Chapter 2: Chapter 2: Yu Xiaogang - Long-planned Scheme

Ever since Yu Xiaogang separated from Flender and Liu Erlong, he received an invitation and came to the small Soul Master Academy in Norland to continue his theoretical research. Occasionally, he would enlighten students, which could be considered a peaceful life.

However, this kind of life wasn't what he desired. As the wisdom corner of the Golden Iron Triangle, how could he willingly accept mediocrity? He pondered over various methods to prove himself, but without exception, all attempts ended in failure.

Later, he realized that if he couldn't change his own destiny, he could use disciples to prove his theories, letting his theories shine across the continent. Only in this way could he give a resounding slap to those who once looked down on him, telling those fools that they were the ignorant pigs! He was the true master, an unparalleled master of theory!

However, finding a satisfactory disciple was not so easy.

Over the years, he encountered some geniuses, but they were arrogant and came from well-off families, looking down on him, the so-called "theoretical master."

As for those students with poor talent, he also looked down on them. With such talent, they could never hope to help him gain fame.

"Another school year begins. I hope to encounter some good seedlings this year!" Yu Xiaogang sat on a bench not far from the entrance, pretending to flip through a book, occasionally glancing at the gate.

This place was a corner after entering the gate. It was hard to notice unless one carefully searched, but he could clearly see the situation near the entrance, a panoramic view.

Another alone child arrived,Great!

Yu Xiaogang, full of anticipation, pretended to be a bit tired. He pinched his brow, closed the book, stood up to stretch, and then walked in the direction of the gate, pretending to stroll.

"Hiss!"

Yu Xiaogang intercepted the child, but he didn't expect the child to be so frail that he fell to the ground with just a light collision.

"Great, the Martial Soul certificate fell out." Yu Xiaogang's gaze fell on the certificate on the ground.

"Are you okay?" Yu Xiaogang helped the child up, then squatted down to pick up the Martial Soul certificate.

"Ah? Oh, I'm fine. Thank you, teacher."

"Teacher? I'm not a teacher at the academy. A teacher has only one disciple. Only if you sincerely accept me as your master can you call me that. Others call me Grandmaster; you can call me Grandmaster too."

"You're here to enroll, right? Let me take you..." Yu Xiaogang picked up the certificate and casually opened it, taking the opportunity to peek at the information.

[Mutated Martial Soul: Black Pupil. Soul Power: Level One.]

Yu Xiaogang was instantly disappointed; he lost interest in the child before him. This talent wasn't much better than his own. Back then, he also had a mutated Martial Soul, half a level of soul power, and endured humiliation and ridicule.

With this child's talent, let alone a Soul Ancestor, even a Great Soul Master would be challenging.

In the beginning, he was supported by the family and secretly subsidized by Bibi Dong, barely reaching Level 29.

Seeing that this child appeared to be from an ordinary family with no resources or talent, he was just a Soul Master at level ten or so for his entire life, unlikely to achieve greatness. He wasn't worthy of becoming his disciple.

Various thoughts flashed through his mind like an electric current. As the words reached his mouth, he changed his tone. Yu Xiaogang said, "The registration office is over there; make sure you don't go the wrong way."

Saying that, he returned the backpack to Cheng Xiao.

Cheng Xiao was confused by Yu Xiaogang's actions. He walked toward the registration office in a daze, constantly reflecting on Yu Xiaogang's reactions, feeling that something was off.

"It doesn't seem right; I always feel something is off." Cheng Xiao turned back. "I'll go back and take a look."

Not having walked far, Cheng Xiao saw Yu Xiaogang sitting on a bench, engrossed in a book.

"Could it be that I'm just too sensitive?" Cheng Xiao rubbed his chin, observing Yu Xiaogang's focused appearance.

Just as he was about to leave, suddenly, Yu Xiaogang looked up, his gaze seemingly indifferent as he glanced towards the gate, then returned to reading.

"Hmm?" Cheng Xiao caught this subtle anomaly.

"It seems like he's waiting for someone..."

"Is he waiting for Tang San? That shouldn't be right. According to the original work, this guy shouldn't know that Tang Hao is in seclusion here."

Cheng Xiao decided to observe a bit more. He found a bench and sat down, imitating Yu Xiaogang by occasionally glancing toward the gate without staring too intently to avoid being noticed.

Before long, he noticed Yu Xiaogang standing up and walking towards the gate. He struck up a conversation with a student who had just come to enroll and then led him towards the registration office.

After a while, Yu Xiaogang returned to his original bench, waiting for the next student to arrive.

After a few back and forth trips, Cheng Xiao finally figured out what was going on. It seemed like this guy would strike up conversations with each student, find an excuse to examine their Martial Soul certificates, and then lead them to the registration office?

"What is he up to?" Cheng Xiao felt a bit absurd.

Just as Cheng Xiao was contemplating, voices of dispute came from outside the gate, causing Yu Xiaogang to be alerted, walking towards the gate.

Cheng Xiao also looked in the direction of the sound and saw the person outside the gate. A flash of insight lit up his mind.

"One word: Brilliant!" Cheng Xiao burst into laughter, shaking his head. He was close to giving Yu Xiaogang a round of applause.

"This guy is selecting disciples!"

He had guessed that this guy was using his position to conveniently check the students' Martial Soul certificates, judging whether they were worth cultivating. With a broad knowledge, he would engage in conversation, shaping the image of a towering "Master of Theory," laying the foundation for recruiting disciples in the future.

It seemed like the lines were all part of a similar template.

He would give evaluations of the students' Martial Souls, cite references, subtly mention his own Martial Soul's top ten core competencies, showcase his charm, then gently point out the direction for future soul ring absorption, sparking curiosity. If all went well and the relationship deepened, he could formally take them as disciples!

It's all a routine! A well-thought-out routine!

"But, it's a bit too much to encounter two twin Martial Souls as soon as school starts. Isn't this luck a bit too unbelievable? If I hadn't read the original work, I might even think this guy is the Chosen One."

"Isn't it absurd for the Holy Maiden of the Martial Soul Hall to fall for a waste? Has her brain malfunctioned? And Tang San, a person who has lived two lives, easily persuaded to kneel and apprentice. I can't believe he doesn't have a protagonist halo!"

"Oh, wait, including myself, there should be three..."

Cheng Xiao stood up, heading towards the registration office. Since he had clarified his doubts, there was no need to stay any longer. He had no interest in getting too involved with Tang San, someone who easily harbored murderous intent.

"All coincidences are well-planned schemes."

Suddenly thinking of the Shura God who secretly observed the screen from above, Cheng Xiao had a deeper understanding of this statement. Perhaps that rabbit was also sent by him...
