Chapter 3: The Awakening Ceremony
Usually when one became 6, their martial soul would be tested by someone from Spirit Hall, and they would be directly recruited if they had talent.
However, since the Dugu family was quite isolated, the awakening ceremony was commenced by his Dugu Bo.
Dugu Sheng was quietly standing in the Awakening platform, surrounded by six black stones that formed a hexagon.
His nerves had relaxed a lot after his talk with Dugu Yan, but he was still anxious. He wanted to get over with it as soon as possible.
He didn't need to wait much longer, as Dugu Bo arrived with a blue crystal ball in hand.
After arriving, Dugu Bo said with a solemn expression
"Let the awakening ceremony commence!"
As Dugu Bo clapped both hands at lightning speed, six faint green lights poured into the black stones on the ground. At once, a layer of golden misty light released from the stones and rose.
Dugu Sheng's body was covered in a faint golden light.
Every speck of the golden light came fluttering up from the black stones, further entering his body.
"Extend your right hand."
Dugu Sheng extended his right hand with a start, then paused. All the light specks surged out, and his spirit emerged.
The spirit that emerged was a Dragon with five claws, it's entire body covered in large blue scales. A pair of horns sprout from it's head, and it had a serpentine body. It possessed two massive wings, with a slender and well proportioned body , a pair of shining blue eyes.
It released a majestic aura, and it was clear that it was a very powerful dragon spirit.
But what was most shocking was the emergence of another spirit that came from his left hand.
The new spirit was a also Dragon, with a similar appearance to the blue dragon, except it's entire body was covered in large red scales instead of blue ones.
Dugu Sheng looked at his spirits, and felt relieved. Although he didn't awaken a poison spirit like he had hoped, it was clear that his spirits were very powerful, and that he could still help his family in the future.
Meanwhile, Dugu Bo looked at Dugu Sheng with a complicated look and said
"These aren't normal Dragon spirits. I have fought many Dragon spirit beasts before, and they did not have such an immense presence. If I'm not mistaken, those must be the Water Dragon King and the Fire Dragon King.'
"The Fire Dragon King and the Water Dragon King? Why have I never heard of them?'
"After I found you in the garden, I researched more into it and managed to get some information from the nearby spirit beasts. Apparently, a large battle between the spirit beasts and humans occurred, which led to the death of two powerful spirit beasts. Those two spirit beasts were the Fire Dragon King and the Water Dragon King. After their death, there bodies fell and formed the Ice and Fire Ying-Yang Well."
But wait, if their dead, then how did he awaken them as his his spirit? Maybe it was because he was born in the garden? Or is it because of his unknown heritage?
Dugu Sheng never gave much thought to who his original parents were. He was very happy in the Dugu Family household, and never thought of finding the family who had abandoned him.
But now it seemed things weren't as simple as he had thought.
