Chapter 10: Chapter 10

"Are you ready kid? You may have learned to use a hundred percent of your strength, but that still doesn't mean you will be able to defeat me with it." Bora asked as he got into his own fighting stance, this time he had a spear.

"Of course! Besides, even if I can't defeat you, I still need some experience fighting humans anyway, so this will still be a good lesson for me." Kaz replied with a smile while holding his own spear.

'Weird, why can I only talk to him so easily when I'm about to fight? Maybe I really am Tarble and have the Saiyan fighting instinct.' He mused to himself.

"Alright then kid, It will be the same deal as before then. If you can defeat me then I will allow you to climb the tower." Bora then shot forward, using the same speed he used last time.

However, this time, just before the spear could touch his head, Kaz swayed to the side, just barely avoiding the hit. There was no technique to the movement, or any special footwork, or even some type of super speed. It was incredibly simple, similar to when an animal dodges.

'As expected, death concentration is overpowered. Despite moving so much faster than me, I can clearly see him. Though he isn't in slow motion like everything else around me, he is still slow enough for me to be able to react to him.' Kaz thought as he dodged another attack.

'Damn, thinking and reacting faster than my body can move is such a weird feeling, it feels like when I use the slow time shout, but in a real body. Now I need to figure out how I am going to attack him. I can only think faster than him, but not move as fast, so he will be able to easily dodge anything I throw at him.' While he was trying to think of a strategy, Kaz was caught off guard as he encountered his first feint attack. He had only been fighting animals up until now, and they didn't have the ability to trick the opponent, but now he was fighting a human and an experienced one at that.

As he was about to dodge a lunge attack from Bora, he was suddenly flying backward as Bora changed his stance at the last second and kicked him in the stomach. He also experienced this slower, so he was able to adjust his stance and land on his feet before hitting anything, but now he was distracted. Bora then moved in for a final hit, punching Kaz in the head and forcing him to the ground.

"You have improved significantly, but you still have a lot further to go if you want to defeat me." Bora said and went back to his tipi.

"Damn, you kicked my ass, you couldn't have gone a little easier on me?" Kaz complained as he stood up and rubbed his now bleeding forehead.

"Pain like this is a greater teacher than any, and with that weird power you have you'll be fine, so holding back would have been detrimental to you, also, watch your language." Bora explained without looking back as he started cooking.

"I-I guess you are right," Kaz replied as he started to stutter again and decided it was time to retreat back to his little opening in the forest, not wanting to talk anymore and embarrass himself.

"I suggest you train some more with that spear, if you do it while your only using about 70% of your strength then it will be heavy enough to use for strength training. It should allow you to get stronger a lot faster." Bora called out before Kaz fully disappeared.

'70%? How the hell am I supposed to control myself to only use seventy percent. Hell! How am I even supposed to know the percentage of my strength? Guess I'll have to learn that first then.' Kaz thought as he ran into the forest.

And with that, four months past.

Everyday since then, Kaz has been training to increase his strength and somehow control the percentage of strength he uses. However, during that entire time, he only learned how to control it in intervals of 10%.

For his strength training he decided to do something similar to what Goku and Krillin would do with Roshi in a few years. He started by adjusting his strength to 70%, then he would run around while carrying the spear, similar to their milk delivery training. Then he would hold it while dodging and trying to kill bees. For the third part of his training he would then adjust his strength to 60% and holding it or wearing it on his back. Finally he would run around his little clearing and dig with his hands.

He did this training everyday, however on top of this, he also had Ki training and his weekly spar with Bora. For his Ki training he would practice by shadow boxing and trying to control Ki balls to fly around him and mimic his movements. And of course he would meditate, and with Bora helping him a little, he was able to learn to focus a lot easier compared to before, though, he still hated it. After his training was done, he was now able to control four Ki balls at once to move around his body according to his movements.

And finally, he had a weekly spar with Bora. During these four months he had sparred 17 times, and had lost 16 times with 1 draw. The last three were extremely close, and the fight he had last week was a draw. Apparently his training was extremely effective as he was able to catch up with Bora in strength in just four months, but they both knew that this was due to Kaz's weird Ki. Now, even without death concentration and Ki Kaz would be fast and strong enough to defeat Bora.

Now, today was Kaz's final fight with Bora, as they both knew that Kaz was going to win this time.

"Are you ready? If you defeat me today, then you will be allowed to climb the tower. But I warn you now, I have also been training a little more this past week, so don't get to confident." Bora said as he got into his fighting stance.

"Oh really? That's cheating, but I guess its fine since this will only serve to help me grow right?" Kaz retorted as he also entered a fighting stance, though a less refined one.

"Oh, confident are you? Well then I guess we will both need to be careful." Bora then lunged forward, stabbing at Kaz with his spear.

'He, you have no idea!' Kaz thought as he dodged the attack and flipped his spear around, hitting Bora in the head with the other end of it.

For the past week after coming to a draw with Bora, Kaz had decided to increase the intensity of his training by using 60% all the time instead of just for the last few exercises. So Kaz had a much higher increase in strength this week in comparison to the other ones. On top of that, he had also done the Wim Hof Method beforehand, so his stamina and endurance wouldn't run out anytime soon.

They then proceeded to exchange blows at high speed like in any good Dragonball fight, with Kaz having the upper hand. Though Kaz has fought Bora 17 times now, he still hasn't learned any martial arts or anything from him. At most he could mimic a few moves and they weren't very useful, so he didnt bother. This lack of martial arts knowledge came back to bite him in the ass as Bora regained the upper hand by using a grappling technique to make him lose his balance, distracting him.

Martial arts were invented to allow weak people to fight the strong. And right now, Kaz was strong, but only with raw power, and Bora was using techniques specifically designed to take people like that down.

But, Kaz had decided that today was the day that he was going to start climbing the tower, so he had to win no matter what.

"HAAAAAAAAA" Kaz shouted as he released his Ki, and focused it throughout his body. He then jumped up, dodging another attack, and did a spinning kicked down, forcing Bora down and creating a small crater. Before Bora could get back up again, he found the tip of Kaz's spear pointed at his neck.

"Hahaha, alright, you win." Bora gave up and Kaz retracted his spear, dropping it. Bora stood up with a smile, a proud one, and put his hand on Kaz's shoulder.

"You did good kid. I now permit you to climb Korin's tower whenever you want. I am sure that when you reach the top, lord Korin will take you on as his student, especially with your talent." Bora told him.

"T-thank you s-sir! I will do my best!" Kaz subconsciously straightened his back and got nervous again.

Neither of them were liked long goodbyes, so Bora just said bye and walked away, with Kaz about to start his climb. But then, Kaz looked back and decided on something.

"Bora!" He called out. Bora turned around and looked at him with surprise after seeing the seriousness on Kaz's face. "In about three years, an orange ball with red stars in it will land here, if you want to protect your son and yourself, you will hide it immediately, burry it somewhere or something. After that a young boy with a tail will appear, and you, Upa and him then need to hide as soon as possible, otherwise you will all die. Whatever you do, don't try to fight the assassin that comes after him, just hide with the kid and Upa until he leaves." Kaz didnt say anything after that and started climbing, making it several dozen meters up in just a few seconds.

Bora was left there, standing with a stupefied expression on his face.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"Da dun da dun da da da dun." Kaz had started humming while climbing the tower, and right now he was humming Dragon Soul. He had been climbing the tower for four and a half days now, without stopping once, and yet he still wasn't there, he couldn't even see the top.

But then, he saw something appear in the distance. It was little bump of white somewhere farther up.

"Holy shit! Finally! Its been almost five days of climbing and I can finally see it! The top of Korin's Tower!" Kaz got excited and adrenalin once again filled his body, making him move faster.

He was also extremely relieved as he didnt know how long he would be able to last before he lost his energy. Climbing was much more difficult then running, and, had he not trained anymore after coming out of the forest for the first time, he would have long since run out of stamina despite having already used the Wim Hof Method.

After another thirty minutes he was able to reach the top, carefully climbing in through the holes in the floor, fearing that he might fall if he mistepped.

He climbed in and looked around. I wont bother describing it, just look at the paragraph comment if you don't know what it looks like.

He then turned around, only to come face to face with a cat that was about his size. The cat had white fur and was standing upright, like a person. It had its eyes closed and was holding a wooden staff.

Kaz immediately bowed down to show respect. "Great Korin, I have climbed this tower so that I can learn martial arts from you, please teach me!" He asked without any hesitation, doing his best to suppress the nervousness of meeting a god. Granted, Korin was only a minor god on Earth, but a god is still a god.

"Hmmmm, is that so?" Korin asked while tilting his head, inspecting Kaz from head to toe.
