Niki POV
Its Wednesday today and I have school from 7 to 2pm. I got up to see that hyungs are all awake eating breakfast. "Niki ah, eat your bunggeopang. You have school in an hour. Manager hyung will drive you there." Jungwon hyung told me. I hummed in reply. Well, I have to take a separate car from jay, Jungwon and Sunoo hyung cuz they go to Korean arts school while I go to a Japanese school to study better. I saw the other hyungs dressing up to go to the company and the others packing their bags for school. I grabbed my stuff before bidding goodbye," hyung I'm leaving see you at the company later." I told them. True enough, everyone was doing their own thing and only Jungwon hyung muttered a bye. Feeling salty at the cold shoulder, I just ran through the main door after manager hyung, before slamming the door. I get that they are stressed because its the middle of the school week and their exams are coming soon, but I just hoped to get a bye or a hug :/ They must be very stressed, even with the new comeback Blessed-Cursed coming up.
Time Skip --> Lunch
Well, it was lunch time and I had one more class before I was done. I was eating on my own peacefully when I saw my friend, Wonho getting beaten up, down the hallway, his face getting bloody. "What a sight, where the heck are the teachers." I thought. As I was close the finishing my meal, I looked towards Wonho who seemed to start to lose consciousness. I was starting to panic deep down but before I knew it, my legs brought me to where the bullies and Wonho were.
"Yah, stop it. Can't you see he is about to faint. You guys may be charged for attempting murder you know." I hollered down the hallway. The bullies, one I recognised as Juyeon, with his minions Sunwoo and Eric and a few others. (Guys I have nothing against TheBoyz they are so amazing I just didn't know what names to put LMFAO) "Ni....ki?"Juyeon mentioned, confirming with the rest. "Why, you wanna save the f***er? Look at him man. You sure you wanna side this dumb shit?" Eric retaliates. "Just let him go." I continued.
I was so caught in the moment I didn't realize that I was standing in front of them. Juyeon just smirked at me, as my heart started panicking. He just went down to the poor Wonho before smashing his fist on his face. Again. My heart skipped a beat before seeing Wonho go limp on the floor, a pool of blood around his body. I was so scared he would die. And just then.
SMACK! My hands balled into a fist, landing it right on Juyeon's jaw. A resounding crack resonated the whole hallway. "AH!" He screamed, a shrill of shock and pain echoed. His friends were shock at the retaliation, before screaming in anger, attacking our one and only maknae, that just wanted to save his friend.
Two hours passed. 4 o'clock. Message after message came through Niki's phone as he found himself half-dead, at the nurse's office. "It seems that you may have at least 2 broken ribs, you need to go to the hospital soon, if you frontal body starts to ache, please go seek medical help. Other than that, your body needs rest. The cuts on your arms, put antiseptic everyday once, and your shoulder, it seems dislocated. Wear this cast for now, if it gets worse go to the hospital, ok?" Auntie Ling told me. I just nodded silently. Great, a big bruise on my stomach, a shoulder cast, bandaged hands and a cotton wool on my forehead. How am i supposed to face my hyungs now...
I finally gave manager hyung a call," Hyung." "Yah! Where the hell are you! Late for practice, vocal training and-" "Hyung. I'm in school. I'm not feeling well, can you pick me up and bring me back to the dorms? I will tell the members I'm at home, ok?" Silence ringed through the phone as manager-nim's shock was evident. "Arasseo, I'll be there in 5. Just stay there ok?" "mhm ok" I replied.
The van was pulled up in the school driveway as manager hyung had a look of shock at my whole body. The moment I went in, his concern was evident. "Niki ah, are you okay? What happened?" He asked, full of concern. I couldn't reply, tears just falling down my face. He came in close to give me a hug, when my shoulder hurt as he was pressing on it. "My friend is in the hospital, half-dead. The bullies beat him to death for buying the wrong milk, I got beaten up for siding him" I said, quietly. I felt so empty when the ambulance brought Wonho to the hospital. "How bad is your body," manager asked. "They slashed me on my arms, I may have dislocated my shoulder and my stomach." I lifted my shirt to see a big purple bruise covering all the way to my chest and stomach. "I think we should go to the hosp-" "No. I'm ok. Let's just go back home. Hyungs are stressed enough. The last thing they want is for me to be injured. Dispatch will be so irritating." I replied.
After mentioning about what happened, I went back to the dorms, getting manager-nim to keep it a secret. Hyungs are so stressed that they couldn't even bother to say bye to me, I can't do this to them. I will be such a burden. After much pain during the shower, I removed my cast, chucking it deep in my clothes, preventing it to be found, before going to bed.
Manager-hyung POV
How? What am I supposed to do... Niki is also half-dead, he has to train and how is he going to keep it a secret from Enhypen? Since I promised him, I can only hope he will seek medical treatment as a dancer's body is most important to a dancer :(
I fiddled in my pocket to call Jungwon, notifying them that Niki is safe.
"Jungwon-ah" "Hyung! Did you see Niki? Is he okay? Where-" "Yes, Niki had some issues at school. I picked him up and he is at the dorm resting now. It's best if you could talk to him. He seems very down." "I see. Okay, we are having dinner, we will go back and bring dinner to Niki. Thank you for notifying me." "Okay, bye." I hanged up, my heart aching when I saw Niki in that state.
Enhypen POV
We were starting to get worried when Niki did not pick up, until Jungwon got a call. "Ok, I see. Thanks hyung. Bye" He hanged up. We all gave Jungwon worried glances until he said," Niki is at home. He had issues in school so he couldn't be here. He is feeling down and didn't to come out" We were concerned at what Jungwon said so we got our things, packed for Niki and went back home.
