Chapter 103: Chapter 103

The long awaited battle of revenge and hatred between Vali and his grandfather was something the former had dreamed about for years. He grew stronger for this day, the day he would be able to repay the old bastard for all the trouble he'd caused him and his mother.

"Vali, you don't know anything about the Lucifer clan do you?" Unlike what he expected though, the youngest morning star was getting a history lesson instead of an intense fight. The only reason Vali wasn't throwing hands was because he knew those eyes.

"Damian Thaumiel. What have you done to that bastard?" Spitting out those words with narrowed eyes Vali directed his hatred at his rival who had helped him greatly for a moment before he closed his eyes to calm himself.

Damian Thaumiel was a man every bit as enigmatic as he was powerful, this was only one of the many times Vali had seen such a man's plans in action. While he didn't understand it at all, the control of one of the enemy's leaders was certainly a good plan.

"Sorry, just a recording here. Can't answer any questions. I'm assuming Future Me is busy with Regalzeva right now so no help there either. Anyways, why do you think you don't have a clan trait?" The recording continued lazily, its voice lackadaisical despite the danger of the situation.

They weren't exactly swimming in time and Hades wasn't one to stall for the sake of it. They may have bigger numbers and prep time but they were on the back foot here. Every second counted. But Damian would have known that as the one to make the plan.

"Because it's been lost. That or we never had one at all." Playing into his rival's schemes Vali disabled his armor to preserve every bit of his demonic energy. Albion was fighting viciously so Vali needed to make sure he was as frugal as possible.

"I'm just going to assume you're wrong. The real answer is that your trait was a lie from the start. Demonic Brilliance of Evil Light was never your clan's real trait. If you want to awaken it, touch Rizevim's forehead." On Rizevim's face, Damian's usual charming smirk was abhorrent.

Ignoring his disgust Vali followed Damian's instructions as his conscience blurred rapidly. It felt like his mind was being thrown in the washing machine and yet his body never felt better. He felt like he could destroy dozens of his former self in combat with ease.

"So this is our clan trait…" Vali murmured as he felt the power coursing through his body. His silver hair had lightened to a snow white, his lineage and sacred gear merging to create the true him. He didn't know he was incomplete but now that he was whole he felt like a new man.

Morning Star was the name of their trait if it could even be called that. In truth, it was the absolute authority over the planet of Venus that empowered him to no end. It was a powerful clan trait that perhaps rivaled Damian Thaumiel's own.

Venus was a planet nearly the same size as Earth and had plenty of unique traits about it that made this authority interesting. The most obvious however was the absurd amount of energy that belonged to the planet now flowing through Vali's body.

Gaia, the holy mother of the earth, previously had the highest reserves excluding Ophis and Great Red but now Vali was a solid contender. In energy alone, he had surpassed people like Sirzechs and Ajuka dozens of times over.

Falling to the ground the dried corpse of his grandfather turned its head toward him. It was ominous to see the corpse break its own withered neck to look toward him, the empty eyes filled with unspoken excitement.

"Follow your instinct. You'll find her there." Damian spoke through the corpse, the voice of Rizevim coming out as choked gasps. Crushing the head of Rizevim just to make sure Vali didn't need to be told twice as he soared through the air.

His speed was incomparable to just moments prior. It felt like he had been a snail but was now a cheetah. Even the strain of sustaining Albion was nothing! Everything was better, so much so that he felt like he could defeat Hades by himself!

Following his instincts he was led to a small building that reasonably should be nothing special, there were plenty like it after all. But Vali knew otherwise, his body was screaming at him that something was off.

Wandering through the dusty halls he stopped just before a painting. Ripping it down without hesitation he took the staircase down without a single thought. Pipes glowed a strangely familiar purple as he descended, the light illuminating his path.

Unlike the dilapidated exterior, this staircase was beyond well furbished. It reminded him of Azazel's lab albeit it did lack the random porn mag thrown around. It was clearly a science lab though Vali didn't know what it was studying.

But that all changed when he arrived in the main lab. A large tube stood in the center of the room, vile green liquid bubbling within, and a familiar yet unrecognizable woman floating within the tube with her eyes closed.

She had long purple hair floating behind her, asset rivaling even Rias Gremory, and if it weren't for the strange state of her skin he'd say she was quite the beauty. But unfortunately, the weird patchwork that was her skin heavily detracted that.

"Lilith…" But Vali couldn't find it in himself to care about her appearance. He knew the woman, anybody would. She was the Mother of Devils, their Queen, and the one who birthed the first generation of an entire species. It was his grandmother.

Vali wasn't exactly angry that she was being used, he couldn't care less about that, but the fact of the matter was if she was back in action they would lose. Maybe if Damian Thaumiel came back it'd be different but that wasn't likely.

Her ability to infinitely create life was not something to underestimate, especially since they were already in dire straits. They didn't have the leeway for hundreds of more enemies to appear when they already had their hands full.

"Vali, go to Hades. I'll watch over here." Manifesting by the White Dragon Emperor's side was a small blue cube floating in the air. It belonged to Aguero Aciano who acted as their main strategist alongside Sona. The plan was made by Damian but they were the ones updating it.

"I'm going." Taking a moment to look at his grandmother Vali agreed, swiftly teleporting away to go to the main battle. That was where their fates would be decided.
