forearms, where his other treasure obtained from Nightmare hid. A moment later, long and sharp blades immediately came out of the back of his forearms! One from each arm. In appearance, they looked like the blades of Mortal Kombat's Baraka!
"Hahahaha, this is just too sweet! Sister Goddess, this is the External Soul Bone you told me about, right?!" With a heart filled with excitement, Ah Li turned to the beautiful woman floating next to him, a shocked look on her face.
"Hahahaha, that's right, Xiao Li!" When the shock passed, Bibi Dong grew excited herself. Grabbing his arm, she moved it to inspect it better with an extremely satisfied and excited face :"You actually managed to find an External Soul Bone!
Of all the Soul Bones, the External Soul Bones are the hardest to get. Even harder than Torso Soul Bones. Yet you not only managed to get an External Soul Bone, it actually belongs to a 200,000-year Soul Beast! Hahahaha, little guy, you got really lucky this time! Not just a 200,000-year Soul Ring, but also an External Soul Bone of the same quality. The entire world will envy you if they know."
"Glad you both like it. Wouldn't want you to be dissatisfied with your decision of helping me." Nightmare's calm but happy voice sounded as a miniature version of him, the size of a kitten, appeared beside Ah Li as well :"By the way, who is that, Ah Li? I couldn't sense her around here."
"Oh, hey, Nightmare!" The red eyed boy immediately greeted with a smile :"She is... Well, actually, she is my 2nd Martial Soul, and her name is Rakshasa Goddess. But I call her Sister Goddess. She is a conscious Martial Soul, so she is a very unique existence."
"A 2nd Martial Soul, and it's actually a God Level Martial Soul with a consciousness?!" Nightmare was immediately shocked. As he turned to Bibi Dong, his gaze quickly turned respectful as he bowed slightly :"It's an honor to meet you, Rakshasa Goddess."
"It's alright, raise your head. It's nice to meet you as well." Bibi Dong nodded with satisfaction. Feeling somewhat proud that a 200,000-year Soul Beast was so respectful towards her. After all, Soul Beasts, especially those that have reached 100,000-years, are very prideful. They won't lower their heads easily to anyone.
"Thank you for taking the initiative to help Xiao Li. I'm happy to see this little guy get stronger through your help." She expressed her gratitude with a small smile. Raising his head, Nightmare nodded in response :"It's nothing, ma'am. After all, although I did help Ah Li, he saved my life. So the help that he provided to me was a lot bigger than mine. I made him stronger, but he saved me. I'm the one who should be grateful."
"Even so, you still have our gratitude." The gorgeous goddess said again, and the black centipede nodded :"You're welcome. But... I am confused about something. Since Ah Li has Twin Martial Souls, and the second one is even a God Level one, then how come he reached Lv 10 only now? Shouldn't his talent be a lot better? Uh, I'm not trying to be rude, Ah Li. I'm sorry if it sounds like that. But I'm really curious now."
"Nah, it's alright. Thanks for apologizing though, appreciate it." Ah Li chuckled before Bibi Dong began explaining the reason she had come up with. Which was she, being an Evil Martial Soul which was also a God Level at that, probably weakened and absorbed his 1st Martial Soul's talent to be awakened. But even with that, she still wasn't fully awakened.
She had already explained this to Ah Li in the past. Back then, when she did, she was a little worried that he would be angry and hate her. However, surprisingly, Ah Li just dismissed it since they couldn't do anything. He had gotten used to being like this anyway and had a lot of ways of making his talent skyrocket, so why bother sulking around when he could be grinding for attributes to make his Orbs stronger?
After hearing the explanation, Nightmare couldn't help but get shocked as well. When she was finished, his gaze towards Ah Li held a lot more admiration than before :"Ah Li, I have to say, I'm surprised. You are a lot more mature than you let on. I'm sure that other people wouldn't definitely be angry and hold a grudge if this happened. But you acted like an adult instead of complaining. *Smiling* It's a nice surprise."
"Hahaha, glad that you're glad, bud." The red eyed boy nodded with a small smile. But his small, gentle smile was immediately overtaken by a wild and excited one :"But forget about that! Let's check out the gains, baby!" The gains this time were far more than everything Ah Li had gained in the past three years. In one simple day, he completely transformed.
1) Soul Power Level: after his 1st Soul Ring manifested, the combination of the Soul Power of the Soul Ring and External Soul Bone caused Ah Li's Soul Power Level to ascend directly to Lv 18! Obviously, it was a lot less than what should have happened. But there's a reason. The Soul Power provided by the Soul Ring belonged to a 1,000-year purple Soul Ring. The rest of the Soul Power of the 100,000-year Soul Ring remained inside of the sealed Soul Ring.
4 Levels were granted by the Soul Ring, and the extra 4 Levels by the External Soul Bone. External Soul Bones don't generally cause the Soul Power Level to rise by even a single Level if absorbed through the Soul Ring, so the three of them were still pretty happy. If the Soul Ring gave Ah Li its real Soul Power, Ah Li would probably directly ascend to Lv 30 or 40!
After all, Tang Hao directly rose by 5 Levels and became a Lv 95 Super Douluo directly after getting his 9th Soul Ring. Since he was depressed after the death of Ah Yin and Tang San never saw him cultivating, then it only means that Tang Hao's Soul Power Level rose by 5 Levels after absorbing the 100,000-year Soul Ring.
Raising the Soul Power Level after Lv 90 was a great task, and each Lv needed the combined Soul Power of all the previous Levels to advance! Basically, to reach Lv 92, the Soul Master would need the Soul Power from Lv 1 all the way to Lv 91 combined to advance! (A/N: I don't remember if it's like this directly from Lv 90 or after reaching Lv 95, but we'll just roll with this.)
That just shows the enormous amount of Soul Power held inside of a 100,000-year Soul Ring. So what would happen if Ah Li absorbed a Soul Ring that had at least twice the amount of that Soul Power? Directly skipping a few Ranks (10 Levels) wouldn't seem like an issue at all.
However, advancing by 8 whole Levels was also pretty sweet, and Ah Li wasn't ungrateful for it. 8 Levels isn't a low number of Soul Power Levels, you know? It took him three years to advance that many Levels. Yet he did it in a few hours now. That did make him want to complain a little though.
2) Soul Skills: one of the reasons why 100,000-year Soul Rings are the 1st in the Soul Master Dream List is because unlike normal Soul Rings, they provide the Soul Master with two Soul Skills. And obviously, even if it had the appearance of a 1,000-year purple Soul Ring, Ah Li still got two Soul Skills out of it. Abyssal Strike and Abyssal Hold.

1) Abyssal Strike: raises strength and defense by 500% for 10 minutes. The quality of the Martial Soul and the age of the Soul Ring will determine the actual strengthening, and will fuse together. At 100-year with Trash Grade, the increase will be 1,000%. The strengthening will be increased by 500% every Rank.
Trash Martial Soul: 500% (x6)

2) Abyssal Hold: just like Nero's (DMC 4) ability to grab an opponent with his Devil Bringer, Ah Li can grab an opponent and perform an attack unbreakable by the opponent.

'Goddamn... That first one is just broken...' Ah Li couldn't help being shocked at the first one. But he was a little weirded out by the second one :'But isn't that just Nero's (DMC 4) skill???' (A/N: The explanations for them aren't the same as I write. I just want you to get a clue.)
3) External Soul Bone: as for the 200,000-year External Soul Bone that would make anybody cry with envy, Ah Li decided to just name them Nightmare Sickles. Nothing over the top, but not a stupid name either. These babies not only had awesome abilities, but the sweet part was that not only would they come out of both hands despite being a single External Soul Bone, but they would also come out of Ah Li's 4 extra hands provided by the Abyssal Centipede Martial Soul's Innate Ability!
You have to know, each Nightmare Sickle was extremely sharp. When Ah Li tested it, it easily cut through a boulder like a hot knife through butter. Without even applying any pressure at that. Two of them was already deadly. Six of them? That's just cheating.

(200,000-year Flying Nightmare Centipede: Nightmare Sickles)

Description: long and extremely sharp blades that come out of the back of the forearms. Will also appear on the extra hands brought by the Abyssal Centipede Martial Soul.
1) 500% increase in all attributes for each Nightmare Sickle.
2) Extremely toxic and corrosive poison of the Flying Nightmare Centipede belonging to a 200,000-year one. Is re-absorbable.
3) Nightmare Slash: an extremely deadly energy projection which can be released from any of the Nightmare Sickles.
4) Ultimate Attack: an Ultimate Attribute belonging to the Nightmare Sickles. Defies and ignores all forms of defense or anything that tries to get in the way of attacking the target, including the Invincible Golden Body and Nothingness Soul Skills.

4) Evolution Points: surprisingly, even though Ah Li didn't kill Nightmare, Evolution Points were still added to him. On top of that, he got a list of the attainable Evolution Points from almost all mortals.

5) Orbs: and finally, the real MVPs of the gains. Surprisingly, even though Ah Li didn't kill Nightmare, these guys also grew. And boy, did they grow. All of the attributes of Nightmare were directly absorbed by the Orbs! The Physical Power, Soul Power, Spiritual Power and Poison of Nightmare, a 200,000-year Soul Beast who was even a super one, was added to all of Ah Li's attributes!
Suddenly, Ah Li's combat prowess of being able to beat a Lv 40 Soul Sect or Lv 50 Soul King directly skyrocketed to being able to beat the dog shit out of Titled Douluos below Lv 99 Limit Douluo. Leaving even him speechless :'... The fuck happened to being weak...?'
