Chapter 1: Rebirth
(General pov)
Deep within a cave that lay its entrance at the top of a mountain that in the future would be hailed as Ben Nevis the tallest mountain in Britain. A single egg lay in a bed of solidified shadows the 6 ft tall egg had a certain regal aura to its black shell.* Crack* The once impeccable surface of the egg was ruined by a crack. Small, but it was noticeable. Seemingly becoming restless the egg shook and cracked more and more until an abnormally loud crack reverberated around the cave, And along with it came a new presence.
A young dragon stood there tall and proud. It had four powerful legs, a pair of wings that looked capable of throwing a grown man, mat black scales that held a hidden resistance and deep slitted purple eyes that seemed to capture the universe . It looked around for a second before letting out a long low growl that despite being quiet, could be clearly heard throughout the cave as if all other sound stopped to hear it.
(Mc's pov)
"where am I?" I drawled out slowly in a quiet tone, which seemingly did nothing as it could probably still be neared on the other side of the cave I was in. Which I might add was quite different from the usual hospital bed I wake up in. The sharply protruding stalactites and cold hard floor did not make it anymore inviting. It was at this time I seemed to remember something rather crucial." My legs are supposed to be paralysed." I stated rather bluntly before quickly looking down to be met with a very unfamiliar sight.*deeply inhale*. This is a dream this is a dream this is a dream.
It was this moment a stalactite decided to fall and smash right next to me.
This isn't a dream.
Crap.
my stomach suddenly loudly protested to the fact that I was yet to eat anything. Thinking back to the egg I clawed my way out of I suddenly knew exactly what to do and started devouring the thing every part of it from the shell to the membrane. I thought it would be harder to stomach but I guess my instincts were right.
"God what do I do now? How and why am I here? Argh so many questions and yet no answers" I spoke out as my head tilted to the cave roof. There has to be a reason right. Right. Wait what if this is just the natural course, live out your life and then get randomly reincarnated forever over and over again. Both a reassuring and scary thought at the same time.
"I shouldn't ponder on things I will never be able to understand" I spoke bitterly
Now onto not quite as important but important nonetheless things. Such as where the hell am I. It's not a matter of me not being able to see the exist of the cave, in fact I am standing at the exit right now. The problem lies with where the entrance to the cave is. It's at the top of a god damn mountain, yeah lovely view, BUT HOW DO I LEAVE! Information quickly flooded my brain and the way I held myself changed. "I can fly." it came out as nothing but a whisper but the excitement was unconcealed.
My body moved as if I had done this for years and so with practiced ease I leaped into the sky my wings unfurled themselves and flapped once, twice *boom*. What was I expecting I was just born there is no way I could fly straight away, nice if I could tho.
It suddenly came to me, I can't feel the cold. The snow that covered the top of the mountain should be unbearable, but for me it's as if it doesn't exist. Staying in the cave most certainly brings no benefits, "I guess it's already time for me to leave home." I half joked bitterly before wondering on down the mountain. On the way down I passed by many trees but every now and then there would be one surrounded by a faint blue hue, I had not the foggiest what it was but I kept it in mind to ask about later. If I can of course.

Sloth_god I know it's short but this is my first time writing a story. I would also appreciate it is you can point out any errors in my work for as I am trying to improve my spelling and grammar. I would also love any recommendations on what to add to the story at a later point for as I have nothing planned out this will just be a go with the flow kinda thing. Also I have very low expectations for this story gaining traction, but if you think it has any potential I ask you to share it with your friends. Or you can just be a really sad guy and read it by yourself, up to you.
