A few days later, Azrael and Corwin strolled through the rain-soaked forest in silence. Azrael's hands were buried deep in his pockets, while Corwin, shielded by a black umbrella, kept his hands tucked into the sleeves of his coat, gazing ahead. The rhythmic patter of raindrops and distant thunder set the tone for the lonely atmosphere.

Corwin, his irritation evident on his face, furrowed his eyebrows and questioned, "We've been walking for hours. What exactly are we looking for? Aren't we supposed to be on patrol?" His tone dripped with sarcasm as he observed Azrael's back.

Glancing at Azrael, he continued, "Are you seriously going to ignore me?"

Azrael came to a halt, turned, and met Corwin's gaze with a blank expression.

"Yes, I'm going to ignore you ," he declared. Removing his hands from his pockets, he crossed his arms and added, "Also, I don't see why I should explain my motives to someone who hates me and constantly questions my decisions."
