Chapter 29: Blood rain
The cultivators inside the valley fought with countless wild beasts. Giant snakes, wolves, bulls with scales. All of these cultivators were on Foundation Establishment stage. Only a few of them was a Gold Core. Their foundation was not the best, some of them even mediocre. That's because only the weaker and poor cultivators hunted on this part. They wanted to sell the best cores and buy pills.
Wei Yuan approached one of the groups and attacked the beast. No, it's better to say that he stole the beast from the group. A black beam shot out of his finger and beheaded the bull like beast. It was the sword finger of the Sword Soul technique. This technique was originally not this strong, but it gotten way stronger after he reached sword intent. His Qi manipulation skills also got better after he changed his body structure.
The group looked confusedly at Wei Yuan. Their group struggled to damage that beast, yet he just killed it like this. The true question is what will happen after this? Wei Yuan was definitely not weak, but they can't just allow him to leave with the beast core. That would be a big humiliation. The group leader stepped forward and cleared his throat.
"Ehmm, thanks for the help, but could you please hand over the best core? We found it first, I hope you understand."
"No sorry, this beast core is mine now."
"Then we can only force you to hand it over."
The leader of the group signaled to the other members. Everyone drawed out swords, axes and other type of weapons. They surrounded Wei Yuan, closing every little escape route in the process. It was a basic battle tactic often used when a group wanted to deal with one stronger person.
Wei Yuan just stood there motionless. It was a good chance to test his new unique defense skill. The group started attacking. Some of them shoot long range Qi arts and some of them attacked with fists or swords. The dust exploded around him and no one saw the result of the attack.
"Did he die?"
"Of course he died. Who can dodge 7 attacks at the same time?"
"I don't know, he probably blocked my sword. My sword hit something hard, that was hundred percent not his body."
The air slowly blew away the dust and everyone saw the undamaged Wei Yuan. He just swept the dust away and stood there. The defense technique was successful. He made an invisible barrier around his body out of Qi. Everyone can do this till this point. The difference was that Wei Yuan used the Qi from the air. Others used the Qi from their core, thus the technique only lasted for a few minutes for them. Wei Yuan can use this technique forever if he wants.
Wei Yuan smiled happily and ran towards the group with full speed. He slashed with his finger and beheaded four cultivators with the black blade. This upgraded and modified finger blade was unstoppable under the Core formation stage. The remaining cultivators wanted to help, but their brains still tried to process what's happening around them. They could only watch how Wei Yuan beheaded their friends one by one.
One of the heads rolled on the ground and stopped beside a living cultivator. The cultivator looked down and saw the head of his friend on the ground. His eyes widened in shock and the cultivator collapsed without resistance. Wei Yuan beheaded him. The remaining cultivators tried to run away, but the Qi barrier blocked them.
The other groups noticed the massacre. A few hastily ran away, but the remaining decided to fight against Wei Yuan. It was obvious that he will not stop. Wei Yuan beheaded around 4 groups in the following one hour. The sounds of despair reverberated in his ears, but he didn't care just continued on his way. The last cultivators killed themselves.
Wei Yuan looked around the area. Giant blood puddles everywhere. Heads on the ground. It was a picture straight out of a nightmare, but Wei Yuan liked this picture. The evil Qi was very strong here currently.
He started absorbing this Qi, but that was just the start. This Qi alone was not enough to break through to the next big stage. Thus, he actived his new absorbing technique. The cores of the dead cultivators disappeared one by one. Wei Yuan absorbed all of them through the air. He doesn't need to eat the corpses of evil cultivators anymore thanks to this technique.
His cultivation base started to improve. Eighth stage, ninth stage, tenth stage and finally he reached Core Formation. This is the stage of Qi control. The cultivator creates his own core and refines the Qi. Refined Qi is way stronger than normal Qi. Wei Yuan can greatly improve his unique techniques with this.
Now it's time to go back. Wei Yuan is now confident that he can beat Yao Yunmeng. He ran through a forest when suddenly he got a mental message. It was from the grand elder of the Wei family.
"The princess plans to take action against you on the tournament where no one can see how you die."
Wei Yuan let out a small chuckle and continued on his way towards the sect. The next few months are going to be eventful.

Seems like the mass release thing is postponed due to real life issues. Also my update schedule is going to change for the next few days, since I don't know if I can update the novel every day. Sorry:( I hate myself as an author
I want to say thanks to those who wrote reviews. I will work on my grammar(Idk how but I will try). World building is after our MC says goodbye to the sect.
I will also rewrite a few chapters, because I really wrote stupid things sometimes. I admit that.
