Chapter 70: Chapter 70: Duel at midnight (Edited)

The struggle was not really new to Fish.

True, he had never felt threatened since acquiring the pearl of light, but before swallowing it he had not had the same peace of mind as he did now.

At a very young age, Fish lost his mother's shelter, for reasons he couldn't remember.

What he does remember is rummaging through dumpsters for food discarded by humans, being stolen by other cats bigger than him, spending night after night hungry, fighting for a small piece of territory, bruising his own and licking his wounds in the damp, cold sewers when he lost....

Even after swallowing the little ball of light, Fish has had his fair share of battles, and when hunting, his prey are not immune to animal affinity, and when he encountered some powerful foes, Fish would get hurt.

So fight or something... it's not like he hasn't experienced it!

The kitten's eyes gradually became fierce, and its entire aura was different from before: it was the aura of a predator.

"Meow...!"

Fish let out a harsh howl and charged at the black-robed monster like an arrow shot from a bow, taking the initiative.

Again, its sharp claws struck the Protego enchantment, but this time, instead of retreating, Fish continued to brandish its claws, repeatedly striking the black-robed monster's Protego enchantment.

[Ant's Strength] [Bull's Brute Strength] [Wild Power] [Claw of the Beast].

With several druidic spells, though Fish was unable to break through Voldemort's protego enchantment, but the sheer force of his claws caused Voldemort to involuntarily pull back again and again.

"Protego! Decepulse!"

The frightened Voldemort reinforced the crumbling Protego spell, and at the same time cast a Repel spell at Fish, as he himself recoiled, trying to get out of Fish's reach.

As soon as Voldemort pointed his wand at him, Fish dodged to the side to avoid the incoming spell, and Voldemort took this opportunity to narrow the gap between him and Fish.

But before Voldemort could cast any more spells to suppress Fish, he saw the large tiger-spotted cat speed up and pounce on him again.

[Stride] [Freedom of movement] [Fast run].

With his wild nature in full swing, Fish didn't even need to think, and instinctively cast the most appropriate spell.

Another series of claw swipes interrupted the spell Voldemort was about to cast.

Each time Voldemort finally cast a spell, Fish used his speed and dexterity to easily avoid the different colored lights, and then quickly closed in, clawing and attacking the black-robed man hard, occasionally opening his mouth and trying to bite his throat.

Although it could not cause Voldemort any harm, it caused him to stagger and stumble.

The Dark Lord's mind filled with frustration, if he had so little power left and his body was so useless, how could he not be able to defeat a slightly more special animagus?

If he had been in perfect condition, he wouldn't have needed to recite a few simple spells, nor would he have had to wield his wand, a single silent spell would bring the animagus in front of him to his death.

Or, as Professor McGonagall had done at the opening dinner, it would have been easy to overwhelm Fish with numbers.

Now, however, due to his own state and Quirrell's abilities, he was finding it very difficult to deal with a first year wizard.

Voldemort felt a deep hatred, and his desire to resurrect as soon as possible reached its peak at this moment.

[Soft Stone Spell]

Fish, who had the upper hand, was unreasonable and activated the Soft Stone Spell to muddy the ground. Voldemort did not expect the new animagus in front of him to actually master the ability to cast spells without a wand. Unprepared, his feet sank to the ground.

Voldemort did not expect to see this new Animagus student with the ability to cast spells without a wand, and his feet sank to the ground.

"Damn it!"

Voldemort gritted his teeth and immediately made his decision, first reinforcing the Protego spell on his body, then resisting Fish's attack and aiming his wand at the ground....

"Bombarda!"

An orange glow that seemed to burn shot out from the tip of Voldemort's wand, heading straight for the ground between him and Fish.

"Boom!"

The ground beneath them exploded, sending both Fish and Voldemort flying through the air in a violent explosion.

"Meow..."

Fish shouted as he landed heavily on a cat swing, which had shattered beneath him.

Although he was protected by his "Tree Skin" and his "Bear's Toughness", the powerful spell had managed to wound him, although the superficial wounds looked bloody, they weren't really serious, but Fish's internal organs were shaken by the blast and two or three bones were broken.

On the other hand, Voldemort himself wasn't much better, his protego enchantment was already crumbling from Fish's attack, and he had cast several spells before and after, which had taken its toll on his already battered state, and after the explosion, he would be bedridden for a few days at least....

Good thing this body wasn't his, he'd leave the rest of his suffering to Quirrell, the loser.

"Cough... you bloody animagus, you bloody cat!"

Voldemort swallowed the blood rushing up his throat, and struggled up from the floor, his grim gaze directed at Fish in the distance.

With the exception of the time he had inexplicably failed in his attempt to assassinate the Potter family, Voldemort had never been in such a predicament, not even against his most feared enemy, Dumbledore.

Under Voldemort's evil gaze, Fish rose from a pile of broken wood and glared back at him fiercely.

Cat resistance is very strong, so even though he was badly wounded, Fish was able to act as if he was fine.

"Ha...!"

Ignoring the pain in his body, Fish arched his body again and roared at Voldemort.

He didn't know how the black creature was, as he was completely shrouded in a black robe, showing only a pair of eyes that occasionally glowed red, and he hadn't been able to smell a single scent of him since he appeared, as if he were a stone.

Fish didn't notice that his body seemed to have expanded slightly, and that his bones and muscles had changed slightly.

Voldemort squinted, felt the pain in all parts of Quirrell's body, and felt Quirrell's wails in his mind, and silently opted to withdraw.

He didn't care about Quirrell's body, of course, but he didn't care about his men, and he had already made up his mind that when he had the philosopher's stone in his hands, he would simply discard Quirrell as a pawn.

Voldemort's reason for retreating was simple: his condition no longer allowed him to cast spells.

While it was humiliating for the Dark Lord to be forced to retreat for a first year, Voldemort valued his life more than his dignity, and having been defeated by an infant in his prime, he was now a parasite in someone else's body, so losing to Fish was not a hard thing for Voldemort to accept.

Fish stared at the black-clad figure, watching as he slowly backed up to the door, opening it with his hand and exiting the Room of Requirement, before his nerves relaxed.

Turning his head and looking around, Fish slowly approached a cushion, shrank back and stuck out his tongue to lick his wounds silently.

The smell of blood tingled his sense of smell and gave him a slight shudder.

It was a pity he hadn't seen the black-robed monster's face or smelled him, otherwise he would have wanted revenge on him once he recovered.

Feeling the pain in his body, Fish went back to licking his wound.

I don't know how long it will take to heal, but there are many plants in Fat Aunt's greenhouse that can heal wounds, so let's rest for a while before picking some....

As Fish licked his wounds and thought about how to recover, new information came to mind.

[Rejuvenation: Can continuously heal the target's wounds.]

"Meow?"

Fish flapped his ears and, without hesitation, unleashed the rejuvenation spell on himself.

A green glow surrounded Fish's body, and his wounds healed at a rate that was visible to the naked eye, and the wounds continued to heal.

In a short time, Fish had fully recovered.

"Recovered, Meow!" ?(●ΦωΦ●)?
