Chapter 50: Fia Lucifuge
[Fia's POV]
What an interesting son-in-law~
I have to say that my daughter certainly has a good eye, I have been worried about her all this time, thinking that she didn't make it... that she somehow accomplished her mission but didn't manage to make it out alive, what if she's alive but living in misery? I can't even help her.
Those worries were constantly looming at the top of my mind for five hundred years... if there is something worse than your child dying, it was for that child to have disappeared. A lifetime of uncertainty was ahead of me, but thankfully... it is over.
And she also brought with her a magnificent husband!
Or well, 'mate' as they call each other, I think it is so... lewd to call your couple your 'mate' I guess their relationship is just that thrilling.
'Are you looking Greyoll? our daughter has become such a magnificent woman... she's independent, extremely strong, delightfully gorgeous and she has a great man as well, I can die in peace now' I cleaned some teardrops that I had as I looked at them walk towards the children of the manor.
Those would have been my last words, but this son-in-law of mine was like a cluster of mysteries that I desired to unveil, if he hails from the same lands as Lady Calliope, then his strength is more than justified, that said... it didn't sort my intrigue; I wanted to know more about him!
Thankfully during the sparring Layla and Grayfia managed to sort out their relationship somehow, as their mother it is my duty to make sure their relationship is working, I've talked to Sirzechs who I consider my son and I know how heartbroken he was after my daughter's disappearance. Before dying, my husband left her in his hands and they were sure to get married when the conflict finished, but that didn't happen... Grayfia disappeared and she went on her mission, leaving a heartbroken Sirzechs. During that time it was Lady Leviathan and Layla who consoled him, eventually, my daughter grew feelings for him; I wanted to stop her... I knew he was not in the right mindset for that but she insisted.
With the years he proposed marriage and I rejoiced but my daughter's emotions were bare to me every time she visited me, I knew it... but I couldn't blame either of them. Perhaps they were trying hard. Things went better when Little Millicas was born but seeing Layla's reaction to Grayfia's return... I know that she wasn't happy at all, she was concealing herself well.
There is uncertainty in my heart, how is this banquet going to go? there are too many variables. I can't take the blame on my son-in-law for his actions, but I'm also convinced that it was just an accident. If he's able to compensate them accordingly, perhaps we can move this matter to the back of our heads and rebuild what's lost.
The problem is those three... Layla, Sirzechs... Grayfia. What is going to happen between them? seeing my daughter's infatuation for that Dragon makes me believe that Sirzechs is going to receive another vicious blow to his heart, but... I think this is what he needs to finally move on from a love that's just not meant to be.
During their previous intercour-*cough* wrestling match, I had to evacuate everyone from the castle because they were fuck-... fighting so hard that the whole place was shaking, the kids were scared and I certainly didn't want them to remain in such a lust indu- catastrophic scene.
They were back now and the kids rejoiced to see Grayfia, I don't know why they like her so much, it must be because of all that gold that she has on her body. Her hair, her wings, her dress, everything was golden as if she was a beautifully packed treasure. Unlike my son-in-law, my daughter's gaze was still troubled.
Grayfia has fought in both wars against devils, fallen, angels and angels. According to what she has told me, she only was in my son-in-law's world for merely a year... something related to time dilation as she explained to me... that makes things slightly complicated, it means that now my younger daughter is older than her older sister?
I held my head trying to stop the incoming headache, but the gist of the matter is that while we had 500 years to become used to fallen angels and angels moving around, she didn't.
Her feelings are something I can understand perfectly, but I need to teach her that angels and fallen are like us... not all of them are evil.
We sat at the table ready for lunch and it was full of kids, for the last hundreds of torder to cope with my loneliness, this is what I have been doing. Venelana offered me to move with her, but I knew her intentions. She is my best friend, but she also wants me to join Zeoticus' harem. That's not going to happen, I'm not interested in that man.
The same proposals were offered by Lady Sitri and Lady Phenex. It is easy to understand why. I'm the only remaining member of the Lucifuge Clan, the clan that had deep ties with Lady Calliope. My daughter has married off to Lucifer. I'm the last one remaining. Most of the underworld expect me to have another child before I perish, with whom? that's their question.
They're queuing for my skirt. The one I take as my man would impregnate me and I would bear a child, the automatic heir of the Lucifuge Clan, the clan ranked 3rd in the pillars and with 'ties' to Lady Calliope, the power that person would acquire would be astronomical.
I had no problem with this at all but I have yet to move on from my husband's death and even if I had, none of them entered my eye. Moreover, I kept myself in the Lucifuge Castle waiting for my daughter all this time and finally... she came back!
I saw how the girls began to run towards my son-in-law and he merely carried them, quite experienced may I add while my daughter stood there all awkward with the little angels and fallen.
"Here, come to say hello to big sis Grayfia~" I carried one of the little angel boys and showed it to my daughter, she was looking at that kid as if he was the most terrifying thing ever!
'Dear, you're showing your inexperience in front of your man!' I sighed, who did she expect to be a good mother if she couldn't do this? I can't blame her... not only is she not used to them but I also never taught her anything about taking care of children.
Layla looked quite confident herself to the side, I noticed Richter was looking at her and even Grayfia clenched her hands when she saw him.
'Obviously, he wants someone that can take care of his children like that!'
"Here, say hello to big brother Richter~"
"Big bro!"
I wanted to gauge him, my son-in-law is someone extremely prideful even for a Dragon and I want to see how he will react.
He merely smiled and patted the boy on the head as I giggled, I guess it is not as bad as I expected. I think he's going to give me way less trouble than Sirzechs.
'Maybe he'd go as far as to give me some pleasure~'
