Chapter 28: SHALLOT VS PICCOLO
As Kami sees Shallot about to face the evil Piccolo, the guardian smiles while feeling grateful to the Saiyan.
"Seems I've done my part in this battle." Kami says to himself, releasing control of Hercule's body, letting him fall to the ground.
Shallot looks around and sees Roshi and the others down on the ground, while Bulma is hiding.
"Don't worry, I wasn't planning on killing any of them other than that old fool. I'll need subjects to rule over when I conquer this world." Piccolo says with an evil grin.
Shallot smirks and walks right past Piccolo, confusing the Namakian. Shallot approaches Roshi who is struggling to stay conscious. He kneels down to the old master.
"Hey old man, I thought you were retired." Shallot jokingly says.
Roshi chuckles.
"Well what can I say, seems that I can never get away from fighting." Roshi says.
Shallot smiles, then grabs three senzu beans and gives them to Roshi.
"Here, take one and give the rest to Krillin and Yamcha."
Roshi nods, eats one and makes his way over to his students, giving them each a senzu bean. Shallot then turns back to Piccolo who hasn't taken his eyes off of the Saiyan.
"I've been waiting a long time to face you, Saiyan." Piccolo says.
Shallot smirks.
"Really? To what do I owe the pleasure?"
Piccolo chuckles.
"Three years ago, I was prepared to enacted my revenge. But then I felt something. A power well beyond my own, nearby Korin's tower. Your power. I was stunned to say the least."
Piccolo then starts taking off his weighted clothing.
"So I watched you from a distance and found out you were allies with Roshi. I knew you were going to be one of the fools who got in my way. So I spent the past three years training to reach that same level of power you showcased."
After Piccolo removes all of his weighted clothing, He prepares to power up.
"RAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!"
Roshi, Krillin, and Yamcha are shocked by this.
"Woah, his powers on the rise." Yamcha says in a nervous sweat.
"Yeah, I hate to say it, but I'm glad he was holding back against us." Krillin says.
Bulma quickly runs over to them, hiding behind Yamcha.
"Guys, Shallot can beat this guy, right?"
As Bulma asks this, neither of the three fighters say anything, not knowing the answer for sure.
"I must thank you, without you, I would have never gained this power. Now I can erase the only threat to me on this planet and finally achieve my revenge."
Shallot smirks, charges up his energy.
"Gotta say, I'm flattered. I never thought I'd be someone else's goal. But doesn't mean I'm just gonna lay down for you."
Piccolo laughs.
"Don't worry, I'll enjoy putting you down by force."
The two have a stare down for a minute, watching each other closely. At that moment the two fly up in the air and clash in the sky, sending out shockwaves. The two then start throwing strikes at each other, so fast that the others are having trouble keeping up.
"Hey, guys. I can't tell, but is Shallot winning?" Bulma asks.
"It's hard to keep up, but the two seem evenly matched right now." Roshi says.
At that moment, Piccolo goes for a knee that Shallot blocks, but the Saiyan is sent flying back, across the sky. At that moment, Shallot recovers and fires a small Kamehameha wave at the Namakian, that Piccolo barely avoids.
"You're going to have to do better than that, Saiyan!"
Piccolo fires a ki blast right at Shallot. The Saiyan quickly dodges it and flies right at Piccolo. He swings at him but Piccolo avoids it, coming up from above and kicking Shallot in the back.
"Shallot!" Bulma yells, worrying about her friend.
Shallot is sent hurtling back to the ground, but soon recovers his balance in the sky and fires ki blasts at Piccolo. The Namakian is surprised by this, barely reacting in time, dodging them all. He then vanishes, reappearing back on the ground, surprising Shallot.
"TAKE THIS!" Piccolo says, firing a large ki blast that lands head on.
As smoke appears where Shallot used to be, Piccolo laughs while Yamcha and Krillin are growing frustrated.
"Damnit. That bastards even giving Shallot trouble." Yamcha says.
Roshi then calms down his students.
"Just keep watching you two. It's not over yet."
At that moment, Shallot starts to power up, clearing the smoke completely. Krillin, Yamcha, and Bulma are all surprised to see Shallot not even fazed by the attack.
"So. Are you prepared to take this seriously now?" Piccolo asks with a smirk, folding his arms.
Shallot grins.
"I guess I don't have a choice not to now." Shallot replies.
The Saiyan then lands on the ground, then vanishes, surprising Piccolo.
"What?" Piccolo says outloud.
At that moment Shallot comes from the other side of Piccolo and lands a strong punch to his face. Piccolo grits his and regains his balance, but that's when Shallot throws a tornado kick at him. The Namakian then throws a spin kick that Shallot blocks. As Piccolo goes for another kick, Shallot uses the after image technique and fires ki blasts behind him.
Piccolo dodges two of the ki blasts, knocks one out of the way, and fires a ki blast of his own to counter the last one. The Namakian then comes rocketing through the smoke right at Shallot. Piccolo throws a punch that Shallot dodges. Shallot throws a three sixty kick that Piccolo was barely able to block, but he gets hit with a sidekick to the gut, sending him flying.
As Piccolo lands on the ground, he gets frustrated and fires a large scale ki blast at Shallot. Shallot avoids it flies straight down at Piccolo with great speed, going for a kick. Piccolo quickly moves out of the way, while Shallot hits the ground, creating a giant crater. As the ground shakes the others can barely keep their balance.
"These guys are monsters!" Krillin yells.
Shallot comes flying out of the crater and rockets at Piccolo. The two start throwing strikes at each with great speed and force. Shallot goes for a punch, but Piccolo quickly moves behind him, grabs him by the throat and stretches him arm out, slaming Shallot through multiple trees.
Shallot quickly backflips to regain his balance, but Piccolo runs straight at him. He jumps up in the air and goes for an attack, but Shallot quickly avoids it, moving behind him and charging a Kamehameha.
"KA! ME! HA! ME! HA!"
"No one will stand in my way!"
Piccolo counters with another large scale ki blast. When the red and orange energy clashes, it creates an explosion and a bright light. The two warriors then charges at each other again, both landing punches in each other's faces at the same time.
This infuriates Piccolo.
"That's it! I've had enough of this!"
He then charges his energy to his hand and aims it at Shallot.
"EXPLOSIVE DEMON WAVE!"
Piccolo fires a massive energy blast right at Shallot. The Saiyan doesn't even try to dodge it, he just folds his arms, closes his eyes, and smiles as the blast hits him head on, causing a massive explosion.
As the light fades, Roshi and the others are shocked to see the amount of destruction that attack caused, almost clearing the entire forest. Piccolo grins, being satisfied with the result, thinking that he has won. When the dust clears his satisfaction turns into shock when he sees Shallot, still standing, still smiling, with barely a scratch on him.
"That tickled a bit." The Saiyan says.
