Chapter 4: Chapter 3 - 6 years after
Xingyun just turned 6 years old last week and he will awaken his spirit with other children his age this morning. Many things happened in Xingyun's 6 years in Mao clan. First thing is, he was regarded by everyone as a genius because he learned how to speak in 6 months, then he started to read books when he reached 10 months of age. He learned a lot about his clan from the books, it was said that the ancestor of the Mao clan has a spirit that exceeded innate full spirit power when it was awakened, in short it is at the same caliber or stronger than the Seraphim beast spirit.
With the spirit, he gathered many spirit masters who had cat type spirits and founded Mao clan, which became the number 1 clan of that time, he had many wives but not 1 descendant inherited his spirit until he ascended to godhood, but the weird thing is once he ascended, every memory the people in the continent had of him in the continent also vanished, the only indication he existed is the records that the ancestors wrote of him. Since the time the founder ascended, the Mao clan degraded because no spirit of theirs can compete with the spirits the other clans had at that time, so they resorted to hiding themselves to not be eradicated turning themselves to what we call a hidden clan, which still exists to the modern day.
The Mao clan tried many ways to obtain the spirit the founder had, but they never succeeded. After many years, the bloodline of the founder is now almost non-existent on the genes of his descendants, and the descendants realized this too, so they abandoned their attempts to try to get the same spirit as the founder eventually.
Even though the Mao clan became degraded and their spirits is now comparable to the top clans at that time, they developed many techniques that became the new foundation of the clan, but they never showed themselves again on the continent, even when they knew they can rival the top clans.
When Xingyun read about the ancestor and his spirit, he never really considered that he had the same spirit as him because his spirit power is only 10, so he never cared about it after reading about it one time, but when Xingyun read about the techniques the clan developed he begged for his mother and father to train him according to the techniques of the clan, which worried the duo because of his age but they still gave in to him when he showed them his puppy eyes, they thought that since he is still a child, maybe he just became curious of the techniques he read and will give up after a week or so. They half-heartedly taught Xingyun about their first technique 'The Way of the Cat', which revolves around imitating the capabilities of cats and replicating their special skills, like their extraordinary senses and extraordinary agility. Xingyun knew about the prerequisites for absorbing an older spirit ring is, so he trained like crazy to learn the tecnique 'The Way of the Cat', and when his parents saw how serious he is on learning the technique, they asked the best user of it in the village to teach him which is grandpa Fang. Grandpa Fang then taught Xingyun the importance of the technique and the stages of it.
Grandpa Fang is the only one in the whole village who reached the 5th stage in the technique because of his very compatible spirit, which is Spirit Cat Body. After Xingyun trained for 2 months, he reached the 2nd stage of the technique and can't advance anymore because the 3rd stage required his cat spirit to awaken first. Xingyun was called a monster by his family when they learned of his accomplishment, because even they took 6 months just to reach the 2nd stage of the technique. After that, they taught him all the more advanced techniques of the family, which is 'Shadow Cat Steps', 'Cat Imitation', and 'Cat Battle Style'.
He learned all the techniques he's taught and, trained it all to the furthest stage he can without spirit before he became 5 years old, he only took 2 years to reach that level, which shocked the whole family, but was never known by the villagers not part of the main family.
Xingyun also got a little sister when he turned four years old, which motivated him to train harder to show off to his little sister, she is a spitting image of their mother, he was also shocked when he saw his little sister's status.

Xingyun may have been a genius, but he never had a friend his age in their village, the only one he always played with is his childish uncle, sometimes he is even suspected to be his uncle's son instead of his real father because they are like minded, they have the same playful attitude.
Back to the present:
Xingyun is in front of his window right now looking outside and waiting for his spirit awakening excitedly when the door to his room suddenly opened and a cute and bubbly little girl walked in. "Yun gege, mama said come down now and eat breakfast", she cutely stated.
"Okay, let's go Bao'er let's eat, then you will watch gege's spirit awakening after right?", Xingyun carried Bao'er and walked down the stairs.
"Of course! Bao'er will watch Yun gege, Bao'er has never seen a spirit awakening though", Bao'er replied.
"Gege will show Bao'er the coolest spirit then", Xingyun boasted.
"Yay!"
"Xingyun come down faster or you'll be late for the spirit awakening!", a woman's voice shouted from downstairs.
"Okay Mom!", Xingyun hurried downstairs and finally started the day that started Xingyun's amazing adventures.
