Chapter 39: Hexcorp's Attack

Amora kept telling herself that she knew it as she chased down the person she suspected to be Shirley. Aya chased quickly behind soon losing Amora.

"Shirley! It's me!" She yelled to the person who was obviously Shirley.

"Amora! Run away!" Shirley yelled back. Amora was confused and followed Shirley. Shirley entered some kind of broken down warehouse. Amora began looking around, searching behind crates and looking through rooms, with no fear of the surrounding dark. No sunlight made its way in, and Amora's voice echoed as she called for Shirley.

Amora entered a room, and upon blinking was now outside the room.

"Huh..." She wondered if she had just imagined something, so she entered once again, and once again upon blinking uncontrollably, she was outside the room. She left that room alone and continued her search for Shirley.

"Amora..." A voice echoed from behind her, but when she turned around, there was nobody there, she searched the rooms once again, believing that Shirley may have just said it elsewhere and it had echoed up to her instead.

Amora took out her blade, which she forgot she had brought with, it must have been scary for some civilians to see.

She aimed it in front of her and somebody knocked her over, she turned over as a blade landed next to her, sticking into the ground.

"Amora. Hello there." Tasaku said with a grin on his face, his eyes glowing purple once again, fear inched its way into Amora again, and she began fighting back, slicing into his legs and rolling backward, vaulting over the railing and using air for a smooth landing. She hid behind a crate, waiting for him to pass by.

After a loud whamming sound, followed by a crate shattering, it went silent. Tasaku's shoes were clicking and clacking and it seemed that he was breaking crates. He began to hum a tune that she heard Cole hum before, but couldn't remember if it were the exact one or not.

"Amorrrraaa~ Why not come out and dance?!" Tasaku yelled, laughing maniacally, his laughter echoing and making Amora more scared. It was harder to determine his location with the echoing.

Amora moved her foot on the dusty floor, hitting a rock and eying it. She reached for it and picked it up. She knew she stood no chance against him now, her dreams of finding and defeating him slipped away and out of sight now.

Amora threw the rock at a crate further away with a loud SHOOM!

Tasaku ran in that direction and Amora made her way out of the warehouse quietly, running back to the car and calling Aya, in an obvious panic, only making Aya rush faster.

Once Aya arrived, Amora told her of the situation and showed her a cut she had gotten from vaulting the railing.

The two waited for Leon and Reyon, who came only a minute after, scolding them for leaving them and stopping when Amora finally blurted something out, sounding like she was just making a dark joke.

"The man who killed Cody! He attacked me! He's in a warehouse! We need to go!" Amora said, running off, knowing that Reyon and Leon were following her.

She reached the warehouse and entered with Leon and Reyon, Amora showed them the broken boxes, but they weren't believing her at first. She tried to show them how she vaulted the railing, and they began to believe her, until she brought up how she followed Shirley to the warehouse, Leon and Reyon lowered their heads, thinking this whole experience she went through may have just been caused by the trauma that the doctor had mentioned.

"Amora..." Leon said, keeping the truth away from her, they nodded and left. Not telling her that what she experienced may have been inside her head. This annoyed Amora, who knew what they were thinking. She was angry at them for not considering it or even trying to search the area.

It only made her feel that hiding the secret of the group was the correct choice. They'd just deny that too, wouldn't they.

Amora was still cursing in her head when suddenly a ball of wood flew threw through the back window, just barely missing Aya's head. Amora grabbed Aya's head and pulled it down below the back window.

"Shit!" Leon yelled as the ball flew through the windshield, and he looked behind them. "Keep your eyes on the road! We're being attacked!" Reyon yelled, peeking out the window.

"Hexcorp?! It's a Hexcorp Van! What're they doing?!" Reyon yelled.

Amora looked outside and wondered how Reyon knew this, but upon seeing the heavily armored van with small slips for Elementals to shoot out of. The van also had Hexcorp's Symbol on it.

Amora leaned out of her window and narrowly avoided a chunk of wood that an Elemental threw from the van. She returned the attack with a ball of fire, which just simply hit the van and vanished into some visible smoke.

"What do we do?!" Aya yelled, looking at the van through the hole in the back window.

"Stay down! Mom, switch with dad quick! I have an idea!" Amora yelled. Reyon and Leon were hesitant but did as Amora suggested.

"Okay, dad, get ready!" She pointed at the tires, and Leon understood. They both shot a beam of air out of their hand under the tire, causing it to swerve and slip on the road, eventually swerving off of the road and flipping into a ditch. The Hexcorp Members got out of the car, and tried to flip the car, but with no luck.

***

The ride was silent and intense, they kept watch the entire time, but as soon as they reached the house, they all rushed inside, to which Leon activated an emergency alarm, which covered all the doors and windows with thick one way mirrors.

Panting, Leon began to speak quietly: "What the hell?! Why is Hexcorp attacking us?!" to which Aya gave her best answer, "Maybe they blame you for Cody's death?"

Leon shook his head, and Reyon spoke: "Perhaps... but we have to think of another sickening possibility. I think... someone has taken control of Hexcorp and it's members..."

Leon quickly denied this scary thought. "No way! Nobody can infiltrate that place and just do whatever they want! Those people are strong!"

Amora felt herself lose hope, somehow everything was getting worse and worse, with no good luck in sight.

"No... it's... Tasaku. Every time I've seen him... his eyes glow purple and I feel instant fear. It must be... some kind of Element."

Aya believed in this as well, knowing that with enough fear, someone could make their way into the building and do whatever they wanted.

"An eye element..." Leon said, explaining what it was to a confused Aya and Amora. The conversation was interrupted by a knocking on the thick one way mirror.

Leon ran up to it and looked outside, he could see a man standing there with a notebook, behind on the ground was many soldiers working for Hexcorp. Among the group however...

Amora could spot Tasaku in a car, smiling widely.
