Chapter 296: A mer's body

''When you are back to the heaven, you will be stripped of your position,'' a trail of blood escaped from the corner of his mouth and Cardan's face turned increasingly pale.

''Your Highness!" the man dropped to his knees, ''I have been loyal to you since you were a child. The first elder of the witch clan who discovered this spell passed away months later. Knowing how severe the consequences are, how could I stay composed? These mortals… are greedy and ambitious. They are using you.'' 

Cardan pushed himself to his feet, staggering in his steps as he strode out of the swamp. 

The guards rushed to hold him but he waved his hand. 

''I am not the ancestor of the witch clan. I am Atlas' son. I won't die from some pathetic spell,'' his lips curled in disdain.
