Chapter 49: Canis Majora Training (1)
"Meow!"
First thing in the morning I heard meowing in my ears, courtesy of yours truly, Fries, I got up, and it stopped and jumped off of the bed, I looked at the side and Aster was already up and was out of bed already.
"Am I the only one who hasn't woken up yet?" I asked Fries, but it just meowed at me, I was about to move, but I felt my whole body wrack in pain. It's not just pain, the heaviness of my body is a cause for concern too.
"Meow?"
"Ow…" I cried out.
My legs are stiff, my thighs hurt as well as my feet, although Aster did heal it yesterday after I woke up resting at the giant tree, we went back here in the cottage house after I finally woke up, albeit still complaining about the mild pain, pain is pain either way, but it looks like it didn't completely go away.
"Muscle pain...is the worst" I groaned and forced myself to move.
I feel like I'm wearing a suit of armour, with the heaviness, I still feel tired as well, a deadly combination this is. I went down the stairs and went to the living room where I saw Aster and Ishana already having breakfast.
"Good Morning, Princess"
"Good M-Morning, P-Princess S-Seraphine"
Aster reverted to calling me Princess again, when she called me by my name without the formality, it lifted my spirits, but she returns it after a day, a princess through the core, is what Aster is.
"Please have breakfast with us," Ishana urged.
"Thanks" I slowly went towards them, they gave a curious expression to me "muscle pain is still here…" I said, my voice is also tired now that I notice.
"M-My h-healing magic didn't l-last I guess…"
"It's fine, it worked wonders yesterday, but I should've saved the healing to today...now It's hard to move"
"Move it slowpoke" a voice behind me complained.
"Ha…" even if I wanted to, I'd cry in pain if I suddenly moved quickly. I don't want to pull a muscle this early "you can just go around me, you know?" I said.
"Alright" I slowly move to the side, but I need to rest for a moment, "Hey, wait" I grabbed the hem of his clothe before he could completely walk away.
"What is it now?"
I let my body fall on his back, he supported my whole body, only with his back, talk about a giant wall of muscle.
"What the hell are you doing?!"
"Calm down! Sam!" I said annoyed at how loud his voice is "let me just rest for a minute or two like this, my body can't take it anymore"
"Hm…"
I heard another voice, must be Aden, looks like these people wake up the same time we do, or this time of day is just alien to me, since I sleep more, and it's already sunrise when I wake up? Aster doesn't have a problem waking up at this time of day too…by this time of day, what I mean is four AM in the early morning, that's just my calculation of time though.
Since this world doesn't have any sort of time indicator on what the exact time is, and they rely on the position of the sun or moon to know the time, not the numbers of it, I just guess on my mind what the numbered time it is, not the casual words they give like 'early morning' or 'mid-day' and the like.
"O-Oh…"
"Hehehe, brother you-"
"Okay, that's enough!"
"Wait!"
He suddenly moved, I thought my whole body would fall on the floor, but I got lifted from where I was standing, my eyes widened looking at Sam, he had a frown on his face but his cheeks are rosy red, I gave a questioning look at him.
"BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA"
Aden's laugh reverberated inside the house, Sam carried me in his arms while I just looked at him stunned, with big steps he arrived at the dining table, he then puts me down onto a seat.
"There!"
"Thank you"
"Hahahaha…"
Aden's laugh dies down, he goes to his sit, sitting next to his brother who is glaring daggers at him.
"Too bad that you're already engaged, Princess Seraphine"
"..." Sam's furry ears twitched at Aden's statement.
"Oh, uh, yeah…"
"Who is the lucky man?"
"King Kristopherson"
"A King no less"
"Well, uncle is the one that picked him for me, I didn't object because of what he said to me too...and he is nice," I said shrugging.
"He is v-very n-nice, Princess" Aster chided "and h-he very popular especially w-with the g-girls"
"I do see your point" he is very handsome, and charming.
"Everyone i-is envious of y-you"
"Including you?"
"I also h-have a fiancé, p-picked by m-mother already, I would n-never think to e-envy my f-friend" she admits blushing furiously at the word friend "a-and I respect K-King Kristopherson, a-although he is a bit intimidating t-too, especially with f-flocks of girls, banding together t-to talk to him" her blush fades and turns into a frightened expression.
"Nobles?"
"Yes" she nods
I just shrugged at her, I'm not attached to him or anything, I only just met him, although our meeting gave a lasting impression on me.
"Do n-not worry, Princess, King K-Kristopherson, i-is very loyal"
I gave an awkward laugh at Aster, why would she tell me that? I shook my head and ate already.
After eating, Aster and I bathe and then went off to the Forest once again, this is beginning to be routine, apparently the name of the Forest is Caladium Forest, because of the leaves that have purple tint on it, purple or red?
"I feel so sluggish"
-I see
My body froze at the sudden telepathic voice that I heard inside my head, we are further away from the meeting place, aren't we?
-Both of you better start running.
"M-Me too?"
"Wait-"
Canis Majora sprinted it was behind us all along, Aster and I ran like the wind, it started chasing us for NO reason, while we ran it starts slashing its paws or swiftly circling to whip us with its huge tail, of course, it missed, and we dodge its attack.
Aster is a faster runner than me, she's ten steps away from where I am, Canis Majora growled at me for being too slow, I speed up, even though my body is screaming in pain, now I'm 4 steps near Aster.
-MOVE!
"EEK!"
"AHHHHHH"
Both of us screamed, trying to avoid the giant wolve, Why is this happening?! I cried out in my mind.
Canis Majora started slowing down, when it stopped thirty feet away from us, Aster and I panted, my lungs are on fire, I gasped for air.
-Hahaha, no slacking off.
"G-Give...us a bit of break!" I said still inhaling air into my lungs.
"Ha…"
-Both of you are out of shape! You must move and exercise, especially you, Holder of the Prophecy
"I know I'm a bit on the chunky side! You don't have to remind me!"
-At least you are aware of it
"Ugh…"
-That is why you must move your bodies.
"A-Am I also-"
"No Aster, I don't think so-"
-Out of shape, your fit body still needs exercise!
"Eek!!!"
"Calm down, Canis!" I said "we already ran"
-Indeed you did.
"Is that the training for the day?"
-No
"Of course," I said slapping my hand on my forehead
-Climb this tree and get onto that thick branch
It looked up, I traced where it was looking, and it was really high, I grimaced at the wolve.
"You, you are k-kidding me…"
-I do not jest
"Why is my life so cruel"
-Get climbing
"Okay! Okay!"
-When you get to the top, sit on the tree with your legs crossed, then do meditation, tap onto your power so that you can control it.
"How do I do that?"
-FOCUS
"That's so vague!"
-This training will last until night, so you better be up there before afternoon.
I groaned and started climbing the tree, my body feels so sluggish, and I'm literally in pain, that running session did not do kindly with my legs.
"W-What may I h-help, Holy Beast C-Canis?"
-Prophecy Holder
"WHAT?!"
-Tell this child to stand onto the magic circle
"It said that, st-" my footing is wrong, and I almost lost my momentum.
-Careful now
"That doesn't sound like you care, it sounded more of teasing"

-You need the harshness of this training in order for you to hone the Prophecy Power!
It snarled at me, but it doesn't feel like the snarl is an indication of being angry, more of like putting emotion on what you are saying.
-May I remind you, that the power you hold is not for your benefit, but for the benefit of the people in Celestia and saving this Continent.
I felt those words for some reason, it was heavy, I'm literally carrying this whole Continent on my back.
-Now, please say to the Star Princess, to stand onto the magic circle.
"Aster, stand on the magic circle"
I said while giving all of my attention into climbing.
"O-Okay!"
-Do you hear me again, Princess of the Star?
I drowned their conversation out, and climbed, I felt my hands trembling already my grip becoming weak.
"Shit...if I lose my grip I'd fall" I was about to look down but closed my eyes and went against the idea.
I shook my head and climbed, I don't know what time it is, but I finally made it...
To the second trunk just below the trunk of what Canis pointed.
"I feel like passing out…"
"Meow!"
"Fries?"
I looked up to where the tiny mew is and Fries is looking down at me, meowing, I inhaled and closed my trembling hand.
"Almost"
I felt my body is going to give out, but I need to continue, I'm almost there!
"ONE MORE!"
I finally grabbed the trunk, but my hand refused to grip it tightly, my sweat rolled down my forehead, forcing to lift my body.
"Shit-"
But failed.
"Gahhh!"
