Chapter 106: Electronic Culture

"What an amazing scene," Qiuying softly exclaimed, clearly awestruck by the captivating image before her. "Is this... an electronic music festival?"

In the current footage, white pigeons fluttered in the sky alongside the elegant court musician playing the harp. The surroundings featured architecture and fountains brimming with European charm at the center of Amsterdam. It seemed as though the footage had been captured by an aerial drone, complemented by ground-based cameras. Oddly, this scene didn't feel out of place, even with the conflicting atmospheres of Electronic music and court musicians.

Who could have imagined that such an elegant and classical scene would unfold in a world-renowned electronic music event?

If anyone still held the stereotypical impression that electronic music was solely about wild parties in nightclubs, with people going crazy around the DJ booth, they clearly had a shallow understanding of electronic music culture. This music form, still in its early stages of development in China, had already become a trend, even through its stagnation.

"This is electronic culture at its finest," Miaoyi smiled faintly. "The captivating aspect lies here. You might not believe it, but every coronation ceremony of the Dutch royal family and the Chief Musician on King's Day are led by the top DJs of this nation, celebrating their great kings."

"That's amazing!" Qiuying was left speechless. "Is that really true?"

"The Netherlands, a nation dedicated to electronic music," Miaoyi replied wistfully. "If electronic music in China could reach such a level someday, I would truly be satisfied."

While Qiuying was still in awe, the number of viewers in the livestream room skyrocketed at an astonishing speed.

Even before the broadcast began, the anticipation of millions of fans was already building up. Now that the live stream was underway, only a couple of minutes into the opening, the viewer count was remarkable.

More than 3.1 million spectators had already flooded in, exceeding the number before the broadcast by over double. This level of traffic and data far surpassed many top-tier streamers!

The viewership and popularity of this live stream, in general, had no room for fake numbers or manipulation. It guaranteed authenticity in its entirety.

There was no need for any artificial boost. The responsible streaming platform only needed to ensure that its servers were strong enough.

Miaoyi glanced at the layers of comments for a moment, then quickly closed it, deeming it too great a distraction.

Although watching a live stream without waves of comments felt soulless, once Miaoyi opened the comments, she couldn't bear to see them anymore. Furthermore, having the barrage during this type of live stream was quite a dampener on the experience.

After exchanging a few words, Qiuying and Miaoyi continued to watch the live stream attentively.

Listening to the court musician's performance was a dual enjoyment of auditory and visual delight. Five minutes had passed, yet Miaoyi and Qiuying felt as if time had flown by. Even after the court musician exited the stage, they still felt unsatiated.

It was time for the show to begin!

At this moment, the music at the live venue silently transformed. In sync with the melodies of the court musician's string instruments, electronic music with the same rhythm and pitch emerged. The sound was filled with a subtle electronic bass that reverberated through the air.

In an instant, the atmosphere changed dramatically.

Gone was the European charm and classical vibe, replaced by a scene inside an indoor venue that could rival a large sports stadium. The stage was adorned with dazzling lights and an atmospheric display of the "AMF" logo, towering at about ten meters high. Below the towering stage, the crowd was immense.

A sweeping glance revealed a sea of people, every seat occupied. The air resounded with cheers, and flags of various countries were vigorously waved.

Over fifty national flags could be seen, along with many other miscellaneous flags with unknown symbolism.

If Miaoyi's previous live event was considered crowded, it couldn't even compare to the scene in Amsterdam at this moment. The difference was beyond comparison.

"How many people are there?" Qiuying asked.

"This venue can accommodate around sixty thousand people, and it seems to be over capacity right now. A rough estimate would be around sixty-eight to sixty-nine thousand," Miaoyi replied, sharing some prior knowledge about the venue.

Unfortunately, Miaoyi couldn't personally experience it this year because of studies and various other busy matters...

"Wow!" Qiuying couldn't help but gasp in amazement.

"You don't need to envy. If you want to experience something like that, we just need to find a big enough stadium," Miaoyi grinned, opening a bag of chips, and reclining deeper into the sofa.

"To be honest, I'm already satisfied with where we are now, but I'm sure we will," Qiuying replied without any doubt, seemingly believing that Miaoyi could accomplish such things.

"The host is coming out."

"What a bald head!"

"...Enough, let's continue watching."

"I'M BLINNDDDDD!!!"

"...hehe"

In the footage, after a series of lively atmospheres and other proceedings, the host finally appeared. It was evident that the main event was about to begin.

"Greetings, electronic music fans from around the world. I'm so glad we could meet again in this new year. Welcome, to the majestic city of Amsterdam!"

"After a year of patience, the new rankings of the Top 100 DJs in the world will be presented to you tonight. We invite you to discuss who will achieve our ultimate honour, the highest accolade in electronic music, and claim the prestigious trophy for the world's leading DJ!"

The world's leading DJ!

No.1 in the world!

These were undeniably weighty statements. Even someone as composed as Miaoyi couldn't help but feel a heavy breath upon hearing these words.

Because throughout the years, the significance of this title and the countless youths and years contributed by numerous electronic music artists were immeasurable.

Although many people criticized DJ MAG and the Top 100 rankings for becoming increasingly questionable, there was no doubt that while people criticized, they also unconsciously paid close attention to the list. When the weighty words "World's number one DJ" fell on a particular DJ, people would still recognize that person's achievement.

DJ MAG may have its flaws, but they were the authoritative force capable of determining the world's number one. No factor could shake their authority.

Even if people questioned a DJ's ranking, the focus was still on "What qualifies them for this position" rather than "Are they even qualified at all." This was the reputation DJ MAG had built.

It was as if tonight, in the chat that Miaoyi had already turned off, there were many "DJ MAG is awesome" messages lingering, which seemed to never dissipate.

This was the grandeur of the global electronic music scene!
