Chapter 4: Soul
As soon as he entered the Awakening Chamber, Xu Fengyuan was amazed. All of the floors, the walls, and even the ceiling had mysterious inscriptions carved into them to create an elegant, decorative design.
'Its a Soul Guidance Array'
Within the Awakening Chamber was a middle aged man wearing a black robe, that featured the embroidered form of a soul beast.
Ha Luosa raised his hand, and the black robed man nodded wordlessly.
"Step into the middle of the formation."
Xu Fengyuan stepped into the center without hesitation. Although he was a little nervous because of the current circumstances, he was still excited to awaken his martial soul.
While under his astonished gaze, the black robed soul master raised his right arm slightly. The white light vibrated before flying off towards the sky and blossoming into fireworks that illuminated the Awakening Chamber with its splendor.
Starting from the ceiling, the inscription lines filled with light as it moved towards the walls. It was as if it possessed a strong and revitalizing energy, as well as a life of its own. The lines kept lighting up until they converged below Xu Fengyuan's feet.
A comfortably numbing energy crept up his legs before entering his body from his heart. Xu Fengyuan's body couldn't help but tremble as he struggled to hold on. It felt as if his body was being electrocuted.
Everything blurred before his eyes, and an unclear image unceasingly flickered within his mind. He wanted a clear look at it, but he could only feel its flowing shadows. In the end, he was able to see it, but he couldn't remember what it was.
From Ha Luosa's point of view, Tang Wulin's body was already being enveloped in the light, and in turn, was releasing its own light. Within this ancient traditional ceremony, his martial soul had been awakened.
"Ah——!"
Xu Fengyuan suddenly screamed, causing the black robed soul master to jump in fright. An ordinary child usually wouldn't feel too much during their Awakening, but an extremely low number of them would experience intense pain due to their weak bodies being unable to bear the energy.
Ha Luosa saw this, but was unfazed. If this kid couldn't withstand such pressure, what was the point of keeping him?
Xu Fengyuan stopped screaming, and then two martial souls emerged from his body.
One was a black tiger, pure black all over, without a speck of other color. The 'king' mark on it's forehead was also black, but a different shade of black from its fur, a black as gloomy as mist. Its red eyes brim with viciousness, but the most peculiar feature was its tail. The tail was much longer compared to ordinary tiger-type Spirit Beasts, resembling a scorpion's tail formed from countless bone joints with a giant hook attached that is oriented upward, glinting with cold light.
The second martial soul was a white tiger that looked similar to the first spirit, but lacked the scorpion tail and dark color. It had a pair of heterochromatic eyes, one being red while the other was blue.
While Xu Fengyuan's body was covered in sweat, Ha Luosa was looking at him with an astonished expression.
A double martial soul with an evil martial soul and normal martial soul? When was the last time that happened?
The last recorded ones were Long Bing, Darkness Hummingbird's daughter, and Ye Xishui, the Death God Douluo,
More importantly, both of his martial souls carried immense potential.
The first one looked like a mutated Scorpion Tiger, which was a dark martial soul with good potential. Their predecessor Zhang Peng, the Scorpion Tiger Douluo, also had that martial soul.
The other one was the real shocker. It was actually the Evil-Eyed White Tiger. That meant Xu Fengyuan was actually a member of the Dai family.
His eyes were now heterochromatic, just like his martial soul, so his identity was obvious. He should be able to sneak into Shrek easily with his martial soul,
And this was after Long Bing's death. It looked fate was favoring the Holy Spirit Cult.
