Chapter 1: Welcome To Eden’s Gate
"Do you feel it in your bones? Can you hear the confusion and hatred out there? The Media slanders us because deep down they realize it too...they know we are right, but are too stubborn and full of...Pride, to admit it!!!" The Father shouted, he was a slender man wearing a dirty white sweater and brown saggy pants, "I can see the coming apocalypse, and we must be ready!! We must save others before it is too late" Joseph yelled. He had only recently established his new church, which was a run-down building that reeked of pig meat, the building itself was quite empty with only about five people.
Suddenly, the door of the "church" opened, and a little boy wandered his way in. John, Joseph's younger brother, was instantly amused by the presence of the child, who silently walked to a chair and sat. Joseph glanced at the child but continued his preaching, "The world out there judges you on your beliefs, the clothes you wear, the food you eat...But WE do not care what clothes you wear, only that you are clothed. We do not care what food you eat, only that you are fed" Joseph stated. The boy listened on with a curious expression, Joseph soon moved his attention to him, "...My Child...What is your name?" Joseph asked, raising his arms out towards the boy. "...Adam..." he answered, Joseph slowly approached Lucas as the four other people in the room watched closely, "...Adam..." Joseph could see pain and suffering in the boy's eyes, it reminded Joseph of his own when he was a child, "...You are safe now" Joseph promised him before wrapping his arms around the boy, hugging him...
(Several Years Later)
'Edens Gate had undergone a lot of changes over the years. We had moved out of Rome and instead settled in Hope County, some small state in Montana. We had only moved here not too long ago, but we already know this place will be our home. We have some properties thanks to John, we've got a ranch, our very own church, and soon we aim to spread our message across the entire county. It will be our Prosperity, our Sanctuary...Praise the Father'
Adam closed the journal in his hand, it had been 10 years since he left his home, and he had been with Joseph for nearly most of his life, the guy was 16 now. "Adam" Joseph said calmly as he approached, "Come with me...John and I will be heading to a town called Falls End, We will try to warn them about the impending doomsday" Joseph stated, "Of Course Father" Adam said as he placed his journal down, scratching his brown bushy beard. Every man in the family was required to grow a beard, while women are required to let their hair grow long.
Adam got in a large white truck with Joseph, "You're bringing the boy along?" John asked as he tapped the side of the car, after a long silence John started the car, "Alright then. Let's go save some souls" he said as he drove off to the town of Falls End.
Upon arriving, many townsfolk took notice of them and their 'unique' style of dressing. They dressed incredibly formal, probably TOO formal for a livestock region like Holland Valley. They entered the nearby bar and immediately had the entire bar staring at them. "...My Children...The Collapse is coming" Joseph said as he walked towards a corner of the bar, holding his Bible, "The Politicians wants us silenced...they fear us, they fear what we have to say...because we can see through their lies and deceit. A Politician's main goal is not to maintain order and peace...their job is to morph our perception. They are the ones telling us who the good guys are, they're the ones saying who the bad guys are, they tell us what is right or wrong like we are children, who need to be spoon fed information. But we will not be shackled by their rules...we do not care about your past sins, only that you ask for forgiveness...we accept you for who you are" Joseph stated. Lucas looked around for any reaction, or any applause, but all they received is deadpan silence. "...Holy shit" one man cackled, laughing hysterically at what he just saw, soon the entire bar was laughing and pointing at the three of them.
"John, John control yourself, God is watching" Adam said, seeing John was clearly angered by the reaction they got. "Let's go...they will see soon enough that we were correct...sadly, it'll be too late for them by then" Joseph said before he left the bar, followed by Adam and John.
"They are blinded by Pride...They see one man laugh, and they feel an obligation to do the same. They do not want to be seen as different" Joseph said to John, "...But we are different...we are not shackled by sins...You, Me, Jacob...Adam here... our entire family...we do not let Pride get to us...we know the truth, and we will spread it...no matter how many insults they throw at us...no matter how hopeless this may seem...We Will Rise Again...No matter what..."
