The [Phoenix] was a very rare Spirit, being the ancestor of all bird type spirit beasts. Although the real phoenix was extinct, its formidable legacy was continued on by its formidable lineage, like the [Bright Phoenix].
In fact, if his Spirit wasn't the complete opposite of hers, then she might have even taken him in as her disciple, but she already had her hands full with Hu Liena.
So, she decided it was better for him to go through the normal training method instead of learning from her.

Sinking into the warm water, Ye Feng contemplated the events that had led to this scenario.
Ye Feng wasn't actually from this world, but was merely a reincarnator who was reborn into this body.
In his previous life, he was a concubine born prince who gave up fighting for the throne and chose to run away from the competition.
He escaped from the capital, and sought out sanctuary from one of the most renowned sects in the martial world, the Shaolin Temple.
Because of his identity as a prince and the previous donations he gave before, Ye Feng was accepted into the temple and entered as an unofficial disciple.
He had lived most of his teenage years in the temple, practicing the outer sect techniques, and even managed to obtain some core techniques of the temple by using the privilege of his status and wealth.
Of course, he didn't expect someone to not give the Shaolin Temple face and send an assassin directly towards him, ending his life shortly.
If he had to think of an likely perpetrator, it was probably the Crown prince, since only he would be able to shrug of the damage of disrespecting the temple.
In his last moments, Ye Feng started to regret his decision of laying low and avoiding trouble, especially since he still ended up getting killed.
What he did not expect however, was that he would be reborn in another world, a world filled with Spirits and spirit power.
His new body was actually an orphan, which Ye Feng was grateful for, as that meant no one new him well enough to spot the differences caused by his reincarnation.
Using his skills from his previous life, he then managed to get resources and get tested by the Spirit Hall.
He didn't expect to awaken a top tier Spirit and get recruited instantly. He even managed to see the Supreme Pontiff.
His reincarnation was one of the secrets that he planned on taking to the grave. Another secret that he didn't plan to tell anyone, was the fact that he had a second Spirit.
In fact he was to afraid to release his second Spirit , since he could be being monitored by Spirit Hall.
His second Spirit was a red projection in the shape of a human with twelve wings. An aura of death radiated from it's form.
It's name is the [Bloody Demon Puppet], the first of its kind.
