Chapter 2: New World
Isaac awoke in a cradle inside a hospital room, surrounded by other babies. It was quite a familiar setting for him, having spent his whole life in one. Immediately, he inspected his own body, it seems he was just born. It was quite jarring really, piloting such a tiny body, quite difficult too. He tried to stand up but fell flat down on his face every time, he'd have to take time to get used to this new body.
After he finished inspecting himself he began checking out the room. First he saw a name-tag on his cradle, it seemed his name was still Isaac, which he was quite happy with. The room was far from what you'd see on earth, and Isaac immediately recognized the design type, it confirmed to him that he really was in Dragon Ball. Excitement flooded Isaac's mind and he started daydreaming about all the cool things he could do in this world; flying, fighting, training, summoning Shenron, meeting dragon ball characters, so much to do! This excitement went on for awhile before he finally calmed down and began rationally thinking, first about the "mission" he was given.
'If i'm gonna stop this evil soul guy i'm gonna have to get really strong.'
Lifting his tiny, chubby baby arm into his vision he continued
'Can't really train with this body though, well at least not physically.'
After a moment of pondering he decided to try training his ki.
He made the best effort he could to get into a meditative position without seeming suspicious and began trying to draw out his Ki, using descriptions of how to do so from his previous life. After only a moment he could feel his energy inside him, however he couldn't draw it out.
'Maybe i'm talented at this.'
Excitement flowed through him once again at the thought of being a talented warrior, however this time he quickly focused, he needed to make plans.
Quickly, he set his mind on two basic plans for his first few years; first off he he'd train his ki everyday, than his body when he could, secondly he'd learn as much as he could about this world that was never shown in Dragon Ball.
Just as he finished this thought a nurse came in to the room and picked me up. I was handed to my mother shortly. He quite enjoyed how she held him, not in a sexual way, a baby doesn't really have hormones, no, rather he liked her motherly presence, something he never had in his former life. His mother made her way towards his car.
When they had both entered the car his mother's face changed, her happy expression morphed into a sad one. Only a moment later, tears began flowing from her eyes and she began wrapping me in a beige cloth. She then began to drive.
"I'm sorry Isaac..."
She said in a teary voice as she drove. Isaac was quite confused at this point. An idea of what was happening entered his mind, but he quickly pushed it out.
After a little longer of driving, they stopped at what seemed to be a large temple. It was quite old, with its red and black paint scraping off. Above the large door was a circular symbol, the symbol of the temple, an Ox kanji. Isaac knew Japanese, he learned it so he could read new Mangas as soon as they came out.
Tears still falling out of her eyes, Isaac's mother lifted him up and left the car, towards the temple. At that moment, Isaac knew his earlier thoughts were right, no matter how much he didn't want them to be true.
'Am I seriously getting abandoned?!'
He thought to himself, he thought he'd finally have a motherly presence in his life. She placed him down on the steps of the temple and took one final look at her child. As she heard someone approach the door, she quickly ran over to her car and sped off.
Isaac was both sad and annoyed at his situation.
'First day in this new world and my mom already abandoned me, this sucks.'
After reveling in his annoyance for a bit longer he tried to look at it in a good way. The building he was left off at seemed to be a martial arts school so it would help him train for the future, though he still would have liked a mother.
As he continued his thoughts, the door creaked open to reveal a young lady, she wore an all-black gi, with the ox symbol on her chest and a red stripe down the middle. She was quite beautiful and her dark brown hair was typed up in a bun. She looked around, a bit confused.
"I could've sworn I heard something out here..."
Isaac realized she wasn't noticing him so he did the only thing he could to get her attention, started crying. This immediately made her notice him and she went down to pick him up.
"Oooh a baby! And such a cutie too."
She said, squeezing one of his cheeks with a pure smile on her face.
"Who could abandon such a cute baby." She said in a bit of a scolding voice, than swapped back to her previous happy one "Don't worry, we'll take care of you....." She checked for a name-tag and found one "..Isaac! What a nice name."
'Hey maybe this is isn't gonna be so bad!'
He said, stopping his crying and smiling, she liked his motherly presence. After happily playing with his cheeks for a moment longer she entered the temple. The interior was massive, with many doors leading to other rooms.
"Senseeeiiiii! Seeeenseeeiiiiiii!"
The woman yelled out.
"Yes yes, im coming."
The voice came from the large door in the center of the room. Out from it came an older man, wearing a similar gi as the girl, but with two extra red stripes starting at his collar bones. On him was a full head of short grey hair. As the door swung open, Isaac could see that it was a courtyard with a large group of men in similar outfits training. This excited Isaac.
"Oh, whats this?"
"Someone left a baby here Sensei, can we take it in please?"
She said in a pleading voice to him.
"Well, I suppose we do have a room left, but he'll be your responsibility Truffelle"
Happily, she responsded.
"Yes! Thank you Sensei!"
Isaac was no longer sad about being abandoned by his mother as it seemed he'd immediately gotten a new one.
'This is such a perfect start, maybe that "intercession" the old man who sent me here was talking about.'
Isaac thought to himself as he was brought over to an empty room.
'This is gonna be fun!'
